Ask me anything. I'd love to hear your questions. (Pic related, it's ONT6

Yo. Which facility are you working at, and how was actually getting your start date and all of that? I was supposed to be working at the new one in Sacramento, but they tried to screw me over, pushing back my start date for months and eventually trying to make me go from a permanent full time position (the main reason I wanted to work there) to a seasonal position with full time hours, so I rescinded my application.

Oh shit haha, I work at Amazon, Im waiting in my car right now before I go in, Im a fulltime associate, I work the docks, but I've done stow, pick, trans shipping, and ICQA. Tell me user, do you get through pick by staring at all the fine ass walking around the mods?

DHL worker from Germany
i hate you fags for delivering so many packages
kys

I work at ONT6 in Moreno Valley. Getting to my start date was easy enough, but it took me a while between being hard and actually working day one.

Yeah, I've got work tonight at 6:30. Actually, I do the same, but by being a tote wrangler haha

Sorry, I think we're just better than you. I worked in packaging for a week before I was placed in an indirect position. Amazon is literally the most organized work center I've ever seen.

im literally throwing all packages through my van

The girls at my facility are far to easy, honestly its the only way to pass time by chatting them up. Every position is far to easy and repetitive and its hard to fuck up, at least for me, I do give out my cola cash shit though, I hate those things.

Why are you such a massive faggot?

There was this really hot girl who did rebinning for MultiSmalls but she looked like a dumb bitch whenever she'd come around and help with tote wrangling hahaha

That's neither here nor there, bud

Most of the girls who pick are pretty fucking stupid/ will probably fuck easily. I don't know why they are like that haha. Have you ever worked the docks? Its pretty chill, you kinda more or less play tetris all day, but during peak it can get kinda hectic, Im working 12 hour shifts right now.

12 hours? Damn, I work 10, but 6 day weeks.
Nah I haven't yet, today is my day 9 i think

Good job or nah

I'd say it's decent if you're looking for money, quick. My first paycheck was $422 after taxes, and I didn't even work the whole 60 hours that you normally would.

You're pretty much working non-stop, and some positions are more boring than others, but if you have someone to talk to, (it's really easy to befriend your coworkers) and you make sure not to keep track of time, you'll do fine. But you'll be extremely tired all the time. My sleep schedule is really fucked up because I work the nightshift, but I think my perception is a little skewed because I'm working the busiest time of the year.

Its just ok, I've worked a lot of jobs, its not the worst, but it sure isn't the best. Benefits are decent though.

I work full time freight at home depot. I was thinking to move to Amazon, but I make about 750 after taxes per check. But that's for 40 hours, not 30.

Im working 6 days as well, but Im using pto to go home 3 hours early today and Im off tomorrow. I hope you have a good night user, Im getting ready to head in. Time to go look at some ass...sadly Im in the docks so it will really just be the ass of boxes

Yeah you're definitely making more money than us. I'd say keep doing what you're doing, especially if you have the potential to move up

Over the past month, why is everything I order from you late and the wrong item?

who keeps the shit that doesnt get delivered?
I get incomplete orders all the time.
do people just dont care to make sure that the proper items are being shipped?

I'm not exactly sure how picking works so I can't necessarily pinpoint where it goes wrong. But what I CAN tell you is that in this Peak season, the most seasonal and new employees are hired, and picking is where the most mistakes are made. Where I work, we don't have many mistakes like that.

What item was it? I can tell you how the shipping process fucked it up and figure out why it was late maybe.

Nobody gets to keep anything, you can get fired if you walk out with something.
As I mentioned before with the picking process, it's easy for new people to make mistakes. With shipping, it's nearly impossible to send a package that has been incorrectly processed, so you might want to blame the inbound workers on that one. Picking is grueling, and probably the most difficult job onsite. I haven't worked there yet, but I know it sucks. You walk like 13 miles every shift.

whats it like to work there in general? I'm a dock service technician and i built the new one here in my city

Once something malfunctioned and when i went to fix it, i waited at the guard gate for about a half hour, then some guy said he was taking me to someone who would escort me to the dock, we walked a circle all the way around the facility and back and then i had to wait more for some guy to show up.

I found it extremely annoying and i hate rule sticklers like that. Its honestly easier to get into some military bases and power plants.

and according to the signs you cant have your phone or keys with you while in the work area and i would not put up with that shit. the idea of being in there all day with those idiots without having the ability to run the fuck outta there at anytime gives me the chills.

Everything is super organized, and it can actually be pretty laidback sometimes. As long as you do the job right and you're not an idiot, it's pretty easy.
And damn, that really fucking sucks, but yeah. You can't have your phone past this black and yellow striped line called the "point of no return", or else you get terminated. I saw this bitch during break with her phone out so I called her out but she said that "they knew" that she had it, so Idk what kinda free pass she got.

CVG2 checking in

>CVG2
I looked it up, return processing? How's that?

Thank you, picking sounds like it accounts for part of the problem. I'm sure being peak season affects shipments, but I'm a Prime customer and I want it now.

The most irritating item I've had problems with is a headboard from Amazon Warehouse. The first time I ordered I tracked the item through 4 different cities including two very close to where I live in Atlanta. The headboard was delivered late, despite being a few miles away for a couple days, and I got a desk instead.

The second time I ordered this as a correction, the item hung out in Savannah for several days before being shipped on the day it was supposed to be delivered in Atlanta. Now my delivery date has been extended between 2 and 5 days and I have no way to handcuff someone to my bed in the meantime.

Easy as fuck, into week 5. Rate is 12 boxes an hour I usually do about 19-22. Lot of idiots that work there though for the peak pay.

BOS5 here too

Yeah, so it's not anything that has to do with onsite problems then. That really sucks dude, I wish I knew more about delivery and all of that, but I think that's more of the postal service than Amazon themselves.

WTF that seems so easy, but it must be a pretty extensive process if the rate is so low?

Not really extensive at all, and some people still don't make rate lol. Check the item out, has it been opened ect. Scan the shipping label, make sure the item is on the list, and answer maybe 7 questions about the condition of the item. Then scan an LPN sticker and a Sticker that tells it where to go IE Sell-able, destroy, unsellable ect. Typically if it's sellable you rebox it, that's it.

What was the hiring process like? I went to the hiring appointment, went through some slideshow, did the drug test, and never heard back. Feels fucking bad man.

how thoroughly are returns checked?

I did the same thing you went through, took a while but I got it.
There's a way to check up on your application status on the workforce website I think

You'll have to ask BOS5 user in this thread

Sounds about right. When I went to the UPS store to return the first order, I saw a UPS driver just throwing boxes into the back of a Penske truck like it was trash.

Thanks for your help though!

Used to work at SAT2 in San Marcos. The job was alright kind of wish I was in picking but was placed in packing. Peak season was hectic as fuck

Really depends on who gets it, if it doesn't looked open I don't waste much time on it. Certain items such as medical equipment always gets destroyed if open, so if we see it's enough to pass it to destroy we don't check much. If it's an item that most likely will have a serial number It gets some attention, along with factory sealed items. We had someone try to return a textbook in a Razr laptop box last week, obviously didn't work though because the foil seals were broke.

see

That's the thing though. I went through all that shit and on the website it says i didn't attend the appointment. I even emailed the guy leading the appointment but didn't respond there either.

>Do you have a pulse?
>Can you pass a drug test?
>Congrats your employed

pretty much all the hiring process is

They are not checked by SC's we just get them from the post office and ferry them along. I'm a IT slave so my knowledge might not be the best

My FC is on the same road as about 5 other amazon buildings so they have a Hiring building in a strip mall about 3 mins down the road. Open classes roll every hour on the hour. You can even fill the application out on the spot. You watch a video on benefits, get a badge picture, they take a picture of your Birth certificate, and state ID. then you pick a building/schedule. After that you take a mouth swab drug test. Congrats if you pass the background and drug test your hired. lol
