MOMMA HERE COMES MIDNIGHT

WITH THE DEAD MOON IN ITS JAAAAWWWWSSSS

It's extremely good

In hindsight it shouldn't surprise anyone that he killed himself

Sounds like Neil Young as recorded by Steve Albini.

Did he kill himself or just subcumb to a disease caused by excessive drinking?

Fuck listening to this album coming from an alcoholic family is tough

LONG DARK BLUUUUEEEES
LISTEN

From what I know he died of organ failure due to alcohol abuse.

doc about him recording josephine, worth a watch.

Josephine is underappreciated. Easily my favourite album of Molina's.

Which is technically killing yourself, just a lot more slowly.

This performance of Just Be Simple is better than the album version.

RIP Jason.

that final LISTEN is a literal 10/10 moment
got damn

Pic related is fucking brutal to listen to knowing that he didn't make it. I mean you've got to give so much respect for him continually preaching to keep trying but you have to admit that him failing to make it out just makes it all seem even more hopeless and bleak.

This album is way too sparse for me.

>release album with the same name as the next band you're in

when else has this happened

Who can forget "Let it Be Paul McCartney and Wings".

Mount Eerie

yeah agreed. as someone who's trying, it's really hard to listen to his music, but there's also really nothing else like it

Self-titled albums are really common my man.

This is one my favorite albums good taste OP

This version of Farewell Transmission is really good too.
Unfortunately no lead guitar though.

I'm spinning this right now dude

but he put out the album magnolia electric co. as songs: ohia

That was more based on the record label then anything. Pretty sure he wanted it to be a magnolia electric co album, but the record company wanted it to have the songs ohia name recognition.

A biography on Jason Molina came out this past year. It's definitely worth a read even if the book is expensive for what it is. (30 bucks for like a 300 page book, but it's definitely a good read)

One time I saw a dude at a party and we were chatting and he said "I saw you've been listening to a lot of Jason Molina" from seeing my last.fm, I confirmed it and he patted me on the shoulder and said "Be careful, bud"

It was meant to be a magnolia electric co. album, but somehow got in the songs:ohia catalog. I can't remember why
