Near aa I can figure, Country listeners aew mostly heterosexual white men and heterosexual white men prefer to listen to other heterosexual white men. Also this decade has been especially anti-women. Great country music is still being made by women but it's tough to cut through the sausage fest that is Country music.

it's partly because it's a bit harder to find good modern female country than it is to find good modern male country. it seem slike any alt country/red dirt country search shows only dudes and anything by a female is labeled americana instead
