Get in loser we're having an aoty thread
Are we doing categories this year for anything? Even EPs?
...
anything of the year
This or Brutalism by Idles
...
Didn't see this get posted a lot
why does no one talk about this album? It's a fucking masterpiece.
Hell no you didn't.
2/5 and I can prove it.
Reissues count
Well that is a valid category. What's it up against, Sgt Peppers?
do it
Do you have a link?
...
and OKNOTOK
didn't mean to reply there
Don't forget all those NIN albums
...
It's like three steps short of a masterpiece. IMO it's inferior to Mean Everything to Nothing. Definitely a good album, but definitely not AOTY.
...
>boohoo my wife died guys now buy my album pls
Boring as fuck.
It’s in my top 5. It’s fantastic. That band is ridiculously underappreciated

I put this on last night while laying in bed and ended up falling asleep to it
No joke my dreams were fucking wild. This album is like Adventure Time if it were just music.
Heart of the Congo got the 40th Anniversary Reissue treatment
>re-mastered by Kevin Metcalfe at the Soundmasters, UK and features the original mix with dubs, disco mixes and ‘Don’t Blame It On I’- a “missing track” discovered by Steve Barrow and David Katz in 1997.
>This album is like Adventure Time if it were just music.
The last song gets me fucking hard.
are you joking kek, the album's like the sun
i haven't watch this
should i
It is only 10 minutes with each episode (10 total) and the music adds to the appeal.
My AOTY
>mega.nz
missing some tracks asshole
the score is just beautiful and cute. the show is really nice as well with some great themes
...
...
this was a great album
>tfw your expected AOTY was only a 7/10
dunno what to do with my self lads, I'm never gonna have an AOTY at this rate
listen to the new slowdive = 3
...
Is the Good Time soundtrack worth listening to on its own?
Loved the movie and thought the music was perfect for it but I dunno if it would hold up without context
mmm, probably not. but i enjoyed the movie so much i wanted to give it a shout out.
would strongly recommend the jun konagaya though.
I can immediately tell from the cover that this is irredeemable garbage
What should I hear next? I haven't heard:
- Brand New
- LCD Soundsystem
- Protomartyr
- Chelsea Wolfe
- Gas
- Milo
- Elder
- War on Drugs
- Susanne Sundfor
- GY!BE
- Rapsody
- Murder of the Universe
- Machine Girl
I just heard Rocket yesterday and it was really good. Could possibly slide in as a lower honorable mention.
tfw this is still the best
this vaporwave garbage is actually pretty cool
if you like brand new, lil peep released the best brand new project this year.
Been at the top of the list ever since the beginning of the year desu
lmfao, I'll listen to both then. thanks.
...
>stealing akira artwork
just pay someone to draw manga wtf
more of a glib observation than a rec, but at worst its a short listen.

These are the ones I liked a lot.

Fucking this mane. Tera melos and yowie were good contenders though, plus i havent heard iglooghost yet
Link?
I want conde nast shills to leave. We collectively hated this piece of shit snoozefest of an album
Actually a great album, my third favourite this year
i disagree although there is a gray area. i would definitely consider issues of previously unreleased material or archival stuff with very limited distribution and no availability online beforehand or something. but just some random well known album everyones heard before that got reissued the exact same? no
Mean girls was a bad movie
its pretty normal actually. sounds like a white kid making beats on ableton who likes pc music, 2008 brainfeeder, and vaporwave and current era orange milk shit
>all this weird frontier music is normal
k
am i the only one who fucks with mutemath

This
RATTLE, RATTLE, RATTLE
the current trendy music is weird... sorry its what every hip person aged 15-30 living in an urban area fucking listens to
...
Are you the same guy from that one thread who said that he's friends with a brother of a bandmate?
Always too late to these threads, but here's mine. Fuckin badass.
Also ++Iglooghost
Too mainstream. Find something better and underappreciated to enjoy.
I've heard 89 albums from this year. Not my fault the underground has disappointed so thoroughly this year. I don't give bonus points for it being obscure like you morons.
...
if somebody posts brockhampton I'm beating them up
not included: King Krule - The Ooz
Not him, but don't you think that maybe because you're listening to so many albums so fast that you're not taking the time to appreciate the more intricate of those albums, and tend to prefer the ones that are easy to digest at first (usually the more mainstream albums)?
Out of the 89, which ones have you actually played again?
The full of hell and the body collaboration will almost definitely be one of my favorites from this year
...
why does no one mention this is any aoty thread?
