Every single day thousands of immigrants cross legally into the US with a B1 or B2 visa , which is relatively easy to obtain, once in the US theres nothing stopping them to live and work illegally over there. The words sensible and amnesty do not go together. Sensible means enforcing immigration laws on the books currently. The word amnesty is an extreme left ideal that will simply never happen. Congress will do nothing with Amnesty or DACA (which was the reason Obama used Executive Orders to get it into law. Congress would NEVER have passed anything like it.)
Its also completely possibly to deport 10 million people, increase the budget for immigration courts to process the deportations and you would have it done inside 3 years.
