I am translating stuff from Japanese to English (badly)...

I am translating stuff from Japanese to English (badly), and I suddenly realize something: There is no word in English for the sensation where one feels the need to urinate or defecate. Or is there?

Is it possible to put "the feeling in which one need to take a dump or piss" into a single word in English?

nope, no such word
usually we will say we need to go to the bathroom, use the restroom, or something similar.

Phrase would be: i got to unload.

Well, fuck. I dug through the root word in Greek, and the closest is Copropraxia, but that only works for people spewing shit from their mouth uncontrollably - usually from tourette and the like.

Thanks anyways, though. I wish English has a broader selection of words to choose from, sometimes.

Well, what about "to shit"?
Couldn't it be used in american English?
"I need to shit" "I'm shitting myself"
I'm not completely sure I'm B2 Aspirant

Yeah. This picture included is a very /d/-oriented tabletop RPG from like 10 years ago that I am translating since nobody else is doing it (There have been many attempts, and a wiki page dedicated to it). It's one of the optional status effect. I am just using "Defecation" for it, for now, but I guess if anyone has anything better...

And I am like god damn ESL anyways. how do i engrish, dammit.

yes there is a word "shithurry" from the latin "chitaurii" like this :this Avengers movie is so bad it make me "chitaurii" right now!!!

this is bulshit

Hey OP what the title of your picture attachted?

very interested in this pic

This is the cover for a tabletop roleplaying book called "Zettai Reido", a TRPG game from Japan a few years ago. By the same dude that made Maid TRPG. Ask /tg/ if you want to know more I guess (Or /d/?)

And what would the Japanese words for those be?

may be bullshit
but would still be funny

To micturate is to urinate; dictionaries say micturate derives from the Latin micturīre, "to want to urinate."

So you can combine the old Latin root, and the -y noun suffix (which means "full of," e.g. dirty means "full of dirt"), which gives you mictury. ("Dude, I am seriously mictury...")

or could use the aus or brit slang or bursting/busting to go

urinurgency

will keep dumping random words as i find some

Zettai Reido

... Well, the cover artist, which I guess people are gonna be more interested in, goes by Radiohead, pixiv member id=4122

Please give short summary of
>nhentai.net/g/216078/

>Zettai Reido
This means absolute zero. I'm talking about the words for needing to take a shit/pee.

tl;dr a runaway girl who ended up living with a dude, standard doujin stuff (literally just looked at title)

Ah, sorry. (Also it uses different kanji, so actually it's closer to Absolute Slavery for the title...)

The word I was looking up is 便意, which would extend to 尿意 as well I guess. Former is the sensation in which one feels the need to excrete, latter is the sensation in which one feels the need to pee.

...OP, are you translating shit made by Radiohead?
You're one patrician son of a bitch if that's the case, you know that?
But now that i look at it, it might not be radio but one of those other artists he usually collabs with.

would the translations look/sound awkward if you just left them translated as
the need to ______ ?

Zettai Reido is mentioned more than once on /tg/, and as a fa/tg/uy I feel very indebted to all other elegan/tg/entlemen over the years, and feel the need to do this.

There's been several attempts that I know of to translate this over the years, but nobody actually did anything, and I figure if I just spend a few days... Well, weeks, I can do this to a functional and playable degree. This is a tabletop game, like those nerdy Dungeons and Dragons stuff that people play, but with sex rules.

And yeah - might be - I had to grab the name from guessing between the artists.

Yeah, kinda - it's a status effect in RPG functionally like "Poisoned" or "Petrified" or "Stunned". For "In Heat" condition I am tempted to use Estrus already, even if that is very awkward in writing and RP.

Why is the acronym PPE funny to Japanese people

i know when i am reading translated doujin i tend to give the translator some benefit of the doubt when it comes to overlooking not so smooth translations
i just appreciate the effort and being able to at the very least get an idea for what is being said/thought/etc in most cases.

Here's a sample of what I am doing.

status effect
okay this helps
will keep looking around for words or suggestions or at least keep the thread bumped for you

And yeah, I realize I probably should really have a /tg/ discussion on /tg/, but /tg/ is a blue board and we not longer talk about giantess porns or charop gods.

Context?
Full sentence?

>tfw you will never get to play fetish tabletop with other enthusiasts

Yeah, the problem is exactly the context - it should ideally be a single word, used for status effects like you would find in RPG games - like Poisoned or Stunned.

Pen pineapple apple pen?

"To be taken short" - To suddenly and unexpectedly need to go to the toilet, especially when it is not convenient for you to do so

(This is UK English)

I am sure you can find people to play with - roll20's pathfinder games are mostly filled with degeneracy, and if you lurk around /tg/ some you can probably find others of similar mind. Might take some looking and you might sink right into 24/7 of rolling dice and roleplaying a thicc dorf instead, but that's the risks.

Kek. I'm in a safety orientation and the instructor said that when he said the short form of personal protective equipment that Japanese people would laugh

OP is more in need of a single word synonym as you would see in most status effects
to be taken short is basically the same as saying
i have to use the bathroom
its a phrase not a word

Could you help me with this page ?
Ive look for a traslation but haven’t been able to find one

"taken short" is not significantly longer than "poisoned"

Yeah, it's a very shitty situation that I got myself in, eh? ... I am sorry.

Nothing changed at all
Even though it's from 20 years ago...

Mom's graduation album from high school ->

''Gotta Dunny''

She hasn't changed at all
Even though it's more than 20 years ago

(His mother's middle school graduation album)

She hasn't changed bit
Even though has more than 20 years tho
Mommas middle school graduation photo album
Omae wa shindaeiru

OP so far thinking what said
>mictury / Micturire
>1835-45; < Latin mictur(īre) to desire to urinate
might be a bit close to what you are looking for although micturire is kind of a dead word
and mictury is not a recognized word as far as i know

true and taken short doesn't sound horrible as a status effect either
good point user

Well... since they use two kanji for it, can't english use two words? Gotta shit.

Thanks a lot
Nani ???

fuck me my sides

Yeah, it's such an obscure word that I am not sure if it'll be usable during play. I have to admit, I am not into scat at all, and those who are into it may have more insight into this matter.

I don't even know how to pronounce it, since I've never seen the word, kek.

Yeah, I ended up using the simple "Defecation" for the time being, which is missing a bit of the spirit of the word, but whatever.

Also kyonyu (巨乳) means big tits

yeah i know
and that may be a good idea, they tend to have a knowledge of weird shit like that
but i feel like this is a topic that the common man can get behind, we have all thought about this at some point or another tried to find a single word to describe something a bit more complex ye know

think its kind of pronounced similar to mixture
also had suggested
bursting/busting
either of those work for you? know they kind of eh
but still could be used to give the idea a label

Bazinga!

While there is no single English word that denotes the need to urinate or defecate, there is a word that denotes a lack of voluntary control over urination and defecation. Going by your definition of the status effect this word might work for you: Incontinence.

... That... Might just fit perfectly. Huh.

Yeah, I think I'll go with that. Thanks, user.

That's a bit stronger than "big". More like "huge" or "giant"
