I think Louis' is so great because he is better than anyone else at bringing out the human in both the participants and the viewers. By that I mean that he is able to expose the full spectrum of human emotions. His best work is not completely serious or wacky, it's in the middle. It's those documentaries which are a little serious, a little funny, a little tragic, a little heartwarming. Everyone's life is, in the end, a mixture of these.

It's huge. Just because relapses can happen doesn't mean each month isn't an achievement for a "proper addict". After My parents died I drank to excess every single day from the time I was 20 to the time I was 23. My first week sober was huge, my first month monumental. Went 2 years without touching a drop and hugely improved my life. Now I'm 27 and drink socially like a normal person.

Yeah I saw it. Never really found those ones to be all that interesting mostly due to notbeing familiar with Saville for most of my life.
