>can't close the deal against a garbage candidate >needs publicity >comes to the Emperor with a debate >Emperor accepts under the stipulations that a news network give all it's proceeds to charity >no legitimate news network is willing to fork over $10 million for a sanctioned debate that would draw millions of viewers >Emperor backs out >bernouts cry because bernie would have gotten a ton of "bernie won" press and hillary would have gotten a ton of negative press
I AM $1.4 MILLION IN DEBT AND SINCE IT'S ALL COLLEGE LOANS THEY WILL *NEVER* GO AWAY. I NEED THIS.
I'VE JUST DONATED ANOTHER $27 TO BERNIE'S CAMPAIGN. YOU'LL BE SORRY WHEN YOU'RE UP AGAINST THE WALL!

>Bernie challenges Trump to a debate >Trump says only if $10m is raised >Bob Arum says he'll host it, give $20m and be unbiased + 80% of the revenue it generates to charity >Trump gets scared because it's happening >Backs out breaking his agreement >retards will defend this
inb4 shill I love Trump but I'm legitimately disappointed in him. I'm still voting for him in November, but god damn how can anyone defend him? There's nothing but net gains for both Trump and Sanders, because it's 2 hours of blasting Hillary and revealed to low-information voters all her scandals WHILE Trump could play the bigger man and be polite and discuss his alternative solutions. This right here could fuck up the entire election, and people who say otherwise are idiots.

Yeah, I don't like it either. I think it's a missed opportunity but at the same time it makes some sense because Bernie is a crazy old man with nothing to lose.

This is bait, but Donald Trump took a million and turned it into billions. You turned it into debt.

>Bob Arum says he'll host it, Where Trump's terms for Bob Arum to pony up the money? What's that? No? He wanted a network (FOX, CNN, MSNBC, etc) to cough it up instead? Yes?

I don't think Trump wants to waste his time on some old socialist who isn't even getting the nomination

>Implying old man Sanders wouldn't aggressively attack Trump during the entire debate at every turn
>implying Bernard wouldn't defend Hillary at every turn
I'm disappointed that Trump isn't debating Sanders, I think he could handle it, but let's be clear here, Sanders would never be civil or chummy with Trump. I don't get where people are getting this idea from.
Remember all those republican debates where everyone was out for Trump's blood? This would have been no different. Had Trump done what people were saying and try to be buds with Bernie, people would say Trump looked weak. In fact, it would have been a no-win for Trump no matter what since everyone proclaims him as the "racist" and "dumb" candidate.
On one hand it would have been cool to see the two of them go head to head, on the other, it probably would have been a case of "damned if you do, damned if you don't" for Trump.
Remember, Sanders orchestrated this thing with the whole "imma ask Kimmel to ask Trump if he'd sit down and talk with me, let's debate". Nothing good would come out of it for Trump and it would be free publicity for Sanders. Trump should focus on Clinton since people will forget about Bernie in the next couple of weeks.
Carter Bennett
Bern is a democrat to the core and would sacrifice his cred to damage trump for shils benefit.
Jeremiah Bailey
Huh? Trump proposed the debate first and Sanders responded affirmatively.

"Bernie never challenged Trump" >"Here's a question from Bernie, he asked: Hillary Clinton backed out of an agreement to debate me before the June 7th primaries. Are you prepared to debate the major issues facing the state and the country before the primaries?
To which Trump responded, word by word. >"Yes I am, how much is he going to pay me? If I debated him, he would have such high ratings and I think I should give it to a worthy charity." youtube.com/watch?v=vzO-JYjEcHE
Let's put aside that 2 major TV networks already reached out to the Sanders campaign and focus on Bob Arum. He said he'd negotiate a deal with a major networking studio and have it pay for view, cheaply but he'd donate the majority of the money PLUS $20m of his own money to charity. What's your excuse now? You think a major news networking company wouldn't pick up free publicity if the costs were covered? Retard.
Because this is Trump's best chance at looking presidential and taking a moderate position to attract left voters, he has so much to gain from this and so much to lsoe from not debating.
Sanders couldn't take an aggressive approach because Trump would simply pull out the >"Why weren't you so aggressive with Hillary?" It's a cop out, that's all it is. Many of the Sanders voters will switch to Hillary because Trump is a big bad ebil racist, until Trump crashes this narrative by being the bigger man and acting presidential in a proper debate he'll never attract enough voters to become the president.

And did they accept to Trump's terms of giving the proceeds to charity?
Jason Butler
Alright, you seem to be new to politics so I'll elaborate. This election cycle is about outsiders, there's a strong sentiment on both the left and right. Far-left progressives that vote for Bernie know the truth about Hillary, but at the current point they still think she's the better alternative over Trump. By breaking down this narrative that he's a racist bigot that the MSM paints him to be, he'd attract these voters to his side. A similar situation happened in 2012 with Ron Paul, Mitt Romney debated him and lost horribly though which is probably what Trump is afraid of. Alienating people even further by fucking up, which is understandable but still pathetic in my eyes.
Some of you Trump supporters really are touched. >Emperor accepts under the stipulations that a news network give all it's proceeds to charity >bernouts cry because bernie would have gotten a ton of "bernie won" press and hillary would have gotten a ton of negative press
Last part is pure speculation but how are you sticking the fact that Donald backed out on bernouts? Fucking inbred, mongoloid, bastard child read your own fucking green text
Henry Edwards
Trump said $10 was enough, but in his press statement he said >Now that I am the presumptive Republican nominee, it seems inappropriate that I would debate the second place finisher. Likewise, the networks want to make a killing on these events and are not proving to be too generous to charitable causes, in this case, women’s health issues.
Now $20m being hosted on a major news network isn't enough apparently, with two major studios already agreeing to his agreement? Get fucking real. He backed out because he didn't want to be Mitt Romney ver. 2016 youtube.com/watch?v=6NRONC4WYF0

>It says 3 are interested >CBS News and Fox News have been in contact with the campaigns about a possible debate. Yes. Interested but have they agreed? They very well could be trying to haggle. Nowhere in that article does it say it was final
Your article also mentions this >Fox News originally floated the idea of a Trump-sanders debate in March So you're saying Fox agreed to Trump's terms before he made them?
> well they've agreed to do it No where in anything you posted have they said they agreed and the statement from bernie doesn't list the two who you claim have, all i want is definitive proof, give it up or kill yourself

>All I want is definitive proof You're grasping at straws trying to assume Trump's position. >"He wants the networks to prove it!" The fact of the matter is numerous people and organizations have stepped up, the information regarding the deals haven't been publicized because Trump backed out before Sanders even released the statement in the first place. The fact of the matter is, no matter how hard you try to pick at straws - Trump said no to the debate. He agreed on the Jimmy Kimmel show, then when people wanted to host it he said no he doesn't want to debate anymore. He never even insinuated that news networks had to pay for the debate. Common sense dictates that small no-name news organizations will not have enough money to fork over $10-20m to host this debate, only a few major organizations can do it. But it doesn't matter since before any information could even be finalized or published, Trump backed out. It was only a day or two, this was a planned debate that would happen before the June 7th primary. If Trump's demands weren't met, he should've posted online saying he needed more for such an event. Instead he went back on his word and said no, only a day or two later. He's fucked up and you retards will defend him to the death, it's pathetic.
Caleb Thomas
>.002 cents has been delivered to your account by correct the record. I hope you choke on your hillpill fag. You shills should give up. Chase Russell
Not new to politics at all. I just wanted to see what kind of reasoning you were trying to make out. Then I read this response. I've sat on it for over half an hour now. I've told a few other people what was written. There's now three of us wondering how this would benefit Trump or Bernie in any way. Bernie would still lose, Trump would no longer be able to use every official resource, which is a gigantic loss against a snake that will only debate him on a sanctioned stage. I'm not going to call you an idiot or a Shillbot, but I am going to tell you that your reasoning has no substance.
Zachary Sullivan
>You're grasping at straws trying to assume Trump's position. Asking you to prove your claims is me grasping at straws? Really nigger?
>the information regarding the deals haven't been publicized because Trump backed out before Sanders even released the statement What is the point of not releasing that info, it could be definitive proof of two networks willing to meet Trump's terms and him ignoring them and could be used against him why not release the networks, it makes no sense
>He never even insinuated that news networks had to pay for the debate
>At a press conference in North Dakota on Thursday, Mr. Trump suggested that he was serious about the debate on the condition that the networks would donate $10 million to $15 million of the proceeds to charities that support women’s health causes.
Jaxson Howard
The biggest kek is that Hillcunt fans and Bernouts are both dumb enough to believe that ANYTHING happening from Trump's camp is not 100% pre-planned and done knowing the outcome in advance.
Seriously, when will they learn, they're up against someone who they can't beat no matter what their faggy hyper-emotional rants insist is the case otherwise?
John Cooper
>Asking you to prove your claims? Which I did, sucks that your reading comprehension is bad.
>What's the point of not releasing the info? They're under an agreement and the information shouldn't be released until a deal is reached, which it won't because Trump backed out.
>Mr. Trump suggested that he was serious about the debate on the condition that the networks would donate $10 million to $15 million of the proceeds to charities that support women’s health causes.
I was wrong on this point, but according to the article you linked several networks reached out to Trump as well. Why didn't Trump publicize that information? If the networks were offering such a shoddy deal, he could've made a deal to get more. His press statement just seems like a copout, unwilling to debate the "second place winner" despite formerly agreeing on doing it. It's been like a day or two, the debate has a deadline of two weeks. There's no need to rush and cancel the debate altogether even if according to Trump, they didn't offer much. But this is really taking Sanders and Trump's words at face value without any more information about how much the news networks offered, which is pointless to argue about further. Trump is a businessman and if the amount wasn't enough, he should've striked a deal. It's what he does. But he didn't and ran away from the debate so soon after it was planned, pathetic.
Carter Harris
>Which I did >I say i won i win No sorry, i asked for the two networks, and yet no networks.
>They're under an agreement And now they're not so i ask again what is the point in keeping it concealed, what do they have to lose? It seems they have a lot to gain.
> But this is really taking Sanders and Trump's words at face value without any more information about how much the news networks offered, which is pointless to argue about further. True, so you agree your argument is weak?
>Trump is a businessman and if the amount wasn't enough, he should've striked a deal. Sometimes you have to know when to walk away from a bad deal, remember the veterans charity which Trump initially wanted Fox to cough up money to for the GOP debate.
Michael Bailey
>ran away from the debate so soon after it was planned How was it planned? Now you're going against your argument. You throw the thought that maybe a shitty deal was at play and could have been worked out and yet say in the same post that it was planned? You argue like a retard, i'm done with you.
Blake Campbell
>i asked for the two networks, and yet no networks. This, why the fuck can't a single person name-drop a major news network?
Justin Perez
>I asked for the two network It's pure speculation, but two networks supposedly agreed to Trump's terms.
>They're under an agreement Why didn't Trump release this said information proving they didn't give enough money either? Neither candidate has released this information, wait a few days and perhaps it'll surface.
>> But this is really taking Sanders and Trump's words at face value without any more information about how much the news networks offered, which is pointless to argue about further.
You're taking Trump's words solely at face value while I'm only using Sanders words as one of the many sources I've listed, big difference.
>Sometimes you have to know when to walk away from a bad deal, remember the veterans charity which Trump initially wanted Fox to cough up money to for the GOP debate. Oh yes, having people donate tens of millions of dollars to charity and attracting voters on the left while sabotaging Hillary's campaign is a bad deal. Holy shit what a retard.
>75318223 Running away from this debate just like Trump, eh?
Because nothing's been released yet, all we know is 2 networks supposedly reached out to both Trump and Sanders and agreed with the terms. There's not many networks that can fork up $10-20m, take your guess from a few of the popular ones that can afford it. ABC, CBS and Fox News expressed interest. There's less than 10 networks that can dish out that much money for a debate, and 2 agreed. Common sense would say that two of those three went ahead and reached out to them.
Hudson Lewis
Watch the Kimmel live show clip again you nip. Kimmel had read a statement from Bernie who asked for the debate. Trump simply said sure. Bernie proposed it through Kimmel.
Cooper Lewis
Sanders proposed it through Kimmel, Trump said yes and on Twitter later that same day Sanders said he was happy Trump accepted and was ready to debate. That doesn't count as responding affirmatively? I think it does.
Hunter Diaz

So why isn't Bernie just naming the networks? For all we know, Bernie could be talking about the fucking "Young Turks", since that's arguably a news network.
Bentley Lopez
The Young Turks said they'd pay $1m to host the debate, Trump said he wanted at least $10m. According to the press report, they agreed on Trump's terms so TYT are disqualified from hosting the event.
Carter Gutierrez
>google Bob Arum >he's some faggot with an axe to grind against Trump >he's completely uncapable of being "unbiased" against Trump >you are a fucking queer
Thomas Howard
Paying a network to host the debate =/= own bias against Trump. Nice correlation, too bad they have nothing together since it'd be a 3rd party that'd be doing the debate and not someone directly affiliated with Bob Arum.
Luke Allen

Kayden Jackson
>implying he would put up $20 million and not have a contract that certain anti-Trump conditions must be met by the hosting network
