Grateful Dead - Cornell 1977

Is this a good show to check out if I haven’t listened to the Grateful Dead before?

youtu.be/MvYvyybgphY
youtu.be/r-Gi_XGfdmY

Actually times have changed

This one is infinitely better than Deliquescence..

move aside kiddos

yes, that's what i started out with.

Hendrix at Monterey Pop Festival

Close, but no cigar.

fpbp god tier driving music

...

honestly the best live album I've ever listened too, and among Swans' best albums, including the studio ones.

its even better on vinyl friendo

...

Ok cool thanks I’ll check it out

have never seen this talked about on this board before but it's really good. not theatrical or anything but despite being a live album it has the best versions of any of the songs. way way better than the studio versions.

also anyone got a download link for it? i lost my cassette of it.

...

...

A band that's as good live as they are should have released a lot more live albums

No, they really haven't.

...

...

fuck i didnt even know this existed

and i never thought to look for bootlegs . . .

How the fuck has this not been posted?

Hold That Tiger by Sonic Youth is my personal favorite live album but Thee Oh Sees Live In San Francisco is a close second

No 98.12.28 yet? What?

No one mentioned Talking Heads?

kek
sorry, good taste

Came here to post this. Now all I got is it's bastard brother.
Still god-tier tho.

First day listening to Swans?

the smiths cover/hallelujah mash up it great

youtu.be/G9YMTJGkqTc

Everything ive heard by swans has been horrendous gash

This.
What the honest fuck is the appeal to serial-killer-core wank?

...

Trying too hard son

Agreed

You've been listening to the wrong albums, then. Personally I'm not a big fan of Swans are Dead, but you should give The Burning World, White Light from the Mouth of Infinity, Love of Life, and The Great Annihilator each a shot. Or better yet, just listen to Angels of Light instead.

You all should be ashamed that no one has mentioned this yet.

...

good one, honorable mention goes to 6/10/73 at JFK stadium. Over three hours long and features an encore jam with the Allman Brothers. Phenomenal show

as far as 'official'/contemporary releases go, not much beats Live Dead

It has the best versions of Your Property and You’re Not Real, Girl.

unironically two of the best swans albums

...

You should listen to some of their album stuff as well. Aoxomoxoa and Anthem of the Sun are both great

...

Hell yeah

Op here, I actually agree, I just posted deliquescence cause I was listening to it for the first time and loving it

Stand aside, David Live and Santa Monica plebs.

Man listen to 69/02/27 show instead. Its the Fillmore show that includes Dark Star St Stephen and Turn On. Includes one of the greatest Mountains of the Moon and that fuckin Prelude that sounds at the very beginning of Live/Dead.
One of the greatest shows

>not 101

...

imo i prefer the songs from sofad and like they admitted in the 101 film dave's vocals were a bit dry for his performance whilst in sofad live he sounds like a drugged up vocalgod

the fact that this hasn't been posted yet proves that Sup Forums no longer has taste

>Sup Forums no longer has taste
But I posted Uchoten, user:

mangione sucks dick

lol, this
I'm saving it for a special time. I saw them on tour so I know I already like the material.
