What will become of the millions of jobs people around the world depend on to buy the food, clothes, accessories they need to survive when robots start taking over doing everything for us?

The Solution? Have a living wage salary made for everyone, $20,000 to $30,000 for each person so they can continue to live while keeping the economy in check

Thats hypothetically how I see the world going but what do you guys think? Are we doomed and will live where robots will take over or can we thrive and be able to live in a dystopian world where robots do everything for us?

jeez i dunno dude as long as i can watch porn for free im a happy chappy

employment is going to be a thing that doesn't really happen any more
except for certain exceptions
there will be wars over it at first
because those are the two main ways to keep a population occupied
but when the dust settles
there will be more time for people to pursue study, the arts, hobbies and so on
and the vast majority will turn to gaming
a new world is coming, user

Companies that rely on selling their products can no longer sell their products because no one has a job anymore.

The whole point of jobs and currency is that it creates a society where everyone offers each other services so that it isn't just everyone for themselves. If we ever get to a point where robots provide all our services then there would be no purpose for currency anyway.

this

No. Eventually the strong will rise above the weak. Those who have something to offer will segregate and rise above those who have nothing to offer.

Once there's a government issued minimum wage you can say goodbye to freedom, once the government is your sole source of income how can you vote against it?

Having things that you want. Not just need. I’m not ok with being average, that’s why I choose to excel

Those of us who can adapt to a changing economy will be ok and the rest of you will live in abject poverty.

No society can keep paying people for not working... The factories with robots wont pay the governments money to pay the people they replaced by robots... no money to give, means no money to receive. Universal income will just put a more heavy burden on those that do actually still need to work.

Its going to be shit, but paying people to not work without having he money is a stupid idea...

This is basically already happening with those on social welfare always voting for the leftish parties that promise to uphold or increase the free money flow.

EMP BOMB, problem solved

Robots will never be a thing.

We've had all the necessary technologies for a couple decades and they are still bumbling retards that cost a fortune and can't do shit.

>employment is going to be a thing that doesn't really happen any more
>except for certain exceptions

You mean like in those instances where you need an actual brain to do your job?

If a robot can do your job you're already a useless sack. Get an education and do something a robot can't do.

Hey bud, I've figured this is the route it'll go if capitalism wants to survive in some form.

>Get an education and do something a robot can't do.

This is only ever a temporary state, and also as more and more people are required to have degrees for entry-level positions, the degrees themselves become both harder to get and less valuable.

The reality of our society is that as it becomes more efficient, fewer and fewer people actually need to work. You can't keep magically created skilled labor for people to do.

A UBI is inevitable, unless you're fine with genocide.

...

Several million or more to develop and that's all it can do. That's probably the hundredth try to get that shot too.

Useless.

Genocide>homocide>suicide

Robots like in OPs picture will likely never be a thing.

Robots that automate production processes have been in use for decades. Most automobile factories are extensively automated for example. Even critical welding is done by robots "trained" by craftsmen to do the same thing over and over very reliably.

Any industrial process in even developing countries find the cost / benefit of robotic automation to be highly desirable.

As for having the technology for decades to make robots like those pictured: I got my masters degree in AI about 12 years ago and I can tell you that you're simply incorrect. It's only relatively recently that pattern recognition hardware and software has gotten to the point where it's starting to look viable.

AI I believe can happen, but I don't think it's a good idea.

Rogue AIs are my favorite subject in science fiction and SciFi likes to come true. Joshua fascinated and scared the shit out of me as a child.
