My Bloody Valentine is the best shoegaze.
coughs are probably the best band in the whole world
Close, but no cigar. Try RIDE, son.
Check out Anya Davidson's second band. It has near none of Coughs' strangeness, but it makes up for that completely in sheer loudness along with Davidson's amazing vocals.
fuck i love her voice
this is pretty sick
like some the most excessive jump-the-fuck-up punk
is this shoegaze
youtube.com
ya
What came out this year? Drive and Slowdive had releases right?
in a good way though
heres some albums some people here think are good
youtube.com
>blackgaze j-pop
MBV was just a shitty catalyst for the genre
Fuck am I the only one that thought the new Airiel album was super disappointing?
>he didn't like Cloudburst
>he didn't like Keep You
>he didn't like Inside Out
>he didn't like the remake of Sharron Apple
Yes.
add
>he didn't like Song of You(not even the ending)
>he didn't like the fast paced closer The Painkillers
misleading cover
If I like these are some of my favorite shoegaze type songs
youtube.com
and most of that swirlies album
youtube.com
youtube.com
and idk if this is shoegaze
youtube.com
its probably not but what can you recommend me?
wtf its like Zs with Lydia Lunch singing. Where has this been all my life?
What is some shoegaze with RIFFS? I don't much care for 'lol distortion and you can't hear the vocals'.
Where's this band from, bucko?
when i first heard teenage jesus i thought it was like just coughs but not as good lol
Try

Or

This is a one off from this artist but maybe what you're looking for

Have you heard Blue Wonder Power Milk by Hooverphonic? Trip-Hop/Dream Pop more than Shoegaze.

those last two minutes are just pure bliss.I can't decide if I like more Inside Out or this one
Chicago.
shitty idea i don't want to be associated with shugazi betas
Yeah, but at least these threads don’t die off in an hour. I still prefer /anti/ over this though.
They're literally like the only shoegaze I can listen to and enjoy.
Fuck me in the ass this is so good
Like can't stop by the chili peppers if it broke down.
lmfao
This is excellent!

That's sick!
Bump
more like Against Perfection?
>>
not that user but thanks for this chart. Listening to shimaru rn and enjoying it
Why is no one using slide guitar in shoegaze?
Good idea
Doesn't the solo on Heaven or Las Vegas use slide guitar?
Why isn't this considered the best Radio Dept album? It's not as gaze-ey as the earlier ones,
but it's got no filler, and features their songwriting skillz at its peak.
>Why isn't this considered the best Radio Dept album?
I think plenty of people consider it the best. I've seen it posted here more than the other albums.
I need some shoegaze for the 4 beer come up
someone link me something good i already listened to medicine and mbv
It was their lowest rated on RYM until their recent album. Kinda makes me wonder if reviewers value style over substance
lesser matters is objectively better though
my nigga coming through with the solid come up album
How, though? I like the noisy elements on tracks like Keen On Boys and Against the Tide, but the track quality isn't as consistent as Clinging to a Scheme. None of those tracks overstay their welcome, either.
First, the amateur factor. Shoegaze is best experienced with lower quality and amateur vibes. This is why consistency isn't really better on Clinging to a Scheme.
Second, ratio of good to average/bad songs. Lesser Matters has way better songs individually than Clinging to a Scheme. I mean like 9/10 songs.
Third, variety. Probably because it being their first album. The songs maintain originality throughout the whole album. In Clinging to a Scheme, there are a lot of fillers that feel simply like variations of other songs.
i dont 4can much anymore but i'm glad these threads are still a thing, the dedication to this one genre is commendable and understandable. anyway i've been listening to m b v a LOT lately, almost every day for more than a week. i dont understand the hate it got when it came out, the cover art is good, is this and yes is good
>tfw ethereal wave is no longer on the list of /shugazi/ genres
well shit, where am I supposed to express my sudden love for dead can dance now?
you can it's fine
sweet
this song blew my mind it's fucking awesome
youtube.com
and then the album blew me away AGAIN here
youtube.com
and here
youtube.com
and then I listened to their s/t and dying sun and loved them both

>Shoegaze is best experienced with lower quality and amateur vibes.
Occasionally, sure. Doesn't explain why Loveless is a 10/10 god tier album though.
I like both Radio Dept. albums around the same, but those are some painfully subjective reasons for an album that is "objectively better".
i really like the vocals on this album
anyone got albums that have similar vocals or instrumentation?
is there any album/band thats like the pixies and shoegaze
saintmarierecords.com
anyone have a dl? can't find this anywhere
Nirvana
unironically cool
Fuck this was good.
Why super disappointing?
Used to listen the shit out of it 4-5 years ago. Love it.
I always get a nostalgic-bittersweet mood from Hartfield:
youtube.com
as someone who dislikes most nugaze, I like hartfield (vocals are too loud though).
This album is hauntingly beautiful. Blue skied an' clear gives me chills.
Here's an edit I made
i want to ____ the swirlies
see
NEW XO SINGLE:
youtube.com
I like it
Holy cow
...
sloy bloody valentine
kinda this
pia fraus is so gud lads
you chose the best track and one of the comfiest of the genre,
it brings you home even if you are in the other side of the planet
that track(and the whole album honestly) leaves no doubt that Slowdive is not only a superb shoegaze band but a great one in general
Love seeing Swirlies here, used to work for their label and they're good dudes
I like these guys, not AOTY but still decent
i saw swirlies
How much of a let down were they live?
I listened to it recently and didn't like it as much as I used to :(
only 2 out of 5 performers (adam and damon) were actually fun to watch but they were fun to watch so it's cool
noisy as fuck though blew my eardrums off
they even put tons of static over the soft songs
Haven't been on Sup Forums much since becoming a wagecuck a couple months ago.
Any new good flavors-of-the-month I should be aware of?
new Airiel
