Just saw Star Wars: The Last Jedi. AMA.

Remember when Leia flew through open space?

You mean when she went full Superman? Boy was that something.

Han Solo is dead = Harrison Ford alive

Princess Leia alive = Carrie Fisher dead

What is the point in all this?

It was the shittiest scene of the movie, she should have died in the space ship in hyperspace

It’s a conspiracy man

What happened to lukes green lightsaber?

Real opinion on the movie? 1-10?

7.5/10 maybe 8/10

I guess they had a storyline planned and put their faith in the wrong person to die lmao.

Good god is it gonna be weird seeing mostly CG Leia in the next one.

>hurr durr strong female woman with force powers

Pretty sure he either lost it or it broke when he fought Kylo as a teen.

From a movie stand point? Like a 6. From my personal love for everything Star Wars stand point? 4.

A solid 7, maybe 8

I was disappointed and thought it sucked for the first 1/3. It got better and was pretty good by the end. Carrie Fisher Mary Poppinsing herself through outer space with the force made me visibly cringe though.

I guess we'll never know who Snoke is.

Also, Rey's parents were just some drug addicts that sold her for money. Pretty lame, especially with the two years of theories.

The fuck was the point to snoke?

Let the male old character die instead of the female one, it'll bring more female values into their box office grossing, you know.

Fucking female audience attraction.

Seriously though. With all of the effort they have put into Leia floating, speeders racing on a salt planet etc. why wouldn’t we have ONE ACTUAL BAD ASS fight scene that was an ACTUAL fight like the prequels has plenty of.

Jeez dude! Did they not see how much people ate the fuck up Rogue One’s Vader scene?

It was a scene lifted from the expanded universe books that are now not cannon. Luke was in some tight situation and had to go from one ship to another. He basically did what Leia did.

I liked it because that means they are still looking at some of the books, which have significantly better content than episodes 1-3 to draw from.

Why do you feel as though you need to make one of these threads when there's literally been 3 open threads about it constantly for the past 3 days?

Know something they could actually learn from the prequels?

Designs. How to handle real villains and their fights. Even the music imo was better than this.

Because I’m pissed about this fucking movie and can’t sleep.

Don’t like it? You can go now to the tons of FCC Net Nuetrality horseshit that plagues Sup Forums.

Sucks to be wrong, huh? My theory was always that she was no one. Other people thought it too...

This movie was super predictable, had one good moment and left me genuinely rooting for Kylo. It was shit imo and offered nothing but a few deaths

I cringed with that and the toad of toad hall washerwomen bullshit characters, the casino bullshit, the waste of a character of phasma, and not seeing Luke’s xwing come out of ocean, but it’s Star Wars so I liked lots of other bits

He was important to the script that was written.

>ONE ACTUAL BAD ASS fight scene that was an ACTUAL fight like the prequels has plenty of
I'm so glad they didn't do that. Explosions and siexure inducing lightsaber battles with no point were one of the things that made 1-3 terrible. I kept waiting for the really retarded fight scene that the micael bay fans would love, but glad they didn't have it.

The music in episode one was pretty good.

Disagree on the villain desgin. Maul had almost no lines, no motivation, no explanation. The jedi had no reason to really even fight him and learned nothing from him. The fight scene was somewhat cool, but there was zero character development.

>the waste of a character of phasma
That appears to be a new star wars tradition. Cram Phasma in for no reason and then make her fuck up shit the bed until next time.

Eh, when Luke talked about how he almost murdered his kid nephew in his sleep I felt that destroyed a lot of what Luke's character was. That kinda shit is blatant dark side stuff, not just an accident.

I am glad he spent time ridiculing the jedi ways and how there should be a better setup for force users.

I have absolutely no emotional nap attachment to any of the characters with the exception of Chewy. When Finn was on his suicide speeder run I thought, if he dies, oh well.
It’s probably an unfair assessment since the original trilogy characters have evoked an attachment over the years....

Also, I get why Mark Hamill was upset about what they did with Luke. It didn’t feel like the Luke we all knew from the original trilogy. It was an interesting take but just didn’t feel like him.

i liked it but i hated the forced comedy

Agree with both of these anons.

If Rey would’ve joined Kylo the movie would’ve been A1. But no, predictably she didn’t and we’re riht back where we started except now there’s no snoke. Finn and roses side mission was pointless. Captain hodo or whatever was stupid(although her final act was bad ass). Phasma never offered anything. Rose is a shit character. Rey is also still a shit character. Only good characters to come out of the new movies thus far is Kylo, Po, Snoke, Finn and BB8 and one is dead and another is damn droid. There is no risks in this new trilogy. It’s all BS. And like I said, I’m rooting for kylo.

Luke feared Kylo's strength so he tried to kill him and Kylo escaped. Then Luke felt guilt and went into hiding. Then Rey turns out to be a nobody. Then a bunch of useless characters die. Then Luke does a force projection and trancends and ends up one with the force or whatever. Leia doesn't die even though Luke kinda did. Kylo and Rey want to fuck but can't because of politics.

Also porgs.

>Finn and roses side mission was pointless
This was my main problem. It accomplished nothing other than getting Benicio Del Toro a paycheck.

I think my favorite scene was when the rebel cruiser hyperspace-sliced snoke's cruiser in half.

Never thought of that, and the way it was filmed/cgied was really done nicely.

Rey and Kylo are brother and sister.

same here

was it shit ?

mmm holy fuck also this.

I like the part where Rey has a mini orgasm when she sees kylo shredded.

The books were stashed in the falcon.

nah 8/10

Exactly. It was an excuse to add him to the film and kill Phasma(who again didn’t do shit for 2 films). It offered nothing real to the plot. Disney along with Abrams is fucking retarded, these movies aren’t for adults anymore, unfortunately they’re for the kids.

Yes I agree these movies are for kids especially the part where the guy gets stabbed in the fuckn' skull and thrown into it a disintegrating pit of plasma

Don't forget in e3 when a 20 year old teacher murders the entire school of under 12 year old children. Nor forget an amputated guy that is on fire screaming at his best friend who cut him to pieces.

Definitely for children.

Abrams is a crazy kike, fuck him he screwed it all and made millions

And Yoda makes an appearance

lol you think anyone has a picture of it?

How gay was it on a scale of OP to overkill turbogay?

They’re definitely marketed towards a younger demographic now than ever before. If it wasn’t this movie would’ve been a lot more dark. That love shit with rose? The fact that Rey really didn’t develop at all and stayed good. All things that little ignorant kids enjoy. Not to mention Those bird things? They’re just trying to sell shit for kids.

dumb question, but does anyone think it can be watched on the internet today?

I never said anything about the prequels

about those birds i think that disney was trying imitate the minions or something

idk... maybe but in bad quality

tl;dr someone spoil the movie for me. What was the ending. Need to annoy idiots on Twitter

Rey turns to the darkside and joins Kylo. Kylo kills Leia. Snoke's origin is revealed, he's really Palpatine who has been holding himself together by the will of the force since the death star.

Terrible movie. Wtf was with all the random jokes. Snoke/Kylo/Rey/luke could have just been cut out all together.

Terrible bait, also kys

You mean a microgasm

Lol, exactly

>Those bird things? They’re just trying to sell shit for kids.
retarded kids behind me laughed and went on and on about them every single time they appeared. Nobody else seemed to care visibly.

At least its less stupid than JarJar and Anakin. Still too much forced comedy in the script that should have been cut. Star Wars isn't a comedy, its a space opera. People stepping in poop and midget furries aren't really needed.

Can confirm.

Kylo kills snoke, Leia lives, Luke dies at the hands of himself

First half of the movie was shit. Way too much forced humor, forced acting, nothing that anybody did made any sense. Leia flying through space was what I thought was going to be the nail in the coffin.

Second half got much better. Less forced and more natural humor, people started doing shit that actually made sense.

Luke's character went from pussy in episode 4/5 to solid dude in episode 6, and then it went straight back to pussy throughout 8. Kinda bullshit. Also, the way he died was retarded right on the level of floating Leia. Should have let kylo kill him like Obi wan let Vader instead of that Tupac hologram "I'm too exhausted to live but wait I lived and nope now I'm ded" sequence.

RIP purple haired temporary Leia replacement. Best character in the whole damn movie.

First half was 2/10 at best. Second half was good shit, I r8 8/10. Overall is 6-6.5/10

I hear what you're saying. It was a fucking bizarre turn of character for him to turn on Ben. But what I took away from that, as well as with his talk with Force Ghost Yoda, was that Luke never got the full training of a Jedi. Dude got like 8 minutes of training with Yoda, got lucky with Vader and Sidious, and suddenly feels qualified to teach a dozen or so students?

He was not prepared or qualified to teach, so I saw his brief lapse of judgment as part of that. He was afraid of the dark side and didn't know how else to avoid catastrophe, so for a split second he thought about killing Ben.

Sorry to "ackshually" on you, just sharing my opinion

As someone who has to work the premiere tomorrow in my theater, how hellish did it look for the employees?

At best a 6.

Really a 5.

The humor in the first 30 minutes was sophmoric at best.

Honestly the attempt at humor sucked.

Rey sue baby

>Also, the way he died was retarded right on the level of floating Leia. Should have let kylo kill him like Obi wan let Vader instead of that Tupac hologram "I'm too exhausted to live but wait I lived and nope now I'm ded" sequence.
I thought it wasn't a great move to have Luke die, but the force-hologram is a brilliant move. Ben Solo clearly hates Luke more than anything in the galaxy so he will spend vast resources trying to hunt him down instead of focusing on the burgeoning new rebels. The idea of dying from force overexertion is fine with me. I just didnt want him to die because he is Luke fucking Skywalker.

>RIP purple haired temporary Leia replacement. Best character in the whole damn movie.
Not bad, but I liked Benicio Del Toro. His character ultimitely had no purpose, but it was very well done.

How many theatres does yours have? Are there many others in your area and how big is your town?

Hell yeah. The decision to make those moments of impact silent really made those visuals pop. Incredibly well crafted scene.

Oh c'mmon. Like Kylo Ren cant lie?

Yeah, the first 1/3 was crap.

It didn't grab me and make we want to watch.

Basically Rian turned this into a manga version of Star Wars. With stupid humor and Luke as master Roshi from dragon Ball z.

I'm absolutely serious about that last part.

16, roughly 10000ish, (surrounding area's ab 30,000 tho) and another mainstream theater.

I've been talking to my mates that worked the 7:00 tonight and apparently it wasn't as terrible as TFA in terms of mayhem. We didn't get out until 2:30 that opening night.

Actually even the last lightsaber fight had only few strikes it was the best fight I've seen in Star Wars.

I really like this realistic way of fighting.

Totally. Like snoke was supposed to be this super baddie and then, poof, he gets sliced in half like Darth maul.

I could have used more lightsaber action.

Although the scene with rey and kylo battling the red guard was dope

Yea it shouldn't be too too bad, but you never know because the theatre here was sold out and after the first showings there should be a lot of kids which will make it worse.

Bullshit. Whatever.

How did it feel to sit for three hours just to watch a remix of empire and jedi with sprinkles of new hope?

No, I think you make many good points.

Luke did get more training than what we saw in 5/6, they just couldn't fit it all in or it would be another trilogy just to cover it all. Having said that, the training is still laughably short compared with how jedi were supposed to be trained. Ignoring the prequels other than Rogue One, yoda talks about how luke is too old and that the aprenticeship should start as a child. Even if the dogma isn't crammed into his head, he misses out on constant day in day out training that anyone in any type of profession needs to be the best.

Another thing I liked from the books is that Luke started a young academy and ran into lots of these problems because he had never been taught that way himself. The Ben Solo plot is pretty similar, to a point, as that of his academy on Yavin 4 in the books. He doesn't know exactly what he is doing and it becomes very dangerous, but what else is he to do?

What annoyes me is that if you have the possibility to hack a lightspeed hit to the vessels why don't the small ones do it all the time to win the large ones?

I agree that for the most part, Rey didn't really develop as a character. There was a while there where I was honestly interested in her conflict between dark and light side, but the second she started blabbing to Kylo Ren about "I'll help you turn to the light side", I knew that she wasn't going to do shit. I really wish she was given a more interesting conflict this film.

Saw one normal looking person with a lightsaber. Nothing else other than kids and nerds. Didn't smell bad and no 400 lb people everywhere.

Oddly enough, this movie did make me ponder the prequels again

5/10. Star Wars fan, had no issue with force awakens, yeah it was dangerously similar to new hope. It still was exciting at least. That leia super man scene was ridiculous, the yoda scene, today was more Kermit the frog than yoda. Honestly, the best scenes are the light saber battles. The kylo, Rey, Snoke scene is sick. But after all the speculation and build up for snoke, he's killed off the bat. Captain phasma had just as much screen time as on force awakens till she is killed. I had high hopes for it, but opening scene alone had me having doubts. I wanna say I liked it cause I like Star Wars, but this was the first time during a Star Wars I found myself thinking when is this ending

I think that shit about her parents is misleading.

She still could have "famous" parents.

Phasma was totally underdeveloped.

Total waste of a character.

This is true

There won't be a next time. She's dead.

>I really like this realistic way of fighting.
Same here!

I loved the original trilogy fights because it was regular skills with all sorts of important dialouge, character development, and setup. The clinical choreography in 1-3, while pretty to watch, had little investment from the viewers other than 'shiny'.

I still like the darth Maul fight in 1, but it didn't really have much meaning when it started. Obi-wan dying to Vader in 4, while slow and not as exciting visually, was the catalyst point that made Luke devote himself. We also here some backstory between them.

Wish they'd make a well choreagraphed scene that the viewer also cares heavily about.

Yeah. This did upset me.

But i guess the idea is that the Jedi create their own nemesis no matter what they do.

Also done forget Anakin saw Padme's death and did everything the stop it, only to cause it. Just like Luke created Kylo.

>It was an interesting take but just didn’t feel like him.

So true. Luke would never throw obi won's light saber over a cliff.

They're already all sold out, we're expecting give or take 6-7000 people in and out. Our last show's 11:30 so we'll lock by midnight and be out by 2:00.
People don't realize that it's a fucking madhouse. And the kids are a problem but usually they're not an issue for shows like this because there will be 5-6 ushers on the floor at a given time and 3-4 cleaning. Last time before TFA management decided to cut 10 people the week before and we were understaffed/fucked.
Not many cosplayers? I'm surprised.

How long until the rule 34 of Luke motorboating one of those blue milk space tit aliens?

can someone give me a brief list of spoilers? i'm trying to ruin the movie for everyone i know.

The comedy was horrible.

I see no problem with the fact that there was a time of second when Luke felt the dark power while looking inside Ken.

He felt it, it was only a second and passed.

maybe the shileds can stop the smaller ships like x-wings from doing much damage. Both sides would be reluctant to waste a large cruiser to kill the other large cruiser unless in a desperate situation.

Or who knows cause they obviously have different physics they use.

Yeah, maybe you need a large vessel to fucking lightspeed-crash another large vessel and it's shield.

True dat scene was cgi-porn
