Give me one good reason why Pornography isn't the best album by The Cure

Give me one good reason why Pornography isn't the best album by The Cure.

Disintegration exists

cause Seventeen Seconds exist

I mean it´s alright
but The Head on the door is better desu

Album exists

Faith exists

There isn't one. You're right.
IN THE HANGING GAAAARDENS
it's too short

Tied up with Faith which I believe is superior
Obviously the 2 best Cure though

>Faith is better than Pornography
That's wrong whether you're talking about The Cure or not.

this

Three imaginary boys exists

Because The Smiths are better desu senpai

get out of here lad

The Top exists

being this contrarian

More like The Smithereens
>get wrecked

Typical as it is, there's a reason Disintegration is championed as their best. Prayers For Rain and the title track successfully recapture Pornography's angst but the album reaches so much further beyond that as a whole.

Faith also deserves a shoutout. It might be a stretch to say it's better than Pornography but it's damn near its equal. Their first truly great album and an unfairly underrated one IMO.

Wish

Speaking of which, are there any artists that sound like Faith? Specifically All Cats Are Grey?

I've been listening to that track almost non-stop for 3 days. Call for help.

It's the best if you feel like curling up into a ball and dying

nump

came to post this. the only flaw is that its too short

I feel like Seventeen Seconds isn't quite all there. It's cool when the ideas are fully formed but too much of it feels like rough sketches. Also a damn shame about The Final Sound, I wish they'd release a finished version of it.

>too much of it feels like rough sketches
it's definitely more barren and minimalistic than their really dense sounding stuff like pornography and disintegration, but that's actually what i like about it.

it's hard for me to argue about cure albums though because i honestly love everything they did up to wish

Yeah, and when it pans out like it does in Play For Today, In Your House, and A Forest it's great. I do think Faith is a more uniformly solid release in a similarly minimalistic vein, though. Definitely a bit more filled out but I feel it's still close enough to Seventeen Seconds' game to say it's basically Seventeen Seconds but better. But that's just me.
