Ask a cell phone repair technician anything

Ask a cell phone repair technician anything.

have you ever noticed cum stains on phones

Do you cum on the phones

How much heat to remove touch/screen? Would a hair dryer cut it?

Samsung tab is working, sound working, it's charging and everything but the screen is black as Obama
And I tried to disconnect the wires inside and reconnect them

Still black

What do?

Let's talk nudes. How much are we talking about ?

will i ever be happy?

Ever had to fix one of these I'm guessing not as mine has been through a cycle in the washing machine twice, kicked, thrown and dropped multiple times and still works perfectly.
Anyone that owns a smartphone is a moron.

why are iphones so gay?

No. I've gotten some nasty phones though, some with old food inside the ports and screens so greasy you could fry eggs on them.
Computers are generally in worse condition. I had to open one for a hard drive swap and dead cockroaches poured out.

Depends on the adhesive. It would be tough to remove with a hair dryer, but you could probably manage as long as you're delicate. Don't do tablets unless you have good heating equipment.
I use a food dehydrator.

How often do you get people come to you with fake phones they bought on craigslist/ebay?

So, I'm one of those lucky SOBs who owns a Galaxy S8 and the glass screen cracked by itself. I've never cracked a screen in my life, I never dropped this phone and Samsung refuses to acknowledge it's an issue because it's just "Fragile." Many others on the internet have experienced the same problem. I got it last Feb. so I'm basically fucked, aren't I?

Do you poo in loo?

czech'd

Ever find nudes on phones?

Unless you're trying to do anything other than make a phone call, sure.

Ho did you get trips?

it also sends text messages cunt.

Dead backlight probably. That needs microsoldering work to fix, take it into a shop. It's not a problem with the screen.

Don't go through personal data, sorry.

Are you sleeping well? How is your financial and social situation?

Nope. There are good smartphones out there though. I currently own an S7.

Iphones are easy to fix. iOS is garbage though.

Not once, actually. Lots of iCloud locked iPhones though.

Pretty much yeah. The S8 and Note 8 are overpriced and shitty especially for how easily they break and how difficult they are to fix. S7 is a solid phone, one in good condition runs about $200. I suggest one of those. If you're a fan of other brands, check out the Redmi 2, the Pixel, and anything by oneplus.

Nah. Spanish descent, grew up in the states.

...

See Smartphones are just for people who want pocket computers.

Magic!

>Iphones are easy to fix. iOS is garbage though.
I thought the opposite. I had to change the batteries on my iphone 5 and i felt like I was a jeweler.

I use pic related. Yes, I'm OP.

Batteries specifically are a pain in the dick because Apple loves using those stupid fucking adhesive strips. Screens, cameras, speakers, proximity sensors, home buttons - all that shit is modular and very easily replaceable.
Keep in mind Apple doesn't want you to repair your device.

>Keep in mind Apple doesn't want you to repair your device.
That should be a law to make things easy to repair. Might put Walmart out of business though.

It really should be illegal to have poor or undoable construction.
I can't tell you how many times I've lost money on a repair job just because the insides were poorly designed.

I have Nokia Lumia 820. It's dead won't turn on I need the data from that cellphone any help? Also not water damge or something just died left on charger over night was working then suddenly dead.

Does it work when plugged in? Have you tried a new battery? Does it vibrate on startup and if it does has it vibrated when you tried to turn it on?
Your data is most likely recoverable, but I couldn't tell you how much a repair will run you without properly diagnosing it. That could be the charging port, the battery, the screen, or a board issue, and if it's a board issue you need a microsoldering technician.

do you save the nudes you find on those phones? answer honestly

how do phones play music through sequences of numbers and mathematical nonsense?

I would like to do your job.
Can you give me some advices about how I can learn all the necessary?

It's dead changed batteries still dead. Won't turn on I wanted to get repaired but guy told all data will be lost so I didn't try to get repaired.

How much does an OEM Apple iPhone X LCD screen replacement repair cost?

>food dehydrator

Fucking Ubif pleb detected.

sage

Part basically not even available and if it is 350+ just for part.

>has pictures like that saved on his hard drive
faggot

>probably breaks off iphone battery adhesive tabs like a faggot and then damages board trying to pry it out

Gotcha, thanks.

What repair is the biggest pain in the ass to do?

Faggot ghetto blaster shit like samsung j3 and all the pleb tier shit they peddle at metro pcs that dumbass people think is worth fixing and the shit is basically made to be disposable.

Also consoles. Especially nintendo shit like WII and DS fucking shit is poorly designed as fuck compared to mobile devices.

>doesn't deny being a faggot
>pretty much confirms being a faggot
how does it feel to be a faggot

bretty gud :DDDDD

>2018
>not using NAND SSD

now who's gay?

JerryRigEverything?

nice trips. Do you install RAT's on peoples phones?

Nice trips.

Average cost of battery replacement for an S7?

I don't go through personal data.

Fuck if I know. I take things apart and put them together. I do software issues as well but I'm not a software engineer.

Take things apart and put them together. Bear in mind unless you're independent this field isn't too lucrative. If you want to get paid more per hour, get into microsoldering and circuits. Otherwise expect to start at $9 or $10 and work your way up. Make sure you follow guides at first, and always keep track of your screws and exactly where they go.

Again, it's probably recoverable. See another company about getting it diagnosed. Go somewhere with a microsoldering tech.

Part isn't on the market. Sorry bud. Fuck the iPhone X though.

Perfect temperature, faggot. Makes life so much easier.

>damaging your board while trying to remove a battery

^These posts are spot on. Disagree about the DS though, those are simple enough imo. The most painful ones in my opinion are Galaxy Actives. Those screens are a fucking nightmare to replace, you're almost guaranteed to break them.

Ths nigga.

Somewhere around 80 bucks. 20 if you have the tools and do it yourself, the batteries are pretty inexpensive.

Nope.

Nope.

Hello. Is it me you're looking for?

Will I survive 2018 , and don't kill myself?

Nope.

I'm already in computers repair and I'm indipendent, but my fear about smartphone and tablets is to damage the devices, and if the device is an iPhone we are talking about a lot of money...

the type of storage medium I prefer to use in my computer has nothing to do with my sexual orientation

I think the same :/

dat engrish

If you follow a schematic it's very hard to damage things. Don't know how to tear something down? YouTube. It's definitely worth the extra money, especially if there aren't other technicians in your area.
Also, never open something without knowing how it opens and what you need to watch for. That's the easiest way to break something.

Sorry for my shitty eng, it isn't my native language

Where can I find schematics?

Google and YouTube. Images, manuals, construction details, anything you can find. Chances are if it exists, someone took it apart and posted about it. I would highly recommend iFixIt's website and videos. They also make amazing equipment, if you're in need of it.

A log canoe. Pretty much have to start all over.

Do people ask you to unlock phones that have a pattern or a pin?

I have a question.
So i was self repairing my iphone 6(screen replacement). When i was going to plug ribbon cables in i forcefully tryed to plug them into wrong sport then corrected myself and started the phone. Touch screen didnt work (i assume thats because i replaced broken screen with less broken one which was in my drawer for months). So i was goan put the old screen back on but i couldnt turn the phone off so i just unplugged the screen and put the other one back on. Then the phone was in a bootloop so i tried to restore it but itunes shows error 4013. Is it fixable ?

Ok thank you Sup Forumsro...
For notebooks my tactic are search the service manual and follow the official procedure, but with smartphone I never found the manuals.. I will, look better about iFixit, thanks

Man knows truth

It's a hardware problem. It probably isn't related to the screen you put on since the screen is powering on and that error pops up because of connectivity issues between your phone and computer. Probably fixable, take it somewhere for a diagnostic. Most places do free diagnostics.
Otherwise, try a different port on your computer, try a different cable, and test the port for continuity to the internals. Could be a board problem.

No problem user!

Okay thanks mate

Adhesive required for swapping a battery on Nexus 6? I have had the luck of not dealing with adhesive before. I've handled general repairs on devices without adhesive.

The phone does have adhesive, but you don't need any for the battery I'm pretty sure. Be careful opening that phone, there's a ribbon cable right next to the volume button.

I should clarify: for anything that has adhesive, find out where the adhesive is and heat up that area before opening it. Alternatively, stick it in a dehydrator. For the nexus 6 battery, you shouldn't need adhesive to put a new one in, and I think the battery is held by a ribbon cable.

Hey op I'm trying to start up myself. Could you show me a few resources, info, flow charts anything at all to learn to fix them? Thanks

How do you advertise?

When mongoloids gmail lock their phones or apple activation lock them, can you break it without resetting everything on the phone?

>Anyone that owns a smartphone is a moron.
Lel

Thanks. The battery life is shit (turns off around 70%) and the phone has insane heat issues. Probably close to grenade status if not already there. Wouldn't constant exposure to such heat have already taken care of the adhesive?

When I asked about the adhesive I guess I should have specified about the back plate. The phone should be fine without me applying adhesive after replacing the battery right? I do have a heat gun but it states ceramic on there (dewalt heat gun). I haven't done research on that yet.

Final question, any sites that offer good spare parts besides the standard ones? I usually order off of ebay and haven't had any issues. Considering repairing a tablet my cousin broke (digitizor which is cheap already, but hey more savings).

Owner of an Samsung Galaxy S8 here,if I use a type-c charger not by Samsung created(example I have one by hama) and if I use the charger from hama will the battery of my phone be weaker or it doesn't matter which charger I use????

Invest in wireless charging. Any type c cable should be fine for an S8 but cheaply made units may cause damage to your battery. Don't know the quality of Hama

get any porn?
also, post pics.

What do you do with a tablet that won't turn on. Tried charging them overnight, the tablets belonged to kids who dropped them and theres like 5 of them so I dunno where to start. One is a Sony Xperia tablet that's worth a bit

Not op but I've never gone through phones. Have seen few weird pics but i kept it to myself.

I want a decent advertising scheme

I'm trying to understand how a food dehydrator helps to remove adhesive in a phone? I can understand using one to dry out a water damaged phone. How does it make the adhesive come loose? Or is it just the actual heat that you are applying? I fix phones and tablets myself and use a cheap chinese heating matt bought from ebay for around $20

Note 5 motherboard fix or pass

are there any companys i shouldnt trust to fix my phone?

Where do you dump the nudes?

My Galaxy S5 has developed the tendency to restart if dropped/squeezed in a certain way, and occasionally just out of the blue when Im not even holding it. I'm assuming it's a connection problem with the battery, but Im not sure. I dont want to upgrade and feed the industrial monster corporations, is it fixable?

Also the phone is like 3 years old

Not OP, but Im guessing that it just melts the adhesive enough that you can pull whatever is glued right off easily

Familiarize yourself with all iPhones, those have the biggest market. iFixit does great teardowns on them. Get yourself some magnetic screw mats (they sell ones that have a full size image of the phone they're for, highly recommend those) as well as some anti-static mats. Get familiar with the Galaxy series and the popular LG phones. Take them apart and put them back together, repetition is key. Do not misplace screws. Keep track of where they go and in what order. Never work on a phone without unplugging the battery.
Any phone you get is probably on YouTube or Google, those are the best resources to learn to take them apart, and once you take them apart replacing components is very simple.
May post some links later, I'm a little busy at the moment.

Craigslist, magazines, Groupon, and Google ads. Google ads are a must.

Nope. iCloud and Google locked phones are basically just paperweights.

Yes, it should be fine without reapplication of adhesive. I'm pretty sure the backplate is held on by adhesive. Also, heat never removes adhesive, it only softens it temporarily.
EBay is the best place for parts honestly. Brutal shit with the battery, the only thing that bothers me more than that is an lcd burn.

Doesn't matter as long as it gets the right amperage. Wireless charging is a good workaround like said.

Get it diagnosed. Could be a dead lcd, could be internal damage, could be anything really. No way to work on it without knowing what the problem is.

None that isn't from my stash.

Heat. It's literally the perfect temperature. Doesn't fuck up components, softens the adhesive very well.

Pass.

Any place that offers repairs under 30 minutes. They often leave things out.

Sorry bud.

Probably battery. S5 was the last one with an external battery, just buy a new one, they're cheap. If that doesn't work then it's probably something you can't fix without proper equipment and/or steady hands.

Correct! And I don't have to worry about uneven heating or anything. Works like a charm.

How would you diagnose?

What's the approximate cost I should look to pay to repair the screen on my Samsung galaxy s8+?

Are you the tablet user?

Somewhere around 350. Samsung LCDs are expensive as hell, user. Buy a case and tempered glass off ebay next time.

ever found any material you had to report to police like cp?

>Use a food dehydrator
>Repair technician

Ya ok m8

Yeah I have an otterbox but the shitty screen protector I spent 40$ at best buy for fell off an hour before it got smashed lol.. Thanks Sup Forumsro

See and Everyone thinks it's weird to use a dehydrator, but it's way easier than a heat gun or a hot plate, and works better.

Not yet, no.

No problem. It doesn't need to be a crazy case, I find a hybrid hard plastic/rubber hybrid works best for its price point.

Sorry for late reply, yea Im the tablet guy

The process I would take depends on whatever the results of each thing I do are. Check if it turns on when plugged in. Try replacing the battery. Check for any kind of response when you try to power it on - vibration, sound, anything.
If none of that shows the problem, take a multimeter and check for continuity from the port and battery to the internals.
If all you know is that it's not powering on, there's a lot of stuff it could be. That's why I recommend just taking it to a shop, since most places do free diagnostics.
