My personal logic is : until the last couple thousand years, sexual activity would include at least two entities, instead of a person + media. Theoretically, sex was a "reward" for doing something correct, as in finding a large meal, killing an enemy, or raping someone. Sex was not instantaneous, and men in general did not ejaculate 3-4 times in one day, unless they had women/men they would just fuck all the time.
