Dirt Rally is great. Wish it had more different stages though. Playing on a controller as well, its tricky as fuck. Definitely doable but so easy to fuck up.
It astounds me that people actually do this in real life on the limit. The margin for error is so tiny and so many little things can catch you out in a major way. I don't think I've yet to make it through a stage on my first try without crashing hard, probably should actually listen to some of those caution calls.
Swedish stages are by far the worst, so little grip and if you hit the snow bankings at all it basically fucks up your momentum and its hard to recover. Only put like maybe 5 hrs into this game so far though.

I have played 4 seasons of rally and 3 or 4 of rally cross
First season of rally I topped the division and I didn't think I was going fast at all I focused on being smooth not fast. Every season in the next division up I have failed pretty hard because they actually go fast and I think I am way too cautious of crashing taking more time than just going a bit (way) slower. I also took a while to figure put how the calls help me. In my latest season I finished 4th so I didn't progress.
My favourite rallys are the German and Monaco ones.
I can't imagine doing it in a real car, I would probably kill myself or be so slow I get dropped after the first stage.
Rally cross is just stupid. In my first season I let the other cars bully me too much and just about came last in every race. Then in the second season I focused on knocking one car out of every race and did way better. Then the season after that I guess my car caught up in upgrades and I finished just outside the positions that progress to the next division.
