Meh.
Amazing, especially Rolling Stone, Transverberation and 1969.
Best thing they've done.
definitely underrated
Weird direction for them. Interesting and pretty decent. Not over- or underrated, its just good.
Obviously not a masterpiece, but it gave me a huge grin when I heard it the first time, especially that chorus on "Rolling Stone."
I'm just a random fuck on the Internet so my opinion is worthless, but as someone who's made an effort to listen to as much music, both publicized and overlooked, and avoided any music reviews all year (this album could have like a 40 on Metacritic for all I know), I think it deserves to be in the top 10 of the year so far for sure, albeit on the lower end. Really exciting and well-made album.
(I read that back and I sound really pretentious, but I'm not deleting and typing that shit all over again with different wording just to sound like less of a prick. Everyone hates each other on here by default so what's the point? lmao)
I keep seeing that cover as a head with a really protuberant Bogdanoffish chin on the top, with the 2 hands being on their neck and shoulder.
++ for protuberant chin ref.
Yeah I always saw something similar. Still not sure what I'm meant to be seeing.
Same, I have no clue
It's an arm (the chin), and the hands are grabbing the thigh and waist.
how about you go back to r eddit
Don't worry, you didn't really say anything at all
Hey, I know I typed like a pretentious douchebag and I acknowledged that. Blame the Addy, not me.
mate get off adderall and get pure dexamphetamine you pussy
Everyone so mean. I'm not someone that knows music theory, I just like to follow new releases. I just try express myself as best as I can despite my plebishness.
I take what I can get and try to be grateful for it. If I got everything exactly as I wanted it Arcade Fire and Kendrick Lamar would have put out decent albums this year, and I'd also be dead from a heroin overdose.
I like it, but then I think I have enjoyed everything Ulver has done except maybe War Of The Roses. The cool thing with this band is that every time they switch styles, they never sound like anything generic within that style and always bring their own personal twist. On this album I love how it sounds like they really accentuated gothic/moody post-punk music's influence on synthpop, with the end result sounding like would happen if The Cure and Dead Can Dance make a synthpop collab album.
are you fucking retarded
Maybe. I mean I have no idea what everyone's issue with me is, so maybe I'm just severely autistic.
Pretty incredible, I keep coming back to it. I loved the surprise of the second portion of So Falls The World the first time.
The vocals ruin it for me
Don't worry about it those dorks are just being dweebs for p much no reason
Vocals are great mostly, i dont like the vocals in Rolling stone though
...
I really liked it. People forget to put this in the Best of 2017 lists. Maybe its forgettable..
never listened to ulver before this, but I was familiar with Daniel O Sullivan and his work with Mothlite, and this album reminds me a lot of Mothlite. youtu.be
Rolling Stone is easily the worst song on there, though.
Album is very enjoyable in general.
It's just one guy sperging for no reason, I just told you not to worry since your post was pretty vague and not pretentious at all
First and only album I've heard by them.
Far from what I'm usually into... but I like it.
wrong, > "though"
Criminally overlooked
it's far from perfect, but it's absolutely worth a listen, and there are some great tracks
