This year has been very good for music, for me, at least. My AOTY so far is Peasant but DAMN, The OOZ, and Lotta Sea Lice have all been my favorite releases from their respective artists so far, and albums I really love too. I think The OOZ might get close to beating Peasant for me, if I still like it as much in a couple months

Saturation 1 easily best IMO

My personal AOTY is this
I enjoyed it anyway

>I know many fans were disappointed as they were expecting a sequel to TPAB, which Damn is not.
people were expecting something ambitious and a continuation of the artistic evolution which started with his debut album instead of basic top 40 bait with cheap beats and even cheaper collab picks

After the top two it isn't in any particular order

1. Damn.
2. A Tribute to Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers
3. Triplicate - Bob Dylan
4. Dark Matter - Randy Newman
5. Flower Boy - Tyler, the Creator
6. Hang - Foxygen
7. Outrage is Now - Death from Above
8. Flying Microtonal Banana - King Gizzard
9. The Laughing Apple - Yusuf
10. Steroids - Death Grips

This

what a shitty fucking year

American Dream
Masseduction
Slowdive
A Crow Looked at Me
Ty Segall
After Laughter
To the Bone
Crack Up
Murder of the Universe
Villains

This year was so so.

came here to say this

I mean there were a lot of albums I enjoyed, but not a ton I returned to.

Daily Reminder he's a Reddit fag. He got triggered by Jon Tron not apologizing for saying fag.

I think the main reason this has been such an eh year for music is that most artists release albums in cycles (once every 2-3 years), and so many fantastic artists' cycle all lined up on 2016 that it completely blew 2017 out of the water. In addition, the wild cards like Radiohead and the avalanches for example all dropped albums too, making it essentially the most stacked year for music releases of the 2010s, and debatably even the 2000s overall. And unfortunately, most of this years big hitters (st vincent, kendrick lamar, godspeed, etc.) dropped lackluster/inconsistent albums, and in the case of Kendrick Lamar, potentially out shadowed by an out-of-cycle b side collection. It's just a really unlucky year for music, especially compared to the fucking solar system aligning for 2016.

really enjoyed the ghost of hope, it's my favourite of their later output. New pyrrhon & yowie albums were also wild

never got around to listening to that karen gwyer record, might as well tonight

I think this year was pretty great, was hoping we'd get the new clarence clarity this year but it seems like that'll be later on

Insightful tripfag

These are also the ONLY albums I've heard so far from this year.
Nothing else has really interested me enough to make me want to hear it over shit in my backlog, which is extremely extensive.

Anything I should absolutely listen to that I haven't?

This is easily the worst AOTY thread i've seen all year.

...

You have nothing to contribute to this board, please go beg for spoonfeeding somewhere else

I'm hardly begging.

Simply asking others opinions.

As for the first part of your statement, that is purely subjective, and completely based on speculation as you have 0 knowledge of my past activity on this board.

>TL;DR - Who gives a fuck?

...

meme dememeco

1. Everything Everything - A Fever Dream
2. LCD Soundsystem - American Dream
3. Mac Demarco - This Old Dog
