Is Liquid Sword the only smart Hip Hop album?

>Inb4 TPAB
Lmao no

...

>smart
what does that even mean

and OB4CL is the best Wu album

What is cLOUDDEAD??

'Smart' hip-hop albums usually suck. LS isn't trying to be smart thankfully, it's street smart.

correct opinion

this desu rap that tries to be smart often ends up being cringy as fuck

Charles Hamilton's The Pink Lavalamp is the only smart album ever made.

>living in my prison, you can't see my sentence

find me a smarter line, I dare you

>I bomb atomically, Socrates' philosophies and hypotheses
Can't define how I be dropping these mockeries

there's a different between smart and pseudo-intellectual you fucking dunce

exactly, I think what makes LS so good and smart is that it seems natural or effortless.

>maybe if I use big words I'll sound smart
the cancer killing rap right now

lines like that will never hold a candle to shit like

"competition is none, I remain at the top like the sun"

>>living in my prison, you can't see my sentence
>Implying this is smart or clever
You're a moron. Never listen to Hip Hop ever again.

...

not even that guy but it seems like he isn't interested in hiphop you utter buffoon

the new open mike eagle is hella smart

You couldn't even handle the dare so your opinion is invalid, please try again.

I swear to god if this album didn't get a 10 from Pitchfork we would never see it posted

this I'd rather hear some clever lines than philosophers being name dropped. For example, El P's verse on The Last Huzzah Remix (a pretty meh track but whatever) where's he's counting to sixteen, amazing.

GZA sounds like he's using a thesaurus to write his rhymes. I like it but it's not genuinely "smart" like milo or woods or elucid or busdriver etc etc etc

I'm sorry but Childless Gambeaner's got Charlie Bamilton beat.

>got no patience, cause I'm not a doctor
>Girl why is you lying, girl why you Mufasa
>Yeah, mi casa su casa, got it stripping like Gaza
>Got so high off volcanoes, now the flow is so lava

>he thinks Pitchfork are the only reason Wu-Tang are popular

>boop boop beep boop look at me i'm a rapping robot from the future
no

agreed, the best GZA verses are all on 36 chambers because he doesn't have to try as hard to stand out.

>My Wu-Tang slang is mad fuckin dangerous

He would apparently edit and correct other Wu Tang member's verses for them, so who knows, maybe he just has a large vocabulary.

yep, that's exactly what I said in my post, nice reading comprehension!

no really, so many people on this board post this fucking album when it's just not that good. it's not as good as supreme clientele, it's not as good as OB4CL, it's not as good as 36 chambers, and it's only marginally better than fishscale or wu-tang forever.

considering that 80% of this board's rap fans are p4k drones, I don't think I'm too far from the mark

Wrong

Liquid Swords has been considered a classic hip-hop album for years you dense fuck. just because you only read Pitchfork, doesn't mean it's the only music source out there

>confusing your arbitrary preferences for some sort of objective reality
Most people consider this album top tier Wu.

what song does he say that in?

gkmc

>These are suppose to be smart

*beath e i n

Pitchfork shills all those albums too. Supreme Clientele got a 10/10, so you're a pitchfork drone poser for liking that over GZA.

>the only smart Hip Hop album
supreme clintele
illmatic
jay z 444, the black album, reasonable doubt
capital steez's AmeriKKKan Kurroption
tupac 7 day theory
canibus 2000 bc

there's tons of smart rap albums

>Niggers
>Smart

>beyond the walls of intelligence life is defined

>sick sick dreams of picnic scenes two kids sixteen with M16s with 10 clips each and them shits reach through 6 kids each and slim gets blamed in bill clints speech to fix these streets

>Real G's move in silence like my designer
>Intertwined with the timeless, divine higher power

these are all capital steez lines
>King Arthur when he swung his sword
>A king author I ain't even use a pen in like a month or four

>I looked up what the meaning of life was
>And ended up with a fake smile and a light buzz, Right cuhz ?

>I doubted I could change this planet
>But we all gotta take the advantage
>I started growing it made me start embracing the damage
>That was dealt cause I thought it was the way that we planned it
>It made me more philosophical we living in madness
>But they only see the world through surveillance cameras

...

...

This is one of those albums I will never understand the love for.
