I hope you realize a lot of password recovery prompts disguise the length of the email.
ie: it always shows dots up to 13 characters instead of revealing there's only 3 unknown characters.
I don't know that that's what this particular one is doing. I'm just throwing that out there since you seem to be giving the number of dots a lot of weight in this.
