Why after doing a labour intensive action, such as shoveling snow, or running a mile on the treadmill, or lifting packages all day etc. Then my left ass cheek hurts?
It's a pain to take a step and it's always my left ass cheek... Not the right one.
The pain dosnt show until 1: a couple hours after the labor intensive action 2: I start walking. If I am laying down or sitting there is no pain. It's only if I start walking.
Joseph Morales
Do you stretch that area?
Asher Richardson
hey user, Is it hurting you even afer several days of rest ? The pain only occur after the effort ? How would you describe the pain ? ( drills, intense, ect ?? It hurts when you touch your left side ? Does it hurt when you are laying on the bed and make your leg move ?
Anthony Diaz
I get this too. Only it’s right above my ass cheek, at the very bottom of my back.
Colton Brooks
Are you planting on that leg and pivoting? Might just be the extra strain.
Brandon Ortiz
imbalance of muscle. you prob overcompensate with the right glute, resulting in underdeveloped left glutes.
Ryder Mitchell
muscle strain. Left ass check because you subconsciously do repetitive actions in the same stance. being out of shape or a fatty doesn't help the issue
Owen Miller
does it hurts since past year ? past decade ? past mounth ? (maybe because of your shoes) (If it's since a looong time, how old are you ? ) I realise that if i'm not having several information about you i cannot start a diagnosis ha ... describe yourself like you imagine you first meet someone and you make a portait of him !
Asher Lewis
>hey user, >Is it hurting you even afer several days of rest ? The pain goes away on it's own in maybe a day and a half or something but it ALWAYS returns when doing anlabor intensive action. Been like this for as long as I could remember. >The pain only occur after the effort ? Yeah >How would you describe the pain ? ( drills, intense, ect ?? It's a sharp pain Everytime I take ansteo >It hurts when you touch your left side ? Nah doesn't really hurt when I touch it >Does it hurt when you are laying on the bed and make your leg move ? Nah not really... Only when I take a step when walking

A step*
Landon Campbell
maybe that but we doesn't know shit about OP, Is he fit ? young ? old ? might be a lot of different things.. But sure i can say that the most plausible thing is muscle inflammation due to a unbalances forces strain.

Nah everything I do is equal... Or at least I think I do, unless I subconsciously do it like Said. I'll pay more attention on my stance... I'll also try doing squats to help the ass muscle. Hopefully not an ass rumor or anything

Tumor* not rumor

This happens to me. My left leg is a few mm longer than my right. So it’s imbalance for me. Doubt you have the same issue.
Alexander Long
I had a similiar problem. It also caused back pain. I had a knee surgeory years ago, and turns out I relearned to walk in a way that put the stress differently on both of my feet. I got shoe inserts to correct the problem. I reccomend seeing a real doctor.
Austin Scott
Sounds like your piriformis muscle (runs across your butt, from your spine to the outside of your leg...this is how you rotate your leg outward). Your sciatic nerve runs through it.
Back pain can manifest itself via a spasm in this muscle. Also, if you've got sciatic nerve issues (bulging/herniated disc?) this can also cause the pain anywhere up and down your leg.
Tyler Fisher
We're moving forward.
So Does the pain irridiate anywhere (upper ankle, knees) in your body when you walk after an intensif labor ? Does you have sensitve changes when you touch your feet ? (Electricals sentations , loss of the perception of touching your feet, pain) ? Do you walk normally when the pain is the hardest ? ( you don't going limp ?)
Jose Evans
Serious: I have exact this issue several times a year, i think it comes from sitting in front of the computer for several hours every day. It's the sciatic nerve, you can find many treatments that help you, but it will come back. I suggest cooling instead of heating it.

Physical therapist here....I am 100% positive you are describing a pelvic nutation...or pelvic rotation, or also can contribute to SI (sacroiliac) dysfunction. It's really common with younger adults...above person is right, it leads to muscle imbalance. U need to see a PT or Chiropractor for manual correction + pelvic stabilizer exercises. It is fixable.
John King
Nah I limp walk for sure when the pain is there... Not any other area really.. just the left ass cheek, it causes a sharp pain when I walk, so I end up limping. It goes away after a day or something but as I said it returns whenever doing something intensive.
Colton Lee
Same PT here....it can he intermittent pain that can travel from above butt, to groin, to lateral or side him. It is always one sided, and can switch sides. Won't go away until u correct your pelvic alignment. Hope this helps my friend.
David Morris
most likely because of the way you orient your body while shoveling snow. If you lean forward with a slight bend in your left knee while pushing the snow, you're likely to be more sore because of the larger range of motion.
Shoveling snow is a seasonal activity, if you're less active than persay someone who works out nearly everyday, your muscles aren't quite used to stretching that far, and assisting in motion. Nothing unhealthy, just exercise you fat shit
Kayden Morales
Ok thanks my dude... Screenshot Ed your comment for future reference. I'll see what to do

Ok OP !
So you wi'll be reading a lot of stuff there for sure on this tread. I'm a last year Medecine school student, but i could say that remotly i'could'nt do much but after reading your answers I could say that you need to see a specialist Physician. I don't know which country you live in and what are the solution for you, the price for a physician. But if you go to a chiropractor or soemone like that it'll help you on the short time. I can say that it's maybe a balance problem ( limbs from different height, flat feet, IDK) or maybe from the back bones . I could't do a clinical exam , but i thinks is required since the pain is there and make you limb ! You should rest until seeing someone if you can't really move with it ! It's normally a sign that something is wring ,BUT BUT i couldn't see you so i can't tell if is realy so important too ...
So, have care you'll be better i hope
Isaac Gray
Lol yeah thanks a lot for trying to help, don't worry about it. Like another person said, I will work on my ass muscles and see if it makes a difference and try to position my stand correctly. But yeah maybe a balance problem. I'll look into it!
Ayden Thomas
I might be that, unfortunatly we cannot see you walking ...
It's up too you to judge the pain, and the difficulty of your walk !
Like i said if the price for viewing a chiropratoc or an ortopedic physician go to th phisician he 'ill solve the problem at it's roots :)
James Watson
This. Google Piriformis stretches and also look up how to check if your hips are in allignment. I'd honestly foam roll all of the muscles in your leg including calves, stretch the calves, hamstrings, and quads and then try to strengthen the area. Often times one imbalance leads to another and where it originated, I wouldn't know but if you check off all the boxes of shit that could be wrong, you should be good. I honestly believe alignment and stretching should be your start.
