I don't know how I feel about Star Wars anymore, the more I see it the more it looks like road kill, once something majestic and beautiful and now its a mangled up corpse.

I want to believe its good, maybe even decent, but this voice just keeps telling me its fucked and you know it. I loved Star Wars growing up because of the art and aliens and cool planets, didn't care much for the story, but I think the new trilogy is meant for kids to enjoy and grow up on.

Episode 4 was the only good one because it was based on therelatable fight of the underdog, and relied on good story telling, dialogue, soundtrack and sets as well as real special effects and movie magic that took great skill and passion to produce. Everything today is just fabrication embellished with CGI and nostalgia which all other aspects of the film use as a crutch. It's nothing more than fanfiction.

Everything after Return of the Jedi, the original release version, and even a substantial part of Return itself, is a cliched whore.
Passes for Knights of the Old Republic, the Xbox clone trooper game and actually Clone Wars series, only saw some later on Netflix, but for a kids show it wasnt half bad.
Oh and PS2 Battlefronts.
And a variety of books.

Its fucking run by Disney, the new SJW major Jewdo Disney.
What do you expect?
Also Empire is by far the best. Because its precisely not the same old "rising hero" story

Did Luke died and Leia lived?

Star wars is fucking everywhere now and I'm so tired of it. Whatever nerd cred it had is fucking gone.

Yeah it feels like a fan fiction, they are screeing TLJ tonight at my local theatre, Im debating on going or not, part me wants to see it because Kylo is kinda cool and I want too see his story play out, the other part of me is screaming its a waste of time and I could be chilling and getting stuff done

Irony

You could say the same about Marvel or really anything now, things are just being butchered left and right thanks to marketing, greed, and shitty fanbases.

Luke dies

I liked Rouge One, I thought it was the closest thing to Empire in terms a good story and generally a good story.

it had some good points, felt kind of close to star wars. i expected that TLJ would be in that spirit as I wanted to know more about the history of Jedi, how strong Luke is after all these years, a bit more into Jedi training (since all they ever do is mention academies etc) but w/e.

What I was given was mostly CGI shit, 3-4 cool scenes and that is it.
They didn't even let Leia or Ackbar fly that shit into the other shit. Cmon it would be a scene to be retold and remembered.

I watched star wars serially from episode 1 to episode 6. I hated the series.
At this point, I just think they are milking the dead cow

Post this in the movies board you uncouth faggot. Fucking ruining b.

It's like that Monty Python Dead Parrot sketch.

Audience: Star Wars is dead and recycled.
Massive marketing campaign: No it isn't, it's alive, see this cool trailer and the cool merch!!

!!SPOILER ALERT DO NOT READ!!!
I really fucking liked The Force Awakens so i had my hopes up for The Last Jedi.
After seeing it yesterday, it felt like a really expensive fan-made movie on a huge budget.
>Phasma is in it for about 10 seconds, then dies again, no further explaination on how she survived the trash compactor
> Knights of Ren don't get mentioned even once
> Snoke was killed off far too easy
> The force connection Rey and Kylo constantly shared felt off and way too lazy
> Rey's backstory about parents is extremely lazy and just utterly lame
> The whole casino scene felt un-star wars like and completely killed my focus on the main story
> No backstory on Finn, not even a little
> The humor was way overdone
> The only reason Porgs and Elite Praetorian Guards exist is because of merchandise sales
> The part where Yoda comes felt very pushed and uneasy for some reason
> Entire trailer focusses on a tree, Movie focusses on it for about 10 minutes and then it gets burned down
> Entire 'dark side place' beneath Luke's island literally had no influence on the story what so ever
> Luke dies for no reason
> Stampede casino scene felt like a clash between Narnia and Casino Royal, but with star wars characters, not much Star wars about it tho

I feel bad for Mark Hamill. After disappearing into mediocrity and being in terrible physical shape, he loses a ton of weight and reappears in the spot light to find out that they fucked up the Luke Skywalker character. Considering the ending of Return Of The Jedi specifically that last time we see Luke then to discover he comes some emo hermit brooding about his life. Then with Mark back to making big paychecks again they decide to kill of a character that still could've been used yet keep the character of a dead actress alive and turn her into supergirl. Now Mark has to once again re-experience what he did in the 80s, as the phone stops ringing and the offers end, and no one wants a type cast actor in their film Mark must once again go back to doing voice over work and hanging out with the old has beens of Star Trek at sci-fi conventions.

Since star wars threw former canon stories into the trash can the plot is strange and people liked it we can't do anything to complain about, only hope the SW saga finally rest in peace

Saw it yesterday and yes there is some bad parts in the movie but overall i felt it was pretty ok, unlike when i saw the 7 i didn't like after the first watch

but meh nerds will always be hating on new stuff

Fucking hell, FINALLY someone called out Return of the Jedi. I swear, the primary reason that movie gets a pass at all is because it's in the original trilogy and therefore *must* be good, it really wasn't. It was only okay, and probably was only okay because Lucas was still reigned in somewhat at that point.

>triLOGy

Mara jade never existed by now xd

>Be more powerful than Emperor and Vader combined
>Die by sitting next to a lightsaber

I dont hate on something because its newyou fucking idiot
It just felt very underwhelming in my opinion, it wasnt a shitty movie at all, but i feel like Rian Johnson tried too hard to ''surprise'' the audience and the fans rather than focus on some details that TFA set in motion but didnt get explained or executed in TLJ.
