When is the government going to wake up and realize we can't have a functioning economy if only a handful of people have all the money?

>only a handful of people have all the money

I know, it those fucking bastards with jobs!

max kek

>2018
>not studying STEM to get a real job
kek

>Still using meme bullshit propaganda as economic arguments
Wew to the stars, fags.

Stem was created by cis males to illigitimize the proletariat

Y u so mad?

You're the dumbest quasi-person on the planet.

Sorry you work at starbucks

maybe we should sit in the streets and have a good cry! that will show the 1%

We need to setup universal income. Advances in technology have resulted in a world in which we do not need, nor should we want, full employment.

Find a new job? Better yet, get a new profession.

It's pretty easy to go on ziprecruiter or indeed and search for beginner jobs. A lot of places will train you and pay you at the same time. I worked at 3 jobs in 2017 because when I asked for a raise they didn't give it to me, so I left and asked for more money at the new job.

I remember being a filthy neet just like you. A liberal blaming society and begging for socialism. Then I realised all of that shit is a pipe dream, got a shitty job, moved out, roughed it for a year, got a better job, made it easier for me, got a gf to move in, made it even easier, got an even better job, etc etc. You have to start somewhere, and blaming corporations isn't going to get you anywhere.

>Because the people who make and moniter these systems do it for free

No. You need to get a job.

And of course you'd be one of the people who was given free money without having to actually work right?

>rather sit on your ass all day, get fat and let the government control your life

no bro. men aren't wired like that. watch some jordan peterson youtu.be/-5RCmu-HuTg?t=3m25s

socialism is a total meme.

>too retarded to understand math and science

Triggered

The problem isn't automation. I mean it is--it's difficult when you have to retrain every few years instead of using the same set of tools for your whole life. But I'd argue the change before us is on a similar scale to the agricultural revolution.

The root problem is that our system creates a vast surplus of useless people. People who can barely read English, or show up at a given place at a given time. Some of them get government makework jobs, the really hopeless get a spot in the projects, or maybe jail if they don't stay docile. There's more of these people every year, and they would rather eat you and your kids than starve.

>tell you you're a lazy pleb
>AHAHAHHAHAHHA YOU'RE TRIGGERD

get a job

>When is the government going to wake up
You don't seem to understand that the goverment already works for the ultra-wealthy. What's happening isn't an accident, it's the plan.

And as long as people believe "the government" is out to "help" the people - instead of sell them like Perdue sells chickens - all these problems will keep getting worse.

Dumb illiterate commie.

dark stores.
it's a concept that isn't going to work in the long run.

when people realize that there are reasons why people "shop" for items like clothing and luxury goods it'll all come unraveled

you think i'm going to buy a tv and/or sound system without seeing and hearing them in real life, buy a suit or dress without trying them on first, or buy any item with a price tag of more than 2 bucks without physically handling and examining them then delusion has taken over the corporate world.

and have you ever tried to return something you bought on-line for service or warranty repair? next.to.impossible.and.very.expensive.

lol wut

>if I call them triggered I don't have to actually have an argument!

So what you're saying is that all the people loosing manufacturing jobs, retail jobs, labor jobs, McJobs, all these people just need to go into STEM (which everyone can pause their life and commitments for years to do since it's free and pays for housing and expenses for everyone that asks for it) and that can eventually support 100 million or more jobs? That we can employ an entire country on it? You're clearly not in a STEM field because you lack the most basic mathematical comprehension. Please, tell me more about this magical world.

>When is the government going to wake up and realize we can't have a functioning economy if only a handful of people have all the money?
as soon as people stop letting them live. the only way the billionaires are going to let go of their stranglehold is if we take it from them.

What is wrong with our economy?

Doing great under Trump. I'm get 53$ more a paycheck.

Also this isn't taking away jobs. Its just moving them. For every less Wal Mart or $GroceryStore there are more jobs going to online retailers like Amazon. People need shit like batteries, paper towel, TP, food. They always will. All that is happening is they are moving the jobs. Like anything else in capitalism, as technology evolves and lifestyle changes, the masses catch up. Would you be bitching everyone was stopping farming during the industrial revolution?

For this we'll need fully automated food production and close to zero electricity production cost.

Stop getting trolled by a commie LARPer boys.

Here's an economic system for OP: Your mommy lives forever. Your mommy is made immortal and can give you chicken tendeez until you die, you lazy manchild.

I buy my shoes online now. Never thought it would happen. In 2008, I was afraid to type my credit card info into a checkout page.

If they can deliver the necessities of life at a greater profit margin, they'll do well. (We'll be paying about the same prices--any savings from the labor cuts will go to the executives and shareholders).

Luxury goods and the like are a different matter. If you're willing to pay $2,000 for a coat, the expense of having a pretty girl ring up the sale is negligible. If it were legal, they'd have her give you a complimentary blowjob while you shop.

The only jobs that are getting lost are cashier jobs, and there will still be some customer service people at the stores most likely. There will still be trucks that need unloaded, items that need stocked, planograms that need set.

Yes.

As technology continues to grow and our lives continue to be improved by it--more jobs will go into IT, Engineering, and Science related fields. You can either get busy getting on board...or fall by the wayside and whine like a little bitch. Boo fucking Hoo I don't have a cashier at McDonalds now and I have a kiosk. If the Kiosk fucks up I only have myself to blame for asking for no lettuce

>even noticing $53
>gee golly trump thanks alot now i can et more macdonalds today!

>Majority of people are retarded
>Automate all the jobs they can actually do
>Get dragged out into the street and murdered because the majority of your population is poor and hungry

>people who by definition lack the skills to participate in the economy seize ownership of the complex operations of a modern corporation
>can't understand why the money is now worthless
>can't understand why the resources of the corporation no longer generate wealth

This is literally the story of most post colonial states. Bunch of dummies think they can steal everything and "spread the wealth around". Then they discover that time after time, capital in the hands of incompetents is worse than worthless.

I hate Trump. But to pretend the economy isn't functioning is retarded.

>Whine like a little bitch
You mean riot and kill people.

You really think that when a chain is run out of business by Amazon, leaving, say, 500 people jobless, Amazon opens up 500 comparably paying jobs? Wow. Shit just doesn't work that way, kiddo. They kill 500 jobs, add maybe 10 jobs that almost none of those people can qualify for, and move on. I'm not saying online businesses are absolute evil. Just that you can't think that employment at jobs that pay a living wage are preserved somehow. They're shrinking. The only reason unemployment numbers look good is people who used to support families are now working shitty McJobs. There's a tipping point where there just won't be enough meaningful jobs left that can support people. If you can't see that coming then you're blind.

Your obvious trolling is retarded

OK. Here's my argument. Millions of professional drivers and cashiers - just to name the most obvious industries - will become unnecessary, replaced by emerging technologies in just a few years.

How do you want to handle that without falling into the same hollow argument about retraining that politicians spout when confronted with this problem?

>When is the government going to wake up and realize we can't have a functioning economy if only a handful of people have all the money?
1. Get Trump out of office
2. Get the Republicans out of Congress
3. Ask your question then

>I had an argument
still triggered af

To think the recovery / expansion just started is infinitely more retarted stupid fucking cuck

>muh jerbs
Working class deserves to starve

I think you missed the point of that post, kid.

Did didn't address the numerical impossibility of those fields supporting the number of people who are loosing jobs. That's the issue. Not the effort, not the willingness. There just isn't room in those fields to support them number fo jobs being killed. It won't ever support the whole population. That's what i want to hear, how you think you can have a nation of STEM workers. Where are they all working? STEM doesn't need even a tenth of that number and even that's being generous.

>Obvious trolling
Tell me, what happens when the majority of people are out of work and hungry?

Obama wasn't even fucking "radical"
the WSJ = total retards

you are among a growing segment of society that realizes that the rich have forgotten the lessons of the past. are in fact repeating them.

the rich are going to do themselves in through their own greed and ignorance of the lower classes.
the powerful are going to be done in at the hands of the rich and vice-versa.

focus on being prepared for that to happen, the social chaos that follows will once again rewrite the rules of society. you will have to fend for yourself for a while after that.

although you may not live long enough to see it happen.

The economy is stronger than it's ever been you jackoff nigger faggot

Yes tell us more about how only cashiers are getting replaced when driverless card are on the roads and crawlers cargo ships are operating in the seas.

The world's first crewless cargo ship will launch next year - The Verge
The Verge first-autonomous-s...

*cars
**crewless

LOL economic illiterates ITT

If you love jobs so much, you must reject ALL forms of technology. Don't use the internet, hire a man to drive your messages across the world

But wait, cars ruin the horse market. Get a guy on a horse to do it instead. That way horse breeders and feed producers will have jobs.

Fuck, I just realized horses kinda fuck up the market for people who deliver on foot. Hire a few hundred people to deliver your letter.

Shit, a letter? It would be much better for teh economy if you paid someone to memorize it instead. Paper and pen ruin the story-telling market.

A shovel replaces 5 good men digging with their hands.

To hold "employment" as the basis for success in an economy, you must reject all forms of technology. Technology, by definition, makes work easier, thus reduces the need for employment.

ever hear of short term gains? they are rarely profitable in the long run.

and the economic fallout will follow.

That's a question, not an argument, but fine I'll humor you.
>replaced by emerging technologies in just a few years

>this has literally never happened before in human history
What happened to travel agents when travel websites came around? What happened to typists when personal computers came around? What happened to knocker-uppers (people whose job it was to wake people in the morning) when alarm clocks came around?
When technology renders jobs obsolete, those people don't just go out of work, they find new jobs.

The real question is, when are we going to wake up and realize the answer is to remove money entirely? This insecurity that we cant come up with a better way is wrong.

Here's the thing. By all means money is a terrible idea and here's why. Despite all of our best financial professionals in the world, the best we could do is a system that puts a nation into trillions of dollars of debt while keeping millions of people and entire countries in poverty. Money IS the reason why we have third world countries. If money was gone and we created a system where anybody can have nearly anything they want since money is no object anymore, every single country would become first world. We would be able to build amazing homes for everyone in africa and turn africa into a 1st world amazing country. Our science would speed up dramatically. We can find better incentives to have people work. We can create a society where there isn't a shortage of good looking homes and neighborhoods. Once money is gone we can find a way to give everyone at the very least a nice home to stay in.

I'm not trying to say exactly what the replacement is. All i'm saying is that it is definitely possible for us to remove money and replace it with something that allows every single person to live in a nice house that would be in a million dollar neighborhood. You should NOT have to pay for a house and the basic means to stay alive. The means to stay alive and live comfortably with things provided to you in reason of whats available should be given for free. That should all be given to you for free. You shouldn't have to pay for medicine or gas for your car or a house. It's an ass backwards way of living that needs to go.

Hundreds of years of technological innovation have made the economy worse? Holy fuck I'm gunna need a source on that.

protip: sarcasm will be taken seriously here at Sup Forums

>will
The majority of people won't be out of work, because they are not retarded like you.

>we created a system where anybody can have nearly anything they want
You are describing literally a fantasy universe. This will never happen unless we hit post-scarcity levels of technology.

>No money
>Hey Tim, I want some milk
>Okay, what will you give me for my milk?
>Uhh, I have some wheat there that I've farmed
>No thanks, I don't want wheat

If only there was some medium of exchange that would solve this double coincidence of wants?
thoughtco.com/the-double-coincidence-of-wants-defintion-1147998

>when are we going to wake up and realize the answer is to remove money entirely
when your bank account has 60K in it?

Do you even know the thrill that comes with that knowledge? With that existence?

part of it will divy up. I didn't say all STEM workers necessarily. But there will be more people in medical, more people to support the robotic automation in IT and engineering, and more finance jobs to sort all this shit out. Additionally, the US infrastructure is crumbling--more people will get into the trades, not just painting and carpentry...but literally rebuilding all the phone lines, construction, architecture, etc. This is a common false fear plugged into college students brains by liberal professors. Do some research kiddo

They'll become technicians for those technologies. Self driving trucks still require someone at the wheel to correct in case of emergencies. And the current work force will need to be trained in how to diagnose and fix problems with the systems.

"post scarcity" is a meme lazy Marxist fucks think they can excuse their own lack of drive, and it needs to end.

As a former Team Leader of high volume Whole Foods Front End Teams in the Pacific North West region, you can teach pretty much anyone how to cashier and those are mostly useless jobs if you figure out a technologically better way for the customer to buy shit.

At one point, I literally had two women with down syndrome as cashier assistants or baggers and three highly autistic cashiers on my team and I couldn't get rid of them for various reasons. If I could have replaced them with efficient technology to gain a raise, I would have in a heartbeat.

>given for free
I love when people who have absolutely no understand of economics talk as if they know anything.

You have to have had everything given to you by your parents to believe this shit.

That's an illusion based on unemployment numbers (which count a guy flipping burgers part time as equally employed to someone supporting a family with a well paying job), Wall Street success which benefits the upper 10% of people because shit never trickles down, total economic growth with no regard to how all the growth is going to those who are already wealthy. This isn't some commie Che Guevara bullshit notion. This is simple and plain to anyone willing to open an eye to it. This path we're is not sustainable and ends in dark ages wealth inequality. The middle class is dying. The majority of workers will never make the transition and even if they did there wouldn't be enough of those jobs to accommodate a fraction of them. Also, these are paycheck to paycheck people for the most part. Who is retraining them? Oh wait, they have to figure that out themselves. You don't have to be one of them to know that it's a problem that isn't going away.

Greed of a few will topple the entire system. Has happened countless times before, is happening right now, and will happen again and again. It’s not rocket science to notice trends.

Sounds like Whole Foods needs to unionize. Hard.

>object not working
>call 'zon
>"tomorrow you will get a new one, please repack the broken one and give it back to the postman"

what else

>The real question is, when are we going to wake up and realize the answer is to remove money entirely?
stopped reading after this. Confirmed retard. Good luck in your endeavors to convince people to hate money. While you're at it I hope you convince yourself to hate air.

why should i give you money to live. -if you try to save everyone end up saving no one-as long your happy right nigger?

>Wow, looks like Amazon will make shopping easier so people can shift their productive efforts to other areas of the economy

>complains about multi national companys

>shitposts with Microsoft. .................

congratulations. you've discovered the ultimate goal of capitalism.

>muh minimuu wagecuck retail job was replaced by automation

Good. Now you have time to actually contribute to society you fucking degenerate loser.

t.reddit

If you losing your crappy minimum wage job is what it takes for me to be able to buy my daily 3ltr of mountain dew and doritos without having to make eye contact or interract with another human being in any way, then so be it.

Fuck you, wageslaves.

lol

very few people are capable of going into a store and buying things without having the staff there do all their thinking for them

"do you have that thing you had last week"
"do you have any of that chocolate i saw on TV"
etc

with almost no humans in the retail outlet, customers will get lost inside and die of starvation

this amazon go thing will appeal to a tiny minority of consumers while it lasts, before the novelty wears off

Sort of.
You see they still hire people, they just have them in different places in the store. The store is not autonomous
Its designed so you dont see anyone working there.
You can still get a job there

>team leader
>generic company hierarchy buzzwords

You had the same job anyone who cashiers at Walmart can have if they stick it up for six months and I doubt you had any authority or power to hire or fire anyone. Quit pretending your shitty little retail job was more than it was. saying yes or no to their bathroom break requests doesn’t make you a manager you fucking faggot.

and you know pepole who say this bullshit yet you still try to help them awhile they are destroying your chance to live.

sounds like a trump agenda.
well stated at that.

but are you aware that one third of the worlds population still operates at the level you describe and deride? of the other two thirds half live in economic systems that benefit the rulers of those countries while the general population lives in abject poverty, and the other half has no idea that their castles are built on foundations of blood and slavery.

do you call that progress? because this is the world that technology has made. where do you think you stand in the face of that?

None of what you stated comes close to re-employing the people who are loosing jobs. People ITT keep mentioning other jobs and industries that vanished before. The issue isn't the concept of adapting to the new jobs available. The issue is the rate at which it's happening and the fact that the market isn't replacing more than a fraction of those jobs with new ones they can train for. It's the Lucy at the candy factory problem. You can't handle it after it accelerates to a certain point.

Or just get a real job, in a needed field, not a bagger at a god damn grocery store, try adulting

>wow. Looks like were progressing as we have for 12,000 years and we'll inevitably adapt system and prosper.

Fixed it. Oh however did wr survive when 50 percent of the american work force were farmers and it dwindled to 2% because of technological advancements.

However did we possibly find new jobs and solutions no one at the time could have imagined.. Were doomed DOOMED!!

>because this is the world that technology has made

...he said, posting on a computer in a house with electricity and running water and heat.

pretty sure amazon sells hundreds of thousands of different products made by hundreds of thousands of different manufacturers - ie lots of people are making money not just amazon.

also,
forbes.com/forbes/welcome/?toURL=https://www.forbes.com/sites/jeffreydorfman/2016/05/15/robots-may-take-some-jobs-but-we-will-create-new-ones/&refURL=https://www.google.ca/&referrer=https://www.google.ca/

same exact idiots were screaming about losing their jobs as farm hands 200 years ago, did the world collapse? don't think so

>cucks

Why won't the majority of people be out of work? You really think they'll be enough STEM jobs to go around or that they'll even be able to get into them? You're living in a dream world, kid.

lol

THEY TOOK OUR JERBS!!!

BURN THE MACHINES!!!

>if you can't see this big theoretical bullshit fielded by communist philosophers then you're blind

The industrial revolution that was supposedly going to reduce the need for manual labor didn't displace workers, it made them more efficient and safer, ofc at the cost of needing to educate the working class in reading and writing as a standard of education.

Jobs will never stop existing. Today's programmers will eventually go the way of the scribe, your supposed long term vision is really just short sighted application of today's principles to a wildly different future.

Won't happen as the entire company is anti-union and it is literally in the General Information Guide (GiG book) that you can get fired for trying to incite a unionization.

Next time you shop at a Whole Foods, remember that an average hourly worker makes ~$12.50 an hour not including leadership pay. Everyone in the store except Store Leadership makes an hourly wage.

No, I actually worked at Regional level for a long time as well as higher tiered store level jobs along the way, so I didn't have the same job as anyone who cashiers at Walmart you double faggot, nor does a cashier job at Walmart equate to a WFM cashier job in terms of average pay or benefits. Stop posting on things you know nothing about.

link for pic related pls

can people stop defending shit jobs?

if your goal in life is to work on a checkout line go fuck yourself, planet is full

well to answer your question if you are implying there will be a bunch of poor angry scum fucks walking around that could potentially revolutionize or start riots--naturally there will also be more cops.

Hey OP have you heard of blockchain?
it will change the world they say
hurry up and get into the ponzi early so that you can hedge against this imbalance of wealth

Sure bud, whatever you say. I’ll bet you’re cleaning toilets at a sex shop after hours and you tell people you “needed a career change” and are now in the “custodial arts” field. What a fuckin dipshit.

Yay, everyone can go work themselves to death for shit pay at Amazon to enrich the wealthiest man in the history of the world!

Look up UBI.
