What the fuck happens there???
Casinos and oil
Gulags no people frozen shithole
I just googled it, besides a ghost town called Ushakovskoye, there is basically nothing on that island. The last inhabitant was killed by a Polar bear in 2003. It's also the last place on earth where mammoths survived. However the Russian Navy plans to establish a new base there.
Mammoths still exist?
Yea, nowadays they live in most of Russia and Mongolia
No but the last known population remained on that island until 4,000 years ago, whereas on other parts of the world mammoths disappeared between 14,000 and 10,000 years ago
...
Wow, that town looks cool to explore.
Hopefully the Russians that are trying to clone a mammoth aren't using their dna though
That frozen mammoth they found some years comes from another island called Maly Lyakhovsky Island
What the fuck.. it must have died very recently since its body is still fresh, is the government hiding something?
Arctic animals and scientists
Ever heard of ice?
>The last inhabitant was killed by a Polar bear in 2003.
>mfw I looked it up and it's true
Don't know if I'd want to use one from an island.
It's actually 40,000 years old, but well-preserved because of the ice
>american education everybody
Please stop making us look more retarded.
It's the best-preserved specimen ever found, if they really wanna clone mammoths they have to use this one. They even found blood and guts in it
Just noticed that it was 40 000 years old
...
I want to live there
Isolation from the rest of this shithole world for the rest of my life
