was this in pitch fork or something

why is it suddenly being spammed on Sup Forums

I like exotica/lounge/spaceagepop sounding stuff but never really dug this

what other exotica albums would you recommend

city pop album recs are also appreciated

damn I forgot about Martin Denny and Les Baxter

walter wanderley get reccomended on youtube to anyone who listens to like Sup Forums-style music i think this ones just an extension of people being interested in that album

interesting

I found this shit because I play guitar and was interested in a specific guitar player that played on shit like this cuz I like weird esoteric guitar playing from the 50s (Vinnie Bell) and thought this stuff was coming up on my feed because of that

I don't think anyone on Sup Forums has ever searched for vinnie bell

we live in the matrix

I've never seen Wanderley come up, even after listening to some exotica and city pop

isn't Vinnie Bell the creator of the electric sitar

it was on /t/ a few months ago under "rare albums"

every song on here is a fuckin bop

hosono's best album is either hosono house or philharmony though

Philharmony would be a hell of a lot better if it had better song sequencing, the worst offender being a quirky synthpop song with Sports Men followed by dark ambient sound collage with Birthday Party, but even as it stands it's still great

oh cool might have to check him out
ive been looking into more music from this period like calypso and such so its possible im a little biased in my assertion about youtube recs

he's a guy I've been intending to check out but never had the time

patrician

I have this on a 2-pack release that also includes The Aegean Sea. It's okay but I like Pacific better.

Neither one rips correctly in EAC and I don't know why.

can anyone share an album that's a lot like Pacific, namely that it's instrumental

if somebody's into Japanese music they'd have to run into this at some point, but I can see why it was there

it's because marcy demarcy said it was one of his favorite and influenced albums. Hosono had a small cult following before but now it's getting traction

Welcome to paradise by monster rally

yeah

he played on lots of studio stuff in the 50s and 60s and 70s and shit

he was the guitar player on Julee Cruise Floating Into The Night (Twin Peaks)

no Moon Gas?

man we gotta set up a Sup Forums recommended exotica chart with all these

sounds like a good idea

Set it up, my man.

Don't bother.

Posted before I copied the link, apologies.

This is not in convenient chart-form.

There's no need whatsoever for another chart of music I like being spammed and memed upon.

I can't tell if I should be ashamed for liking an album that sounds like elevator music or this is just fucking good elevator music

>Proto-vaporwave

Pretty much all the members of YMO pioneered this sound, along with Vangelis and Tangerine Dream

my god this rainforest album is amazing

check out flashstrap.blogspot.com.au as well.
It's pretty much a blog loaded with Exotica and Space-Age Pop download links.

that album is amazing, I managed to see an amazing import price for it so I bought it on the spot

I listened to this album like 5 years ago.

I just wanted to let you all know that I exceed your calibre.

Holy I didn’t think people who typed like such edgelords really existed outside the YouTube comments section for songs made before the 90s
