Techstep is made for Cyberpunk.

...

Does synthwave count? If so, Kavinsky is awesome:

youtu.be/qT0iQRjHbW4

Never heard of Leftfield before, but damn, this shit is tight.

The new machine girl album

youtube.com/watch?v=1cDsXy5zmpM

Names of the albums?

If cyberpunk is a genre, then this must surely be the most classic release.

I like all the layers and textures all overlapping in a complex way.

...

youtube.com/watch?v=GLFV4WCLNrI

Last Front Line Assembly post from me, but I love this album of theirs also, very layered and reminds me of the whole Robocop aesthetic.

I'd also thoroughly recommend Total Terror I and II, as these are very atmospheric and cyberpunky, but have a more primitive construction, uses a lot of old drum machines but has a great raw sound.

Probably my favourite double album of all time.

is pic related cyberpunk? it feels very futuristic to me

youtube.com/watch?v=bazQz14O0lo

this is just good dnb

Stakker/Humanoid - Stakker/Humanoid (1988)
youtube.com/watch?v=6DnfjMbu-Pg

the peak of cyberpunk aesthetics

this a cringe thread?

kavnisky is poser core

not enough synthwave and vaporwave so no

never mind I found it

the orb and orbital were both pretty ubiquitous at the time

youtube.com/watch?v=kvAVFoWS0JQ

i feel like the only music that makes me think cyberpunk is the vangelis blade runner soundtrack idk

yeah, spooky was ubiquitous. other nyc dnb would have included soulslinger and whatever from Liquid Sky, his label/store

Not even the GITS ost?
youtube.com/watch?v=GvaC6cIrntI
I want more atmospheric stuff like this.

youtube.com/watch?v=35WpMHa2Vhs

Kavinsky is miami-by-night core. Not cyberpunk at all.

I suppose Akira also fits

youtube.com/watch?v=ujPzvylY1GA

None of that is new, it was all released in the late 90s/early 00s. No one makes D&B like that anymore. The closest to it would be this, which also fits Cyberpunk a little.

Oh. I read 2015 and thought it was all new. Shame. Granted I'm not a fan of DnB anymore, but that classic, raw, techy sound is still enjoyable. Nowadays it's all too sterile and boring-sounding.

That album seems pretty nice too desu.

very dark city vibes
youtube.com/watch?v=775wbRZC23Y

Or any other albums by them.

Such a shame no one plays this anymore.

One of the best

...

I think pop. 1280 is one of the few bands that could be labeled cyber punk. Them and ATR

Yeah, I'm not sure if Kavinsky counts but it's awesome regardless

This. Despite playing on a sort of "retro sci-fi" theme at times, the lyrics of the songs are very cyberpunk, especially "3030" and "Virus".

Absolutely.

Perturbator is Sup Forums tier garbage.

Gonna post some actual "cyber punk", as in electronic punkish music from that mid late 70s time.

>does synthwave count?

no, fuck off

has some cyber-punk moments musically but overall I find the soundtrack very tribal, ambient and spiritual (other than like one song, you know which one)

Everyone's posted the usual stuff, just gotta post this as well. It's got that old school synth feel but with footwork rhythms.

youtu.be/uyhwpmnEoNA

Lorn is really neat. He had a song in Beyond the Black Rainbow, which is a neat cyber punk movie I would recommend.

youtu.be/mauV2NdCs60

Thats too literal. When I think of cyberpunk its shit that would go good with watching Blade Runner or Minority Report. Not literal electronic sounding punk music, you may has well have posted Billy Idols Cyberpunk album.

While the lyrics don't necessarily fit, I think the high tech low life dystopian aspect of Cyberpunk comes through really well in that music.

>you may has well have posted Billy Idols Cyberpunk album.

You mean the album inspired by Neuromancer and the cyberdelic movement? Sounds pretty cyb to me, choomba.

...

Lorn is great. You'll enjoy this if you haven't heard it already:
wednesdaysound.bandcamp.com/album/lorn-dolor-drugs

Yeah but its hitting the nail on the head for making Cyberpunk music. There's nothing vague about it.

>There's nothing vague about it.

And why should it be vague?

But it would fit perfectly for this topic, no? Cyberpunk based lyrics, meanwhile the music is rock music with a heavy electronic and industrial influence. Cyberpunk doesn't necessitate "music that sounds the closest to Vangelis' BR OST", that's doing a great disservice to the genre.

That album sounds close to a KMFDM album. The video for Shock to the System appears to be inspired by Tetsuo: The Iron Man. One version of the album also shipped with a floppy disk that had a lot of digital art that's characteristic of old websites and cyberpunk imagery of the time
youtube.com/watch?v=sQHM4KmDstM

akira soundtrack
gits soundtrack
lain soundtrack
dr steel
arai tasuku

It was a really good album. Why was it so poorly received?

Because Billy Idol had a pretty characteristic sound and diverged from it with that album. People weren't ready for it at the time and didn't get the whole "cyberpunk" concept. Personal computers were still pretty new, so it was harder for people to grasp

I just think it can sound corny like singing about flying cars. Just think Deltron 3030.
Its like a group a friends were forced to make some cyberpunk music after reading William Gibson's Neuromancer.

this aged much better than leftism imo

If that's his best, I'd hate to hear his worst.

Don't tempt your fortune.

>it was in a video game once
>Sup Forums tier garbage
We're not in high school. Nobody thinks you're interesting by being contrary.

In a genre where brand name-dropping and creating a realistic consumer biosphere is part of the visual aesthetic, this album is king.

Unironically and just for these guys (but also because it captures the flavor and aesthetic perfectly regardless of what they've said):

>no, fuck off
>Perturbator is Sup Forums tier garbage.

I've just been listening to Tangerine Dream for days straight. Shiet

I feel like this is great cyber rave material

>it was in a video game once
Synthwave has been Sup Forums shit ever since they got hold of Kavinsky.

Your opinion is automatically invalid if you think association with things you dislike somehow diminishes something.

Bump

They're all albums by Access to Arasaka
