Recommend me what you consider to be the most forward-thinking electronic albums of the past decade or so. Genre doesn't matter, just anything you think is really unique or boundary-pushing

I was really into pic related and all of Autechre for a while but lately I've been super burnt out on all the electronic/IDM stuff I used to love and I need something new to get into

Xenakis - La legende d'Eer
Xanopticon - Liminal Space

>xenakis
whoa

That does sound super interesting, I'll be sure to listen.

I think I burnt myself out on this a little while ago but I'll definitely check it out again

Appreciate the recc
By The Throat in particular has been on my list to check out for a long time

Are any of Arca's proper albums listening to? I've heard his first couple EPs and his self-titled and they were interesting enough I guess

Dataplex.
Oval's 94 Diskont is also pretty cool

I had a hard time getting into Dataplex, I felt like it was kinda repetitive. But I'll give it another shot
94diskont is a great fucking album though, I'll play it again. Are his others worth listening to?

op pic are really the pinnacle for me. you should try alva noto and ryuichi sakamoto, i think you'd enjoy them

You need Scope by Nobukazu Takemura too

what is pic-related

Actually I should definitely listen to this again, it's been a while
I never enjoyed SILY that much but the more time has passed the more I come back to certain songs so I definitely need to give it another full listen

id be amazed if you didnt like his proper albums

Listen to Ovals latest release, it's damn pretty good

Currently one song into Insen and I love it already, thanks user

If you want something nice and dancey I can recommend youtube.com/watch?v=w-Q4qzeuV-8

I doubt many of you will agree but for me the most forward thinking stuff has to be some of the better dance music released, check out Timedance Records and more recent Hessle Audio.

The new Ben Frost LP "The Centre Cannot Hold" is pretty forward-thinking. Produced by Albini, who is known for his cutting edge style of production. The album came out today so this is the freshest shit you can get in electronic music.

Also, I suggest that Opal rec, that one is very good.

Ryuichi Sakamoto's new album "async" is also worth checking out.

*Oval, not Opal lol

all this shit posted here is just ripping off the past like always
jfc this board is always behind.
anyway met this guy recently at my uni
this is probably the most forward thinking music i've heard in awhile
