his little "wooooo"'s on that song are so good t b h

Glory Days is one of the worst songs ever written by a human being.

That's a pretty emo sounding line m8. I don't understand the logic behind using that as exhibit 1 of your brilliant dadrock defense.

This. What kind of person is that song even appealing to?

DUDE EMOTIONS

sorry it isn't your friendly nigger talking about his gold chainz

it was mocking the "glory days" you retards

exactly - and trying to set up the (completely lost on the masses) message that our consumerist idyl is bunk and we are being played by the advertisers that sell us war and the idea that America was ever greater in the past than it is now.

fucking kikes, eh

Dadrock is not known for being particularly emotional, Springsteen being one of the exceptions. It's usually just about shit like rockin' or rollin' or screwin' or smokin' or boozin' or cruisin', brainless shit like that. So you can't take an emotional line like that and pretend like that's somehow representative of the entire dadrock genre.

I disagree, I mean unless you think Dad Rock is RATT and 80s shit not Van Morrison and CCR or what have you. You could say Pearl Jam is Dad Rock

you're dealing with pleb central

Dadrock is 70s sounding piano driven rock

>Springsteen
>Dadrock
More like granddad rock...

underage &b

Thin Lizzy?

My dad who's an old man dying of cancer now saw the Boss in Jersey back in the early 70s. My favorite of his songs is "Racing in the Street"
Seriously one of the most powerful songs ever. youtube.com/watch?v=IrxKkELQJiQ

Yep, they're great. My dad doesn't listen to them.

People who aren't numales

I mean, my dad was into New Order, The Smiths, Talking Heads, Pet Shop Boys... Dadrock is kind of a moot point for me, really - and for a lot of others as well.

>numales
bruce springsteen is a draft-dodging nu male himself

This.
>The way it was saved until the fade-out.
Literal goosebumps.

bump

When did you realise that one day your music taste will be dad music?

Howdu feel that racing in the street is just a rip off of dancing in the street. Word for word melody replication in the chorus. Just replace racing with dancing.

Summers here and the time is right for dancing in the street.

>Dancing in the street

Callin' out around the world
Are you ready for a brand new beat
Summer's here and the time is right
For dancing in the street

They're dancing in Chicago (chicago echo)
Down in New Orleans (down in New Orleans echo)
In New York City
All we need is music, sweet music
There'll be music everywhere

There'll be swingin' and swayin' and records playing
Dancing in the street

Oh it doesn't matter what you wear
Just as long as you are there
So come on ev'ry guy grab a girl
Everywhere around the world

There'll be dancing
Dancing in the street

It's just an invitation across the nation
A chance for folks to meet
There'll be laughing, singing and music swinging
Dancing in the street

Philadelphia, PA
Baltimore and D.C. now
Can't forget the Motor City
All we need is music, sweet music
There'll be music everywhere
There'll be swingin', swayin' and records playing
And dancing in the street

Oh, it doesn't matter what you wear
Just as long as you are there
So come on, every guy grab a girl
Everywhere around the world

There'll be dancing
Dancing in the street
Way down in L.A., every day
Dancing in the street
Across the ocean too, me an you
Dancing in the street

>Racing in the street

I got a sixty-nine Chevy with a 396
Fuelie heads and a Hurst on the floor
She’s waiting tonight down in the parking lot
Outside the Seven-Eleven store
Me and my partner Sonny built her straight out of scratch
And he rides with me from town to town
We only run for the money got no strings attached
We shut ’em up and then we shut ’em down

Tonight tonight the strip’s just right
I wanna blow 'em off in my first heat
Summer’s here and the time is right
For racin’ in the street

We take all the action we can meet
And we cover all the northeast states
When the strip shuts down we run ’em in the street
From the fire roads to the interstate
Some guys they just give up living
And start dying little by little piece by piece
Some guys come home from work and wash up
Then go racin’ in the street

Tonight tonight the strip’s just right
I wanna blow ’em all out of their seats
We're calling out around the world
We’re going racin’ in the street

I met her on the strip three years ago
In a Camaro with this dude from L.A
I blew that Camaro off my back and drove that little girl away
But now there’s wrinkles around my baby’s eyes
And she cries herself to sleep at night
When I come home the house is dark
She sighs “Baby did you make it all right”
She sits on the porch of her daddy’s house
But all her pretty dreams are torn
She stares off alone into the night
With the eyes of one who hates for just being born

For all the shut-down strangers and hot rod angels
Rumbling through this promised land
Tonight my baby and me we’re gonna ride to the sea
And wash these sins off our hands

Tonight tonight the highway’s bright
Out of our way mister you best keep
Cause summer’s here and the time is right
We’re goin’ racin’ in the street

Nice ripoff...Racing in the street took 2 lines from Dancing in the street

His draft dodging was perfectly reasonable

I honestly don't care what anyone else says, Springsteen is incredible and I love his music.

Lol nice unnecessary lyric posting imbecile. You dont think i dont know that? Anyways, springsteen admits it himself and thats enough for someone to sue for a writing credit so fuck off back to wellington little boy.

He's one of the all time greats. Maybe THE all time great. I don't think music gets much better than Bruce.

Do you feel stupid now?

No

Go on just admit it. You feel a little bit silly for posting 40 something lines of lyrics that no ones going to read when you could have just said that racing in the street only copies the chorus. You silly cunt lol.

I lived in Jersey for two years, lived in Albuquerque for 3, lived in St Louis the rest, and in all 3 places I did not meet a single person who could even stomach Springsteen's music.

I mean, he was so reviled by everyone I've ever known that they'd switch the station if BOOOOOOOORN IN THE USAAA came on. Seriously, I can't think of a single other artist with a bigger disconnect between critics and the public aside from maybe AC/DC

reading his autobiography atm... very inspiring stuff

Damn was gonna take it up to uni but was far too big.

No. Theres a disconnect for that album born i the usa and the stuff after because many things that get big in the spotlight get reviled and people only usually know an artists stuff in the spotlight. But listen to the albums before and hes a very differerent singer. Most people will never know that springsteen had a 7 minute jazz rock song and funky r&b with a stevie wonder clavichord.

>Ctrl C Ctrl V is so hard
>I cant read and compare lyrics
>btw this is a completely ripoff song - even though it is completely different
Neck yourself

Darkness is best Boss album

I love Glory Days

Nebraska is. But darkness is good too.

Its on record springsteen saying he ripped it off. Just like badlands was ripped from dont let me be misunderstood by the animals. And prove it all nighy was from a chance conversation with robert de niro in a taxi cab.

Wrong. Both are great but The Wild, the Innocent and the E Street Shuffle is the best.

My parents are in their mid-60s. I'm too old for this board, but my parents had kids late so I'm probably here because of autism.

This isn't Dad Rock. Its working class asshole from Jersey/Staten Island/Suffolk County core. Other examples include Billy Joel and Mike Francesa
