Best and Worst by Decade Part 1: Best of 1960s

Alright it was a mistake to start with the 50s.

Let's try again with A more album heavy decade.
One album per artist. Post your favorite albums of the 1960s. I already got a good head start.

VU&N
Odyssey and Oracle
Doors
Blonde on Blonde

>Vu&N
fuck that, WL/WH

Already off to a better start than the 50s thread.

you might as well just copy the RYM list but whatever

...

King Crimson - ITCOTCK
Red Crayola - Parable of Arable Land

Captain Beefheart - Trout Mask Replica

The 50s list was looking good when I last saw it.

...

It never got finished.
And I'm considering TMR for the worst list.

A Love Supreme.
Black Saint.
White light.
Live at Apollo.

John Fahey - Volume 6: Days Have Gone By
Charles Mingus - Mingus Mingus Mingus Mingus Mingus
Index - The Index [aka "The Black Album"]

...

>an entire one good song
wowitsfuckingnothing.jpg

Good, to hell with meme rock

>I'm considering TMR for the worst list.
Scuzzi mi puzzi?

I added yours by the way I posted the update before the page loaded.

The Shaggs - Philosophy of the World

Going on the worst list.

To clarify to anyone there's 4 I know is going on the worst list:
The Beatles - Please Please Me
The Shaggs - Philosophy of the World
Captain Beefheart - TMR
David Bowie - Self Titled

Frank Zappa - Freak Out
Jefferson Airplane - Surrealistic Pillow

...

Bill Evans - Sunday at the Village Vanguard/Waltz for Debby
The Who - Tommy
Jimi Hendrix - Are You Experienced?
Herbie Hancock - Maiden Voyage
Grant Green - Idle Moments
Pink Floyd - Piper at the Gates of Dawn
Ornette Coleman - Free Jazz: A Collective Improvisation by Ornette Coleman
Wes Montgomery - The Incredible Jazz Guitar of Wes Montgomery
Stan Getz and João Gilberto - Getz/Gilberto
Sonny Rollins - The Bridge
Tom Jobim - The Composer of Desafinado; Plays
Shinki Chen - s/t
The 13th Floor Elevators - The Psychedelic Sounds of the 13th Floor Elevators
Hank Mobley - Soul Station

There's way worse albums in the 60s than that. There's like Pat Boone and cheesy novelty albums.

Big props for contributing.

We'll cross that bridge when we get to it. If there's enough terrible albums to replace TMR I'll nix it when we get there.

Why do you think TMR should be in the worst ones? You put David Bowie's s/t and Please Please Me there, what's your metric for it?

My song is better Tbh thanks guys

Frank Zappa - Hot Rats

Feck off

It sounds bad and/or is considered a weak album in an artists discography.

Please Please Me and S/T fit the latter.
TMR fit the former, although if there's enough demand I guess I can put it on the good chart instead.

I've tried to get through it 10 times and I thought it was awful, personally.

Already a Zappa album.
And isn't that from 1970?

Not from the 60s.

Nick Drake - Five Leaves Left
Aretha Franklin - Lady Soul

...

NVM, I'm gonna add in TMR

No I'm not tho.

>weak albums mean the worst of that decade
You started to loose me OP
>personally
Nah, fuck your list

Already got like 6 choices painfully wrong

Various artists - Nuggets

where the fuck is Trout Mask Replica?

If you're gonna nag me into it then fine, I'll add it.

There. Happy?

Yeh.

essential vietnam core. throw it on there.

Love - Forever Changes
The Zombies - Odessey and Oracle

Odessy already on there.

Sgt Peppers
Rubber Soul
Abbey Road
White Album

Procol Harum - s/t

...

One. Per. Artist.
Whichever Beatles album is the most requested can replace Revolver.

...

...

What about Big brother and Holding Company - Cheap thrills, Procol Harum's debut album, and Aoxomoxoa by the Dead?

...

...

oh hell yeah

Realized I accidentally had 2 Mingus albums. Fixed

this list is coming out comfy OP. what’s your favorite from the ones listed? what do you think of Procol Harum?

My personal favorite is Days of Future Passed (which is why I listed it first)

Haven't listened to Procol. Might listen through the ones on here I haven't heard.

highway 61 revisited needs to make that list

Thanks.
If anyone wants swapouts now's your chance.
Just be specific what to take out.

Take out Led Zepellin's s/t, put in The Kinks' The Kinks are the Village Green Preservation Society. Led Zepellin's stuff is far more for the 70's.
