I use voice recordings to keep it simple, you'll be trying out a basic session that gives you an idea of how it feels to be hypnotized without any other effects.

Yeah it's designed to set you up for deeper trances the more you listen. If you get a feeling similar to daydreaming or zoning out then you'll know for sure it's working, but becoming relaxed can still mean you were in a light trance.
