I built a new pc two months ago but I got on board audio issues popping crackling etc So I bought myself a external sound card as I had a itx system at that point. Everything worked fine for 2 days then I started to get static interference when using it. So I thought it was the Asus Z370i Board I was using so I got a new case and motherboard (Msi z370 gaming pro carbon). Everything was fine again for 2 days then it came back once again. The static and the pops and crackles I thought it was the power supply so I bought a overkill 1200 watt EVGA supernova P2 but the static came back in 6 hours. It had gotten less violent through my changes before it used to be constant static now its for a few seconds at a time.

Stuff I have tried -

Minimum process state 100% Uninstall all audio drivers apart from the soundcards Tried the sound card on my mums computer no issues Moved my setup into another room Change the power outlet to a different one Turned off or unplug all my peripherals Moved my phone out of my room Got a new PSU, Case , Motherboard, Sound card and new powerplugs Moved the sound card away from everything Got rid of any overclocks (Ram, Cpu and GPU) Disabled all audio outputs I am not using

If anyone can help me fix this I will happily buy them a game on steam around £15 as I have been trying to fix this issue for two months.

Was this meant for Sup Forums??

>LOGitech

Already posted there but I have hope in Sup Forums tards

Try setting your audio quality to “16 bit, 44100 Hz

your issues may be due to using a keyboard as headphones

get a mac

Also

My sound card dosent have those options

I have in the past but ill try it again

Here

The problem is probably in your gpu at this point. Did you try running with on board graphics? Do you still get static?

Install Realtek High Definition Audio Drivers

No mac Windows self build is better then this

Still get static :(

wat

I know but its not there

I have tried different versions same issue

copypaste:
Some users have reported that disconnecting their mouse and keyboard from the PC fixed the audio popping problem. It could be because some ports on the computer are only for PS2 mice and keyboards, so a USB keyboard or mouse will cause problems. Not sure exactly of the details, but give it a shot. If you don’t have the audio problems once they are disconnected, then try using different ports or getting a different mouse or keyboard.

Thanks the help user but sadly I have already tried this. No luck

resplendence com/latencymon

the issue is your ATH M50X.

Tried it on different devices its not it

Im out of suggestions.
Good luck OP!
Nice PC build

maybe it's your phone/ router sitting too close.

Thanks and hopefully ill fix it

Router is in two rooms across and I took my phone out of my room for a day still happened

I see drivers changed. Have you checked for firmware updates?

I check daily for new drives incase it fixes my issue. Everything is up to date

Motherboard bios? And other component firmware?

All up to date

Was your old PC in this same room?

Different speakers?

(Sorry... but must ask the basics)

This

I find that dust is the main cause of static noise so you might wanna consider getting some canned air to blow dust out or a bicycle pump which works as well.

Long cords for analog audio devices can pick up stray radio/micro- waves. Wifi, cellphone, actual radio broadcasts. I have this problem with my speakers. Occasionally they'll buzz and pop whenever my phone is actively sending or receiving data.

Inspect components for failed capacitors. Used to be electrolytic ones would dome thier flat tops.

Maybe missed it but you described everything except the speakers. Are you using normal desktop speakers? Is the sound coming from a tv / monitor? Is the issue present on headphones as well?

You forgot motherboard standoffs

Hoping OP didn't.

OP, send pictures of inside computer.

This.

Same place

Changed everything with caps ( psu, motherboard and tried it without the gpu

Not that dumb guys :)

Sounds coming from my usb soundcard to my headphones. Tried the same equipment on other devices no faults

Also set up photo incase it helps

Have you tried linux from a thumb drive? Changed all the hardware, try the operating system. Not sure what to do if Linux doesn't have the issue.

Could you link me how to install linux as I have never used it before. The static has disappeared for now but it normally comes back. I have a few things to try in windows then ill try linux

Looks decent.

Thanks Ill make a usb drive now incase it comes back

Hmmm a wild guess there but usb ports tend to fluctuate in power since usualy they are in pairs and share the availible current / troughput and if something is drawing more juice from the other one.. well im sure you tried disconnecting all other usb peripherals (mice, kybd, thumbs, ext drives etc) and only plug in the audio for a test?

This coming and going of this issue bothers me.

Did it go away after you opened the case for pictures? What about the other two occurrences where it went away for two days?

Change your audio format in speaker proprieties.

Of course and tried another computer which had no issues

have you considered

I didnt open the case for photos :) tempered glass and it dosent happen when I first used the sound cards only happened after a while. Same with my mics audio output but I have had mic for ages now so I know its not broken

Not yet no

Have you tried moving your EMP away?

Thanks! forgot to do that Ill do it now

Not understanding "doesn't happen when I first use the sound cards only happened after a while"

Is this from a shutdown, sleep, just time away from the computer?

No literally after a while so a day or two. Didn't matter how many times I shut down my pc it was fine then a day or two later it starts

In all seriousness though, I get this issue when I cross cables, or if my ATH-M50X's even go near any USB charger. I know a lot of people manage by bunching cables together and cable tying but my static noise was prevented entirely when I split my cables off into different directions and stopped using external USB hubs.

My sound used to be on my pc and I used the really long cable to connect my headphones to it but now its on my desk so I use a short cable which dosent cross any other cables

OP have you tried building the computer outside of the case, on the motherboard box or something?

I know it's a pain but that's what I'd do.

Changed case from a Corsair 250d to the Fractal Design Define C TG. So its not a case issue

I'm not sure then. I used short cable as well since I would connect directly into my Blue Yeti and occasionally a number of things throw me feedback. Almost always my phone getting a text or charging within like a 30cm proximity of mic, headphones or cables in between. Another cause was my Logitech wireless F710 controller USB stick which I had plugged into the USB port on my Corsair K70. Despite being really far away it kept causing noise so I switched to a wired controller. I think the last audio issue was fixed by me having to turn off the wireless-charge/send feature on my phone like NFC and stuff.

Aside from that I don't really know what else to suggest. This is why I ordered a scarlet 2i2.

It could be some way that one of your components is interacting with whatever case you put it in though

If it only happens "A few seconds at a time" what is the frequency of the occurrences? Every minute? Hour?

Taken the entire computer out of that room?

What's behind the wall and below the floor? Other than porn.

Time for more stupid.

Cover glass with aluminum foil making contact with metal case.
