If you have a warrant out for your arrest and a cop runs your license plate, does that warrant show up...

If you have a warrant out for your arrest and a cop runs your license plate, does that warrant show up? Or is it only when they run your name/license number? I found out today I have a warrant out for not paying a traffic ticket and I'm gonna head down there to post the bond, but I don't want to risk driving there if a cop is behind me and runs it and sees there a warrant. FYI my license is not suspended but I'm still paranoid.

Anybody else wonder who got this post?

If the tag is registered to your name, thou your name popping up he'll call in your name to automatically run a warrant check. It procedure to run warrant when searching for tags

It may have a lot to do with whatever system the respective police/sheriff's department uses. When your tag is run, all of the information associated with the registration should appear. They may pull you over if there is a flag based on your name, and then ask for your license which will then reveal the warrant.

Play it safe and get to the county clerk's office and do what you need to do via Uber or a friend.

Yes, entering the plate # in the unit computer will return the name and address of the registered owner. Outstanding posted warrants will also be listed so as to alert the requesting officer.

You should certainly assume yes......

depends. are you white? if so you may be safe just to drive there then if you get pulled over stay calm and politely explain you were just heading to the courthouse to get it fixed now, and the officer who pulled you over could escort you there if he wants to. also you're probably fine anyways so whatever.

just have the money and ticket with you. if you get stopped, say you're on your way to pay it. how do they expect you to pay it if you don't go there? also you could just call the cops and say you're coming to the station to pay before you leave.

They wait until you pop up in a traffic stop unless it's violent or a felony. If you don't go to court they will also nail you with failure to appear which is usually another misdemeanor to deal with, but it may make you a flight risk so to jail, no bail until court.

Unless you are stopping someone for a traffic infraction why would you be running their plate? Seems like a corrupt waste of resources.

I'm the Deputy who posted earlier.

If the warrant has been issued, he's had plenty of time and opportunity to clear the ticket and the Court has decided that he needs to be brought in.

Even if he had the ticket and cash with him, the LEO that stopped him in this scenario could still make the arrest and book him. Then he's stuck with impound fee's, fines on the original ticket, etc. Shit, some municipalities even have booking fees.

Not saying it's right, just that I've seen it happen.

>how do they expect you to pay it if you don't go there?
That's not their problem, if I caught you even in the courthouse parking lot I would throw you in jail. I would hope it was a friday evening too.

Not sure if it's the same in every state, but that happened to me. Got pulled over for a busted tail light and when he ran my info saw the warrant. This was in Ohio, but the cop who pulled me over was about 150 miles from where the warrant was issued.

Normally I'd risk it but this city in particular has cops heavily paroling that area where the courthouse is and they're a bunch of assholes. There is gonna be a snowstorm tomorrow so I figure MAYBE they'll be to busy with accidents and street cleaning to randomly check plates, but I dunno
That's kinda what I figured
There is no way in hell they would escort me there. These people are ridiculous. I could probably be literally in front of that shit parking the car and they'd still arrest me

You're correct, the LEO would only run a plate for a reason. At least that's what we're supposed to do.

yeah well some of you pigs are human beings too. probably not you, though, Deputy

So what if they run my plate, see the warrant, but I'm not doing anything for them to legally pull me over? You're saying I have to actually do something illegal in my car to get pulled over? Because I'm worried they will pull me over BECAUSE I have a warrant, or does it not work that way? This warrant is $95 dollars btw

Standard Operating Procedure

If they run the plate and it comes back with a warrant they will find a reason to pull you over.

I'm at work baby sitting a construction zone with yellows on giving advice to anons on Sup Forums. No need to be rude, just trying to help.

No. The valid warrant is enough to stop and arrest you.

Guy in the thread asking if his south American girlfriend is ugly

Just have someone else drive you

We almost always only run a plate if you give a reason to, like a traffic violation or speeding, window tint, etc. Your plate will be run before we ever step foot out of the unit so that we have as much information about you (assuming it's you in the vehicle) as possible.

NOW, all the LEO has to say is that you were swerving. Most well used excuse to pull someone over and virtually impossible to defend yourself against.

I know, it's shitty.

So you're saying this is legal
>Hello why was I stopped
>You have a warrant
That's it just like that?
There is no one else. I can take public transportation but I hate that shit

See my post above yours. There's a good chance you could cruise over there just fine (especially if it's snowing, we don't do weather well), but if for ANY reason any LEO has any reason to pull you over and run the plate, he could get you.

I'm going to be on this construction zone for hours, do you guys think an ama would be worth it on Sup Forums? I like giving anons solid advice from the LE point of view.

GET A RIDE!!!! Also, depending on where you live, you may want to wear a face mask. There are some cities using very powerful facial recognition on cameras located at intersections that are directing police to the location of people with warrants.

Yes, that's why I never put plates on my car. I just put a cardboard in the window saying L.A.F.

I haven't actually paid for reg & plates once since the day I bought this car in 2011. When I'm done with it I'm going to pull up to the beaner neighborhood, get out, leave the engine running, door open, and walk away. If they ever ask me about it I'll explain it broke down and I had to abandon it years ago.

If he's white, he could just tell the cop to fuck off and that he'll deal with it later.

If he's a nigger he should get down on all fours spread eagle and reach back and open his anus for k9 inspection lol

Again, depending on where you live, they can run your plate if they are bored and sitting at a traffic light. Then they will make up literally anything to pull you over. Too fast. Too slow. Swerving. You looked distracted.

Fuck him. He's probably a nigger anyway.

Large cities have license plate scanners mounted on patrol cars. They scan every plate, automatically, and run the registered owner for wants and warrants. If they get a hit on the RO, the computer beeps, and a traffic stop ensues. The existence of an arrest warrant is sufficient cause to stop and identify you, and if you are the wanted person, arrest you. You don't have to do anything at all to get arrested if you have a warrant.

A baseball cap works or glitter if you're a girl.

going to court with dashcam footage showing you didnt swerve help you out?
