Ask a Recruiter anything

know anything about CBRN Specialist/74th Division in national guard?

DO YOU SUCK DICKS?

how available are navy cti ratings atm?

Most recruiters can talk more specifically about their particular MOS (Military Police is mine), anything I could tell you you'd be able to look up online yourself. If you want CBRN though you'll need at least a 50 on your ASVAB with decent line scores.

What's the difference between Active Duty, National Guards, and Reserves? My sister wants to join the Air Force

Marine boot here. How easy is it to lat move to Intel from supply. I was open contract.

IF IT MEANS A CONTRACT THEN YES

I heard I needed a 90 on the ASVAB but never actually talked to anyone, thanks though because ive always been obsessed with CBRN stuff

Active Duty = Full time job, plus full medical, dental, and GI Bill. Reserves = Part Time job with partial benefits and pay but a heavier focus on going to college. National Guard = Same as reserve just with a shit budget (state funded, not federal)
Best of luck to you there, wait till its your time to reenlist and you can request a new MOS more often then not.

BULLSHIT I BET YOU CAN SUCK A GOLF BALL FROM A GARDEN HOSE.

Thanks mystery nco/snco
What branch?

If then garden hose is golfball sized then maybe?
Your ASVAB doesn't REALLY mean anything, it's the line scores that compose the ASVAB score, but generally with a 50+ you'll be okay.

Army/Active, good times.

Okay. Btw how exactly does recruiting function? What if my sister lives literally hours away from a recruiting office. Can she still go through the recruiting process without physically going to the office or does she need to visit the office?

I bet. I'm in San Francisco region, doing RA right now. It's dry as fuck out here. I thought recruiter was easy. Boy was I wrong lol

How bad is recruiting for your promotions? For us nukes its a career killer, but I heard it helps other rates/MOS

We really only need a few visits to the office, have her call a recruiter (local) for a prequal and ask what documents she'd need to bring. After that it would only be 1 office visit to build her packet/get her interview, 1 to ship her up to the process station, and 1 for basic training. That's if she's perfect though, if somethings fucked up, you're looking at more trips to the station.

Its based on MOS generally, mine has about a 30% pick up rate compared to a 5% pick up rate without. So it looks good there.
It's a job, ups and downs all the time, just depends on the time of the year

do they still pound jump wings into your chest or do they just hand them to you now?

They are 'supposed' to give you blood wings anymore, but sometimes they still do it. Kind of a crap shoot on who your instructors are when you go to jump school

Going to BCT as a WO candidate at age 29. How fucked am I?

Army realy giving out self harm waivers? I was PDQ at meps but my recruiter has brought back into the office telling me he's almost certain he can get me in

Only as hard as you make it, its more mental fatigue in basic than physical, you'll be tired as hell all the time and hate everyone. Otherwise it isnt as hard as people make it out to be
I'd let your recruiter handle that one. If he/she thinks you've got a shot, they'll do what they can to help you out (probably)
