Bump

Cocteau Twins' Garlands for Pornography

yeah it's pretty next level baroque pop

Dead Can Dance s/t for Pornography

Kind of in the same vein as television, Patti and her band were huge fans of TV before they released an album.

This and their debut
Mojave 3 and Bavarian Fruit Bread are not psych enough

...

Haven't heard a hip hop album quite like this

Yeah because that album is beyond shit. Music for people who listen to fucking atmosphere & the slug. gayest shit ever released in my life. fucking white boy faggot backpack geek rap for fucking nerds

...

Rodan - Rusty for Spiderland

...

June of 44, Rachel's , The For Carnation, A Minor Forest,

There's 1000 albums like this

specifically the last 2 songs. If you could even rec me 2 tracks that sound like those I'd be impressed

Nadja - When I See the Sun Always Shines On TV

youtube.com/watch?v=zTdq-tMkayo

Eipic45 - Weathering
It's not AS good as Laughing Stock (nothing really is) but it's got a good sound

youtube.com/watch?v=RObS8uPWYYo

...

>Spiderland
Rusty - Rodan

this, but not quiet

pls

Aside from the rest of their discography of course

Well Mazzy Stars other albums are exactly the same and just as amazing

The Sundays

...

sightings - through the panama
it's experimental, post-punk, the singer has an average voice(more personality in the sightings singer imo), and the guitar work on panama is just as weird as the instrumentals on di go pop. and it's darker. still, listen to that shit.

here's a sample

>Slint
June of 44 - Engine takes to the water is the closest I heard (music-wise)

What about this one?

For Pornography try Eagulls or Holograms

...

Richard Hell-Blank Generaition. He was bass guitarist of television and has similar style

Name 14

What the fuck does this have in common with Spiderland

...

wayyy not psych enough
well I singled out the first two because I love the drone songs

thats why I am posting this, to find one you idiot
prove me wrong

Who else is doing powerviolene like this?

Their other albums just didn't feel the same to me.

Bark Psychosis - Hex

Any recs like the Stooges - Fun house?

...

It's rock music dum dum

This is the better version of Laughing Stock

...

I've tried listening to other post-punk bands but none of them have that sort of romantic optimism that I get from Orange Juice
MC5 I guess

so next level it isn't even pop

Not even memeing, I haven't been able o find a single album that sounds like this except from a few songs from Ozmas "rock and roll pt.3".

leaves turn inside you is their slint album though

Fugazi - The Argument

Both bands had a pretty similar trajectory with their sound

I am very surprised this has not been posted yet.

...

I'm probably wrong but I need more albums like this

Anything else that resembles I Was a Landscape in Your Dream specifically?

Check out Wovenhand. They jump around different folk styles, but there's quite a few of these repetitive type tracks. Plus it's heavily influenced by the songwriter's Christianity.

Still waiting on this

>Im Argen
Mount Fuji Doomjazz Corporation - Succubus

Spires That in the Sunset Rise - Curse the Traced Bird

youtube.com/watch?v=ANnRLZQL0as

...

not even close, LS shits on it everyday, it's just too perfect
still a masterpiece tho

...

...

For real though: are there any artists/albums that sound like "All Cats Are Grey" on Faith? That song puts me into a trance.

I think literally any other mathrock album should suffice.

I've yet to find an album that I enjoy more.

MC5 is alright but they don't have that much in common with the stooges other than being from the same area/time period and considered proto-punk

Someone recommended me Brainiac and Bonsai Superstar was kinda close but I wasn't as big of a fan of Hissing Prigs
Maybe I need to listen to it again

This album always reminds me of Spirt of Eden by Talk Talk

Maybe for you, I find Laughing Stock's first three tracks to be amazing but the rest I don't love as much. Hex I love from front to back. I still love LS though. LS is 8/10 and Hex is 9/10 for me

a bit more modern in style but the same sort of ambition and ballsy-ness is definitely there

pixies my dude

>disintegration
Here's the album that tried to be as good.

>Disintegration
Listen to this

Remain in Light was heavily influenced by fela kuti. Apparently afrodisiac was the blue print for the entire album.

Brand New - The Devil and God are Raging Inside of Me

Unknown Pleasures should of been on this list.

Spilt milk - jellyfish
