I’ve been listening to the Outcast album lately. Fishing Blues is a fucking great album too

the entire godlovesugly album

I meant Overcast album. Fuck I should pre-read before I post more.

Double dubs of truth. Amazing album

Two of the greatest rappers in history right here

Bumping for greatness

bump

shrapnel. i was in the bar sudsys in cincinnati that night

Ever seen any Rhymesayers artists in concert? I saw Aesop over the summer and it was fucking great

must not sleep, must warn others

Fuck man, I’m jealous. Is that what inspired the line about Cincinnati in Trying to Find a Balance?

Fuck ya I love rhymesayers

no i wish, id love to see any of them, closest I've come is I saw Sage Francis a long was time ago

i used to live in cincinnati in the 90s and early 2000s
mood, lone cats, aesop, el p, murs, etc.
seen em all a handful of times
look up "scribble jam"

hello ma'am, would you be interested in some sexual positions and emotional investments

thats the consensus

Will do Sir. Thanks! I wish I could borrow your life for a few and go back in time

Coach seeing red
Coach on the diamond
Dragging 27 inches of aluminum behind him

you wouldnt want my life now, but that was a great time

Have you listened to Fishing Blues at all? Great album IMO

>Atmosphere
As in Atmospheric Sludge Metal? Then ISIS

ISIS is fucking amazing, oceanic and panopticon

Best wishes from here on out man. I’m sure you’ve heard Guarantees by Atmosphere, if you haven’t I’m sure you could relate a little.

I’m lost Sup Forumsros enlighten me

WE CANT LET THE ATMOSPHERE THREAD EVAPORATE. BUMP.

Yesterday
The Last to Say

And the don't that sings "these problems are the good ones to have."

my nigga

*song

I thought I saw you yesterday, but we was walking the opposite ways

Sunshine is my jam.

Fuck yeah home skillet, still bumping that good shit, kids and their mumble-core rap these days are just passing up the opportunities to listen to legendary artists

My nigga

multiples (reprise remix)

MY NIGGA.
This song is what inspired me to post this thread. Fucking boss

Always coming back home to you. Really hits the feels. Living with my fiance away from our home and family while she finishes grad school. We met because she went to college in my home town. She's used to being away from home, but these last couple years have been hell for me. I never knew how bad being homesick could hurt and I have always thought of myself as being stronger mentally than a lot of people. Just waiting for her to finish a certificate and then we can GTFO.

Other than that since it's like 8 degrees outside Bitter is also appropriate and been digging on that lately.

Modern mans hustle, your glass house, little man, saves the day, the woman with the tattooed hands, and in her music box are all some of my go to favorites. Fireflys is an amazing song for summer nights.

Grieves is a buddy of mine on the Rhymesayers label.

Nice, he better hook you up to some dope shows here and there

scapegoat.

Keep the head up brother, and thanks for the suggestions. Cold as a motherfucker is right! I can barely step outside to have a cigarette for 2 minutes in this shit

Anyone in this thread ride/used to ride BMX or skate?

Yes. This

song about a friend
lambslaughter
put your quarter up
fuck you lucy
etc. prefer the older stuff, but ive been listening to most of the rhymesayers for the last decade...feel kinda old thinking about it

been skating for 30 years. not as much recently but it's still my center of existence really.

Nice, I’m glad to hear you’re still staying true. Wish there were more people like you around

Thanks man, no problem. Check out Rittz sometime, he's a rapper(not an atmosphere song.) Definitely nowhere near the same style as Slug, but a very good newer rapper. He was on Strange Music's lable, idk if he is anymore. Dude is a straight spitter though, only has like 3 albums, The Life and Times of Johnny Valiant and Next to Nothing are two great albums. One of the few rappers you can listen to almost every song on the album

Definitely will check those guys out, one of the reasons I liked Atmosphere so much was because liked almost every song on the album which is rare for me. So I will definitely take your word on it! Gonna turn some on and hopefully pass the fuck out before it gets even later than it is.

Haven’t listened to them in years, they have good songs but I’ve moved to more progressive rappers

No regrets

Long time Atmospher/Slug listener, but I discovered Rittz a couple years ago (a handful of months before his album Top of the Lone came out in 2016).

The first song I heard by him and still my favorite is For Real. Other songs I love by him are My Interview, Amen, Blow, Call 911, and Until We Meet Again.

Pic related

As fa as Rittz goes, check out: For real, Sober, Like I am, Switch lanes, Sleep at Night, Bounce, Living a dream, Crown royal. All good songs. He's a lot like Twista in how fast and accurate he spits, he even collabs on a couple tracks with him

*Top of the Line*

This thread is now about Rittz

Flight Of The Choncords anyone?

My woman and I saw him at a small venue show like 3 years ago, in a shitty country dance bar no one goes to anymore they tried to turn into a venue/club.. tickets were like $20. There was seriously 60 people tops at that show. The stage was basically a 2ft tall wooden box, no guard rail. Was one of the best small venue shows I had ever attended. Handed Rittz a blunt and he put it in his mouth and was about to spark it and the manager gave him the 'dont do that' signal and he put it behind his ear for later, was pissed lol

A bunch of other lower-level rappers on the Strange Music lable were there just hanging out and BSing with fans like Ces Cru and a few other random rappers. Best $40 ever spent. Got some autographs, handshakes, and hugs 9/10 would do again. Only way it would have been better is if we got to share thar blunt with the man or invited onto his bus to do blow or something

Confirmed. Rittzthread. I’m listening to the sweet sounds that you suggested right now. You’re a god amongst men, I would have gone my whole life without listening to this beast if it wasn’t for you I am forever thankful

That sounds like a fucking great time

Literally everyone I have introduced him to was like 'holy fuck, rap is still alive' (thanks alot shitty fucking mumblerap/trap shit)

I'm usually weary of listening to new artists under the presumption that if I haven't already heard of someone then that's probably because they suck.

I'm glad 2 years ago I gave my Spotify's "Daily Mix" a shot when it landed on For Real. I quickly went through Rittz' whole library.

His newest album, Last Call, just came out a few m9nths ago and I believe it's his first album since leaving Strange Music. I've only listened to it a time or two and still don't know my favorite songs on it.

While we're on the topic, you gotta watch the music video Sleep at Night on YouTube. For whatever reason it isn't on Spotify. His new music video I'm Only Human is deep too.

I’m screenshotting this convo so I don’t forget anything, you’re a goldmine of good music

youtu.be/ggHgSZXROPE

I find myself screenshotting a lot of stuff on Sup Forums

I'm surprised there are some genuinely intelligent people that come to thus bottom dwelling septic reservoir of the surface web.

sound is vibration, scapegoat, sunshine

youtu.be/UYzvjeM6oTQ

I was just thinking the same thing my dude, you’re picking my brain and it’s tripping me out! There sure is a lot of cancer on this site but I’m always satisfied when good and interesting/educational things come up. I’d buy you a beer if we were at the bar right now, cheers

And who makes the music and who makes the sound and who makes the music and who makes the sound

Wow today Sup Forums wasn't trash

Agreed

I think you mean Freefallin. That one, Yesterday and The Best Day are my favs no doubt

This threads been up for a while now, never expected it to live this long but there were lots of great stories and music suggestions. Just shows that fans of good music are alive and well, and on that note, I’m passing out. Thank all of you generous anons, until next time

Same newfriend
Unfortunately I pretty much move in silence when it comes to this site. I'll lurk, and occasionally post, but I dare not make it public to the people in my life that I come here lol

Anybody here fuck with Eyedea? RIP

God Loves Ugly
Summertime
Lucy Ford
Onemosphere
Too many to name actually. Sluggo is in my top 5 rappers of all time.

Fuck yes, I just watched Eyedea and Slug freestyling on the wakeup show back in the day. That guy blows my mind

Mine as well, Slug, Aesop Rock and Eyedea are 3 of my top 5

Too much of a coincidence to see atmosphere for a secound time I usually dont comment on shit but , coincidences are usually sighns for something.

You're right. As soon as you said Feefallin the beat dropped in my head.

Yesterday is my favorite no doubt. And Best Day and Feefallin are my 2nd and 3rd choices in either order for his top 3 best songs.

A couple guilty pleasures are Party Over Here and (I think it's called) Girl with Tattooed Hands. Clearly not his more mainstream stuff but if you like Atmosphere you'll like those songs.

While we're on the topic of little known non-black rappers, someone listen to Know It All by Mac Lethal.

I believe so too Sup Forumsro, this is the first time I’ve posted a thread on this shitty site in about a year. Definitely a sign

The loser wins

I’m on it. More ear pleasure incoming

Yesterday got me through both my parents dying within about 6 months of each other. That shit was rough.

Become (became?) Is another one of my personal favorites due to its meaning to me. A lot of his shit resonates too well with my depressing ass life lol

Not exactly the same vibe as the rymesayers but I can tell everyone in this thread are some top notch lads so I wanted to shout out Benefit. This dude was hype as fuck on Napster back in the day. You might or might not like him but lend him an ear for a second his lyrics are genuine and clever. youtu.be/sswErZ0T-Us

If you like that be sure to check out. "So sick" "behold" and "kill em"

Have you ever listened to Caved In?
It’s hard as fuck for me to listen to that song without bawling my eyes out, I have to skip it when it comes on. Songs don’t usually have that effect on me and I’m pretty cold hearted, but damn something about that song turns me into a crybaby.

Make out bandit and Calm down baby are two great Mac Lethal songs. Also from Kansas, only about 25 miles from where Mac Lethal is from

I can’t believe it, this is the first cancer free thread that I’ve seen on Sup Forums in ages.

Scapegoat followed by God's bathroom floor

Had a date with Divinity but she wouldn’t let me fuck

Right? I bet everyone in this thread is a fucking bro. The vibes in here are different it's hard to believe this is Sup Forums. Did we slip into another universe?

Agreed 100%. Hell this thread is even less cancerous than Facebook. I would buy everyone here a round of drinks for good times

Can't believe this song went under my radar. I'm listening to it now.

As far as Mac Lethal goes, his shit is decent on average. Hit or miss. Some songs are on point while others are forgettable. But one song I've always enjoyed by him is Wooooo!!!!!!! (Exclamation marks are his)

As long as we're talking about somewhat obscure artists, I'll throw the name Shane Koyczan out there. Admittedly not for everyone but! if you love Atmosphere and Rittz as I do, you might appreciate his messages. His is more spoken word with music, not raps or singing so much. My favorite 3 tracks by him are, in order, To This Day, Tomatoes, and Visiting Hours.

Again I know most probably won't dig him. But if I put just one person on on then I'm glad I suggested him.

Random pork pic because this is still Sup Forums after all.

In the early 90s i met slug at a ghetto ass house party on the north side minneapolis. Dude was pretty cool. Been listening to him ever since.

That is epic man, I’d remember that for the rest of my life

Porn*

But she is looking a little pork roasty.

God damn man, I have like a months worth of music to listen to now because of you. I was running out of good artists that I wasn’t getting a little bored of but now the shelves are fully stocked

Is eat that ass like some pork for sure

Listen to The Glowing Screens Part 2 by Watsky.

Like Shane Koyczan, Watsky isn't for everyone. But that one song in particular I've always enjoyed.

Argent Combat

I was born to be profound, and I'm not new to this, I used to ryhme on ultra sound out of my mom's uterus

I love lines like this, funny and witty as fuck

Bro I'm blown away. I ducking loved that shit. I almost wanna be a normie hipster faggot and share that on my Facebook. Bonus points for Matisyahu (he grew on me slowly when I first heard One Day on a friends iPod nearly 10 years ago. Went from not liking it to buying like 3 of his albums)
