I like that you keep common rhythmic themes between the first and second verses and do a dotted eighth into triplet thing for one of the verses.
Other things for you to try:
over the bar repeated odd groupings of 3,5,7 on binary divisions of the beat
uneven divisions of the beat in 3, 5, 7
accelerando ritardando effects in phrasing: adding / removing syllables in the same time as the last phrase
