Why don't the Balkan states just become one country? Same language, same culture, all slavs, what's the issue?

Why don't the Balkan states just become one country? Same language, same culture, all slavs, what's the issue?

>same language
literally not how it is

>what's the issue?
Stupidity. I meant nationalism, sorry.

600 years of trying to kill each other off.
But hey, what you got there seems like a good idea.

its close enough

ever heard of yugoslavia? it didn't end well

They literally did this

they hate each other dumbass..mostly because the croats have repeatedly assraped the serbs through history

Why is Croatia a thing?

Im from serbia ama

basically after ww1 the serbs and croats fell under rival nationalisms, both had pretensions over bosnia. after brief conflict, a unified yugoslavia was created, then ww2 happened and the croats allied with hitler and assraped the serbs and bosnians, then after ww2 they were all under the control of the soviet union. after the soviet union went to shit, the nationalist rivalry returned, culminating in all out war, resulting in croatian victory and the end a unified yugoslavia once again.

It's not nationalism, it's chauvinism and history. We tried it many times. It functioned for some time to later be destroyed by some stupidity.

We were not under Soviet union. You don't know a thing about this. Tito, by saying "no" to Stalin almost killed us all, including some other countries. Somehow it didn't trigger any conflict.

>chauvinism and history
nationalism
>some stupidity
nationalism

You obviously don't know the difference or are some liberal

true, but after tito died and the soviet union fell, the communist unification also died and the nationalism returned, triggering the war in the 90s

nationalism:
"patriotic feelings or efforts"
"advocacy of political independence for a particular country"

A majority of Croats wanted Croatia to leave Yugoslavia and become a sovereign country, while many ethnic Serbs living in Croatia, supported by Serbia, opposed the secession and wanted Serb-claimed lands to be in a common state with Serbia. Most Serbs effectively sought a new Serb state within a Yugoslav federation, including areas of Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina with ethnic Serb majorities or significant minorities, and attempted to conquer as much of Croatia as possible. Croatia declared independence on 25 June 1991, but agreed to postpone it with the Brioni Agreement and cut all remaining ties with Yugoslavia on 8 October 1991.The war ended with Croatian victory, as it achieved the goals it had declared at the beginning of the war: independence and preservation of its borders

thats fuckin nationalism. see definition above

>same culture
Where exactly?

>Croatia won
Yeah sure.
Especially Croats in Bosnia. Face the reality. That's the only war where nobody won.
Everybody lost Yugoslavia, first of all.

Then, Bosnia got Republic of Srpska and almost Herceg Bosna.

Croatia didn't get Herceg Bosna which was also something they fought for.

Serbia and Montenegro fought for survival of Yugoslavia or at least parts where Serbs lived to continue to be part of Yugoslavia. Only got Republic of Srpska.

About Macedonians. They got pure mafia and even more Albanians.

Slovenians lost opportunity to be the brain and the most advance country of the Yugoslavia. Now they are ass of the Europe (also geographically).

Nobody achieved final goals. Besides that, every country is now run by mafia. Not saying that life under Yugoslavia was good. Just saying that nobody won the war.

They did and it was called Yugoslavia. it ended poorly because white people hate each other more than anything else

Agreed

even within a relatively homogenous society with a shared history and mutually intelligible languages you still need an excuse to turn on one another. white people are so civilized.

Glad my great-granddad Ivan fucked off out of there when he did.
