Why is the standard of football in this league so abysmal when it has essentially unlimited money?

Why is the standard of football in this league so abysmal when it has essentially unlimited money?

Overpaying for shit players

>Pogba, Ibra, Bailly, Mkhitaryan
>shit players

>kante, costa, luiz, pedro
>shit players

Higher stakes means teams are less willing to take risks on and off the pitch and strongly prioritise short term success, and a generally ignorant footballing culture means people wouldn't appreciate good football anyway

this

Because EPLEL is a league where Stones is the most expensive defender
Because EPLEL is a league where Sterling is the most expensive wing
Because EPLEL is a league where Pogba is the most expensive midfield
Because EPLEL is a league where Kante (a former benched french ligue 2 player) is the best player
Because EPLEL is a league where Mahrez (a former benched french ligue 2 player) is the best player
Because EPLEL is a league where Martial as been bought 80 fucking millions
Because EPLEL is a league where Zlatan (an almost retired and free player aged 35) is literally best player of the historically best anglo club

kek

Same reason why England is so terrible internationally, complacency and a generally poor footballing culture

>generally ignorant footballing culture

Its simply not true.

sterling is actually good though??

this but unironically

>when it has essentially unlimited money?
That's irrelevant when everyone charges us more and also the Spanish clubs pay higher wages

The law of diminishing returns: a player on £200k p/w isn't twice as good as a player on £100k p/w.

But the majority of PL teams are foreign-owned, have foreign managers and their squads are made up mostly of foreign players.

>messi isn't twice as good as rooney

So which is the best? Germany or Spain?

>Messi earns twice as much as Rooney

Thanks for proving my point, dickhead.

surely messi is the opposite of your point

Messi is significantly better than Rooney, but their respective wages don't reflect that.

Paying more doesn't guarantee you get a better player.

They should promote more Englishmen and start buying less foreigners

Yeah it's so shit it still has 2 teams in yurop in April.
One of them relegation battlers and he other fighting for 5th

when liverpool do this everyone bullies them lol

Only Real Madrid and Barcelona do. Stop equating our league with the two cancers killing it.

Agreed, but developing talent takes time and could harm a team in the short term, which would cost the club a lot of money these days

But when you look at the great English teams of previous years, they always had a strong English core of at least a couple of world class players. At the moment it's hard to call any English players world class

>Messi is significantly better than Rooney
Stopped reading right there, bud

Unlimited money means shittier scouting, mass molestation means traumatized players

No gameplan besides parking the bus and/or hoofing it long praying someone gets on the end of it, even the """big""" teams do this quite often

>No gameplan
>Managed by Pep, Mou, Conte, Klopp etc
>They had gameplans in other countries
