What are your personal top 5 albums of the 1960's and where does pic related rank?

Pink Floyd - Piper at the Gates of Dawn
The Velvet Underground & Nico - The Velvet Underground & Nico
The Misunderstood - Before the Dream Faded
King Crimson - Court of the Crimson King
The Stooges - The Stooges

at the top, right behind the beatles

1. The Beach Boys - Pet Sounds
2. The Velvet Underground & Nico
3. Bob Dylan - Blonde on Blonde
4. The Beatles - Revolver
5. Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin II

Idk where The Doors would be, I didn’t like them for the longest time but finally gave that album a fair chance a few weeks ago and loved it.

Brigitte Fontaine - Brigitte Fontaine est...?
Grant Green - Idle Moments
Horace Tapscott - The Giant is Awakened
The Mothers of Invention - We're Only in It for the Money
Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers - Free for All

Doors s/t is great though, rocky and theatrical, moody but still fun.

The Doors are trash. Hurrrr I did drugs in the desert durrrr listen to me sceam about it. Take Jim Morrison out and they would've been maybe okay.

1. The Doors - The Doors
2. The Beatles - Abbey Road
3. Bob Dylan - Blonde on Blonde
4. Beach Boys Pet Sounds
5. Velvet Underground - Velvet Underground and Nico

I mean, pretty much 90% of lists you're gonna get are gonna be generic as fuck (the same ~10 albums in different arrangements)

Lol they continued releasing music after Morrison's death

Please stop trying to derail my thread

Is The Doors accepted on Sup Forums now? In the mainstream world, it's real cool to like The Doors - but whenever anybody would talk about them here, they'd be told to GTFO.

I'm not sure The Doors would make it onto my top 5. I'm not even sure The Beatles would make it on my top 5 (though I love both bands).

I feel like Strange Days was a much better album, but you can't deny the urgency and excitement of the band's self titled album...

I'd have to think long and hard about my top 5.

All their music without Morrison ranged from shit to real shit. It's strange, he didn't compose any of the music yet he was essential to their greatness. Kind of like Steve Jobs

>but whenever anybody would talk about them here, they'd be told to GTFO.

not my experience at all

ehehehehehhuhuhu dooob

Jefferson Airplane - After Bathing at Baxter's
The United States of America - s/t
Van Dyke Parks - Song Cycle
The Velvet Underground - White Light/White Heat
Aphrodite's Child - 666

The Doors s/t is of course excellent, although I prefer Strange Days

Revolver
White Album
Velvet Underground Banana
Village Green Preservation Society
Face to Face
