nice, im listening to fifteen/finite material context atm
im looking for recs for industrial with a bit of a techno vibe to it like drew mcdowall - unnatural channel, accidia - god is black, or any of haraam's noisier stuff. yall got anything?
I'm not to familiar with that style. Some of Muslimgauze is supposed to be techno influenced. I don't know which albums.
There's Ansome and Perc but they're more techno than industrial.

listening to this right now
anyone here listen to ecocannibalism by dust bowl or crackdown by Ames Sanglantes? im downloading them right now and im just wondering if theyre any good.

feral society has been a huge influence on me and my future noise recordings, and i have collaborated with one of the users from the project
Holy crap, this record is amazing. Is there anything else like this unrelated to the rest of Merzbow's discography?
can you describe it? i'm a bit curious now, since i prefer early and mid 80s merzbow
>still listening edgy garbage like noise/power electronics
lmao i remember liking this shit when i was 16. thank god i grow up.
your grammar hasn't changed much though
It's a little bit like SPWWOOOOWWWSHH VOOSH VOOSH VOOOOSH VOOOOOOOOSHHHHH but also a little splash of SPSHAWWW SPSHAWWWWW SHHHPAAAAHHH
bump
where do i find a noise gf
at spencers
make a tulpa
noise is dead ._.
AAAAAAAAA
Kek poor girl looks so perturbed
rec me some non-edgy noise
go to local noise shows
not that user but, how do i find if my area has any noise artists at all?
zach hills extensive discography surely counts as noise?
Noise isn't exclusively power electronics
youtube.com
this album is truly transpatory. saw phil live a few weeks ago. pretty sure i lost all knowledge of time. i still can't figure out how long i was there. was a really incredible experience.
I know exactly what you mean, user. That guy's basically a magician. Possibly even a musician, if I might go so far as to say.
ugh i hate that site, but w/e. if it lets me find artists so be it.
i also wanna hear more noise / PE that uses guitars like irm, ramleh and SJ. anyone know of other groups that do this?
Might be a bit obvious but what about Wolf Eyes? Not to be mistaken for Wolf Parade nor Bright Eyes.
yeah ive listened to wolf eyes, just wondering if theres others out there. thanks for the recc though :)
Prurient. You gotta dig though, he changes his style around quite frequently.
If you can find it, Lovci Lebek is a noise band with strong but subtle (in the yes of mix) black metal influences. Done exclusively with guitar + effect rack + vocals. They released only one album limited to like 20 copies on cassette though so I have no idea if it exists anywhere.
I've been to noise shows, there are a girl or two there at most, most likely dragged there by their boyfriends.
When I saw Merzbow there were 3 qt Japanese schoolgirls there. Most likely tourists that saw a Japanese artist was playing and went, because they looked pretty confused once he started
I bet you listen to xxxtentacion now.
/noise/ needs a chart of essential albums. What is some /noise/core to put on a chart?
...

...
this
Keep the suggestions comming my dudes. So far I have
Deathpile - G.R.
Whitehouse - Birdseed
Whitehouse - Mummy and Daddy
Merzmeme - Pulse Memeon
Ramleh - Hole in the Heart
SPK - Leichenskrei
+ your suggestions
Also, please debate choices you disagree with.
I agree with all of these, should also add Symphony for a Genocide by M.B. that's an essential for sure.
Guys, would it be ok to add a Gnaw Their Tongues album, or is he to connected to the black metal scene?
There's no need for two Whitehouse records, especially from the same era.
And I still maintain that Atrax Morgue should be somewhere in essentials, but people here think he's a meme.
Also possibly Metal Machine Music?
>there's no need for two Whitehouse records
Fair enough. I should probably limit it to one record per artist. Which one is better though? I prefer MnD but Birdseed seems more "essential"
>Atrax Morgue should be somewhere in essentials
Actually never even heard of, but I'll check it out.
>Also possibly Metal Machine Music?
Good point. Added
I'd say Birdseed, Wriggle... is a pretty well known song that also showcases their style well, if nothing more
I removed MnD. Though I do still stand by that it is a better record.
Any thoughts on Pharmakon?
youtube.com
Really 'meh' from what I've heard of her.
she's cool
are there actually any modern industrial bands that sound like throbbing gristle and early cabaret voltaire?
...
idk, death grips
Fucking Sup Forums. Death Grips literally sounds nothing like early industrial.
>Death Grips
>Sounding like Throbbing Gristle
>Sounding like Cabaret Voltaire
lmao take a joke
I want to like death grips but it focuses too much on mcride and the drumming
kinda liking uniform after hearing them on twin peaks
youtube.com
Reminder to post your essential noise albums.
...
Cosey Fanni Tutti's Time To Tell (1983) is a masterpiece, really atmospheric
Agreed. Not really noise related though.
Ehh, I just went off industrial. Glad you agree though
Kazumoto Endo - While You Were Out
Iannis Xenakis - Persepolis
Gnaw Their Tongues shouldn't be added because it's just boring fucking industrial over generic black metal drumming
GTT isn't bad when you listen to his good stuff. Problem is he has no filter and releases like 12 records a year with lots of filler in them.
>Xenophobic Ejaculation
>Bizarre Uproar
>Snuff
>Brighter Death Now
>Brethren
What are some other power electronics groups like these ones?
you tell us you seem to know a thing or two. here's a live video i really like though:
damn, decent thread.
I've dropped off listening to music in any genre like I used to, but here's some industrial from this year that's solid. More drone and free form at points though.
Bloodyminded
don't forget to sample scanner sounds
by the way me and a friend gave out our first show at the city's digital art fest.
I've decided to devide the chart into subgenre's since "noise" is a little broad. The sub genre's I'll include are:
>Harsh noise
>OG industrial
>Power electronics/death industrial
>Dark Ambient/drone
>Black noise
This will obviously take time and I will needs lots more albums, but I'm bored and got time so continue posting albums my niggas.
Whats your project name and what city?
Hijokaidan made noise using instruments such as drums and guitars.
maluk-ruchei.tumblr.com
shit fucked up
Interesting, didnt realize you were that far away. Do you have any recordings?
got some nerve showing your name around here boy
...
this album is really something else. anything else like it?
what can I say, I was always a bold son of a gun
yeah i think this is a good distinction to have. i dont know a whole lot of OG industrial works so im excited to see what others share.
for black noise you should add Burning the Temple of God by Mz.412. idk if this has already been suggested yet.
you should add noisecore
My bands playing with legends Cock E.S.P. Any LA noise-bros should come through :^)
rip in peace mini-fridge
Added. Good album.
Not to familiar with the genre outside of Anal Cunt. Give me some albums.
Sissy Spacek, Combatwoundedveteran, Today is the Day, The Gerogerigegege, Sore Throat, Shitnoise Bastards
Thanks man.
Nice you got any recordings?
You have a split with misery ritual nice. I saw him live once and it was wild.
whomst is this......... mutracker user.
Misery Ritual is the homie! He is by far the best live performance I've ever seen. Total dedication.
So I want to get deeper into power electronics, I've listened to a decent bit of the PE that's on places like SVN-OKKLT, and my favorites of the genre are
Nicole 12
Whitehouse
Swallowing Bile
Sutcliffe Jügend
Prurient
Where should I go from here and where should I look if I want to fall down the rabbit hole?
fwiw, there are charts if you want to look around em for stuff people have suggested in the past
