It's going to depend on which traditions you're most familiar with. The unconscious is superstitious, and reaching through the barrier requires suggestion. You have to be able to buy into the paradigm. Eventually you'll be able to keep the function while releasing the form, but for now it matters more that you're comfortable with the traditions to help forge the neural pathways you need. Even false schools can help with that as long as you're careful not to get caught in the window-dressing.

What I mean is that you live in a representational Universe. The world you experience is manufactured inside on an archetypal level from universal narratives. If you want to change the story you're experiencing, you can act on it either internally or externally, but you have much better leverage internally. Remember that the narratives which comprise what you recognize as reality occur on every level and at every scale. Those oppressive entities who rule the surface of the world also rule the surface of your own mind. In a very real sense they are you. It's why they're both so convincing and so dangerous. You don't need to look wider, you need to look deeper.

As says, in decades of diving, I have never reached the bottom. As near as I can tell there is none. Below the level of gods, I have begun experiencing incomprehensibly vast but vague entities I think of as proto-gods, entities which may predate humanity itself. How much deeper it goes, how much more primal these entities become, I can only guess. At some point beyond the depth of senses, I am guessing it will no longer be possible even to construct language to describe the experience.

The word "archetype" is somewhat confusing because it refers to two different things. It refers to the primal and universal symbol which all living things share, but it also refers to the manifestation of that symbol. The Anima manifests in many different aspects, including that of the Dark Mother: Lilitu, the Great Whore, Babalon. In answer to your question, yes, the Dark Mother can provide physical things, but they are of a different order than the sort of things the male side of the psyche provides. So the powers and principalities are given authority over temporal power, while the Dark Mother is more about creature comfort, about your existence as a thing of meat and need compared to the more abstract physicality of the male.
I don't think we're forced to learn. In fact, the Buddhists believe that it's possible to move in the other direction, to become so debased and removed from spirit that eventually your clay is simply crushed between the cogs of being after enough trips around the great wheel. There's a terrible beauty to freedom, of knowing that we choose whether to be, and that we can use the pages of our notebook to write sublime poetry or vile pornography or knock-knock jokes or rip out the pages and use it to wipe our ass or simply leave it completely blank and pristine.

You see, when you said Dark Mother earlier, I automatically referred back to when i was 16. I had gone through 10 traumatic years of sexual, mental, physical, and verbal abuse. i was finally taken out of the situation, and resided with my grandparents. That house will always be the place I go back to in my thoughts, because it's the only place I've ever felt 'safe'. Not even a month after being there, I began to have major panic attacks, and night terrors. That was when I began reading into Lucifer, and Lillith. I called to her one night, asking her to reveal all, and to help me through the PTSD. The next morning I woke up to pillows every which way on the floor, on my dresser, along with my blankets. It was an interesting experience, but I did not remember anything during that night after falling asleep.
When i was 14, I was ran out of the house after punching my step father in the face. I walked the dark road for a time, before becoming spooked, and going back home. The porch lights were on, and incredibly bright, so I decided to sit on a large slab of cement to the side, which was in total darkness. I was crying, and hugged my knees to my chest. At the time, I was reading up on theories of life, etc. and called out to god. There was no answer. So i began speaking to Lucifer, asking if he could help. Not even ten seconds after that, there were three distinct footsteps behind me. I have never experienced the feeling I experienced that night since. I was petrified, but not scared. Chilled really.
