Is your sect like your sports team in that you should go for who your family is with? I have strong Irish Catholic roots but then I'm something of a Hellenophile so I'm tempted by the Orthodox church.

Christianity is a faith which is based on the Church and the teachings from it. Orthodoxy is the true faith because every Priest has been taught by one before him in direct lineage of the original disciples.
Go to an Orthodox service, just see what it's like. Talk to the Priest, talk to the people. See if it's what you are looking for.
