Learn a trade. Corps isn't forever and you'll need a career after. Trust. Learn as much as you can.

Find out if the chowhall has Taco Tuesdays.

Just keep your mouth shut and do exactly as you are told. You'll make it through fine.

Be sure and use "Zir" because you don't want to assume pronouns.

Throw a mattress in the swimming pool, it'll take a crane to get it out.

That's the game plan, thanks

The drill sergeant will be looking out for strong-willed individuals with leadership qualities. Whenever he tries to berate or belittle you, give back as good as you get and when he is issuing orders to the group, always make sure to add to whatever he says with some ideas of your own.

You'll be earmarked for a promotion, especially if you are seen to be disciplining the other trainees when they don't obey your orders.

Just graduated navy boot camp hooyah

How's your asshole?

100% this.

expect to be treated like a nigger
they treat every one equally - like a nigger

Show me your Faggot face user ..

Try not to stand out unless you're really physically fit... Meaning run 3 miles in under 18 minutes, do 20 pullups and 100 crunches in the allotted time. Otherwise do exactly as you're told. Nothing more, nothing less.

It is all in the mind, physical starts at run at your own pace as long as your can do the little better than minimums. It builds would quickly.

MUHREENS = KILL KILL KILL

Slay that dragon.

>Aspires to make $62/day for 24-7 on call job, boss will be Donald Trump
Kek, fuck your life, user

Just remember to yell really loud, do as your told, and address everyone as "Sir". It worked for Forrest Gump.

I'm under the impression that to max the running its 3 miles in under 18 minutes. I can't keep that pace for 3 miles I'm around 23mins. I can max the sit-ups and pull-ups sometimes. In the grand scheme will a lower run time affect things

>$62/day
>as a boot muhrin
not likely.

Get enough penis there semen?

Just remember that you're never going to do anything right

Tell them you're from Texas

Save yourself some time and commit suicide now

23 mind is fine that’s still a 1st class PFT and you’re still fast enough to run in formation. Just don’t start smoking in SOI or MCT or your run time will start to suck and you’ll never get promoted and you’ll be labeled a turd your whole career

Always call your rifle a gun.

Eh, you can make E-3 about as soon as you learn to tie your bootlaces.

don't listen to anyone here.

just tell anyone who pretends to be your superior:

"i know... about the stuff."

if they get confused, add:

"i'm hip to the bathroom scene."

you'll be smoking cigars in no time.

Best advice yet

I don't get it :/

If the DI asks why you joined his Corps, tell him you joined so you could learn to skip rope properly

read this:

Keeping Faith: A Father-Son Story About Love and the United States Marine Corps

Better do what he says then.

always insist on the 'special stuff'4

No you fuck stick. That'll get him in trouble.

Tell the DI you joined so you could be in the navy

The first time your instructor shouts at you, stand up to him. Push him to the ground and point your rifle at him, he will respect your strength and see you as a fellow alpha.

DONT
VOLUNTEER
FOR
SHIT
heroes want to volunteer for billets to seem like good guys ... let em, keep your head down and your mouth shut and you'll be fine

When you meet your kill hat, tell him you're interested in cucking his wife. Drill instructors are always cucks for some reason.

Don't ever refer to yourself as "recruit." Once you got off the bus, you're a Marine. Don't let your DI tell you otherwise

OP in a few months

Read Starship Troopers right the fuck now. Don't watch the movie, READ THE BOOK.

Depending on MOS, can be a lot better than a lot of civilian jobs. Plus some of those tag chasers are pretty hot. Serving under Trump would be better than when I served between W and nigger.

Wear this shirt when you get there.

hey thats my favorite shirt!

I hear boot camp is summer camp compared to 10 years ago

this
wisdom

Kill bodies is the best response to that question.

White socialist welfare queens mascaraing as nationalists are the worst..

Yeah, they're not allowed to hit recruits anymore

He's joining the USMC, it's implied.

Punch your instructor in the face to show dominance.

Well I went to Navy boot camp so I can give you some boot camp tips. You're going to have to wake up early every morning and you'll have to do lots of pushups and lots of running. You're going to have to fold your clothes and make your bed perfectly and they will time you on that. You'll also have to take exams on things like rank and recognition and fire fighting so study all that. And if this will be your first time shooting a rifle, the first time will be a bit scary so prepare yourself for that.

...

ITT

avoid getten shot

How's the sleep? Do you get any?

You’re an idiot, not really advice, just an opinion. My advice would be learn to think for yourself.

One you dont do anything related to fire fighting in USMC boot camp and two, if shooting a gun is "scary" the first time, then you're a huge pussy.

You will get 6-8 hours of sleep every night guarenteed unless your DI's arent following the rules but they are pretty strict on it now

Except for the crucible where youll get like 3ish hours a night 3 MRE's for the whole 2 or 3 days. Its not that bad really though.

I wasn't the guy who said this but imo I wasn't "scared" per se, rather I just didn't want to be the guy who fucks up ya know? Pretty stressful

I don't eat breakfast regularly and I know I have to do I will but I'm expecting myself to puke haha will that be an issue?

>navy boot camp
holy fucking kek

You arent forced to eat. but you will eat. im just saying. the amount of stress on your mind and body will make you hungry.

1. No matter how well you do, you WILL BE yelled at. Hard.

2. Never, ever forget that you are all part of the same team, and MUST bond and help each other. Basic training for any branch is about two things: breaking down your bad habits, and laying the groundwork for new, better ones.

3. The more you sweat in training, the less you bleed in battle.

4. Do NOT see color/race in your fellow marines. Treat them all like your brothers, which they truly are.

5. If you succeed, you will know a pride stronger than most know exist.

We'll we had to sleep in small bunk beds so you'll have to get used to that. Sleep time was 10pm and wake up time was 4am. But of course they would wake us up early lots of times. So the beds aren't as comfy as your bed at home, but you'll get some sleep.

The drill sergeant is looking for leaders. He'll no right away what you're made up. That is why it is always important to question authority. If he tells you to do push-ups, ask him why. If he makes you run more than 1 mile each day, just tell him you're tired. Remind him that this is America, land of opportunity.. a man is free to run less than one mile if he's tired.

Is there anyone whose gonna try some gay shit? Because I don't want to fight my brothers but like nahhhhhh

idk what year you went to bootcamp but thats not how it is anymore. i went 2014

Sounds like good advice thanks

nobodys gunna be doing gay shit. theres too much going on. You probably wont even get a boner the whole time you're there. too much stress. from the moment you wake up to the moment you go to bed.

Pride comes before the fall.

Learn to shine boots.

Be able to pass the PFT before you leave. But ONLY do the bare minimun at first. They wanna see improvement.

Keep tour mouth shut.

Always be the first hand in the air when the DI asks for a volunteer.

Make sure mommy aends u a care pacakge a week with enough ahit to share. The DIs love it when thwy aee a recruit sharing his pogie bait.

Whenever you respond to your DI, scream loud. The DI's are going to pick out the quiet and non confident ones and fuck them up the most throughout boot camp. Also don't get dessert. ever. just don't fucking do it. Btw are you San Diego or the wrong coast? :^)

aint nobody been shining boots in boot camp since like 05

tl;dr, show strong individualism that displays an ability to stay tough under pressure OR give your platoon an authority figure through leading by example

Active Marine for 5 years, and do exactly this.
Nobody gives a fuck who the guide was in boot camp. Nobody cares who the honor platoon was. Keep your head down, do what you're told, and do it on time. And you won't get fucked with (more than normal)

airforce is 10x better

The fuck? Damn snowflakes ruining my beloved corps

You're about to go through the most half assed training in military history.

Marines basic isn't training per se it's more like many months of antiquated military hazing.

Marine training is hard because the people before you were trained the same way.

You will be humiliated, yelled at, made to hurt and suffer but they don't hit you to do that.

You don't listen well the other people in your group will also feel your punishment and hate you for it.

The food is shit by normal standards but if you come from a canned corn and boiled potatoes family you will think it's fine dining at times.

You will cry, you may wet yourself even as much as completely pee yourself. You will get angry with your trainers, yourself others, you will be angry with the air you breathe.

None of which make you harder or a better fighter, it's a initiation pure and simple.

You want to pass you will pass. Be the grey man and don't stand out. But fucking listen some shit could seriously injure maybe even kill you.

All of which was to train soft momma's boys from corn country and get them angry and to fight. You will forever wear the scars of your caveman military training and be 15th in fighting capability being beating but the Dutch, Canadians, Brits, even fellow Army Rangers.

More than anything, remember that you are you. Forget what ever movie, game, person has told you once you start. Never forget who you are and why you are there. Little goals, the next day, the next meal, the next step.

Also remember that no matter how well or poorly you do in bootcamp aside from possible meritorious promotion, your boot camp experience good or bad wont affect the rest of your marine corps career in basically any way. nobody in your unit when you get there is gunna give two shits about how well you did in boot camp, all that matters to them is how well you perform in your job, whatever that may be. what job are you may i ask

6. Go to church on Sunday. Even if you aren't religious that hour or so will be a great haven. You'll learn to appreciate it.

7. You don't want to think about when you finish boot camp. You want to think about finishing one day or one exercise routine. Keep your goals small and in sight. Every day completed is a victory. Every exercise completed is a victory.

8. Remember that the drill sergeant is out to bust your balls. He will insult you up and down but just remember that's what he's there for. Keep your cool, think of him standing there is a ballet outfit and just get to the end of the exercise/day.

No problem. The best thing to do is give in and just go with it. Everything they teach you is about staying alive, and trying to find excuses just lessens your chances of success.

And remember, millions already did what you're about to do, and survived and flourished. Statistically speaking many were weaker than you, with more problems.

They did it, and although you will doubt yourself, you will to. If you let yourself.

Good luck, and Semper Fi, marine!

'URAH!

May the force be with you

Airforce and marine corps are two entirely different services that have different mission statements and serve different purposes. Apples to oranges my friend.

That's why he joined the navy...

Do your best to stand out from the crowd. Be vocal and volunteer at every opportunity to do extra tasks, giving your sergeant advice on how practices can be improved.

How long did the lube last?

Ask your DS what every day is. It is a good one for sure. I found out real fast in the NG.
