ITT: Nepotism core

Is there an industry more plagued by nepotism than film and TV? It's insane how many actors and actresses were born into it through family or ((connections)) of some kind

It actually angers me and takes me out of watching movies/TV as I have so much hatred and envy for these people, am I autistic?

>am I autistic?
You're on Sup Forums, do you really need to ask?

Bryce is pretty great though, she's become successful in her own right.

Also this

>really want to pump her full of cum
>carries the same genes as todd and clint howard

Would be interesting to see how much better Hollywood would be if it were a meritocracy

But yeah, you're definitely autistic, if only for the fact that you're aware of the family connections of celebrities

Nepotism has always been a thing and there is really nothing you can about it really.

It should only really anger you if you are actor yourself or something.

Has Bryce ever appeared in one of Ron's films?

>Would be interesting to see how much better Hollywood would be if it were a meritocracy

The Mara sisters wouldn't have careers

that's the risk you take with gingers

you'll have beautiful red headed daughters who will grow up daddy issues and be great in bed

and ugly school shooter types

not any of his hollywood productions

I disagree, not very impressive at all. But regardless, she would almost certainly not be successful if it weren't for the family she was born into; people with her level of talent and looks are a dime a dozen.

At least her case isn't like 90 percent of Hollywood nepotism which consists of Jews scratching each others backs non stop. She actually has talent and is gorgeous and not some slimy Hebe.

Absolutely. It's only transparent in the film industry.

It used to be taken as read that a son would grow up to do the same work as his father.

It's funny how the 'They're inherit nothing from me so they can earn it themselves' meme has grown up in the last 60+ years.

Except for Jews ofc.

>Is there an industry more plagued by nepotism than film and TV?
hell no. these are only the most visual ones, and i don't mean because you watch them on screens. nepotism exists in EVERY SINGLE INDUSTRY, from politics and military to oil and manufacturing, farming, and law enforcement. if you hate nepotism, it's because you've been stung by it or come from a shitty family.

She's purdy

Shes not terrible but I don't think shes good either.

If it wasn't for her family she probably be stuck on a who-tier sticom.

Hey guys what's up :)

TV isn't the same as film, nobody watches TV for the acting.

I am not an actor but of course like most people people I'd love to be one given the chance and it sucks knowing that if I was born into the right family it would go from lottery winning odds to a reasonable thing to pursue

It's really depressing if it's actually this prevalent elsewhere. Anyone who values a society based on merit and hard work should hate nepotism, not just those who have been stung by it or come from a 'shitty' (normal) family.

>people with her looks and talent are a dime a dozen

>my opinion is literally fact

Kate Mara
Rooney Mara
Nicola Peltz
Taylor Swift

Any other famous examples of people making it big in entertainment purely because of rich/influential parents?

another word for nepotism is genetics

just accept your inferiority

You don't actually want everything to be based on merit. Everything would very quickly become an authoritarian dystopia where you have no privacy and are disqualified from basic parts of your life for the smallest slights.

Tell me all the things you want to do

Depp's daughter has no place acting. She is awful.

I'm okay with nepotism as long as the actor/actress is good.
When I see Eastwood's son or Smith's weirdo son act, it's unbearable and a shame to acting.

Look at the likes of Keith Carridine or Josh Brolin. Great actors so it's not bad.

i think you're trying to fit a square peg in a round hole, mate. quit attempting to view "society" an an objective entity and "merit" as anything but the yardstick by which those that don't have strive to obtain what those that do have, well, have. whether that's depressing depends on your perspective, doesn't it? it's the way the world is and always has been.

I agree with on the chance of being a actor but you have to realize that now a days most up and coming actors have connections.

I'm sure there are some actors with just working class parents though.

Would I rather be ruled by people who are good at what they do and worked hard or by people who were born into it? Not a hard decision user.

What's wrong with Todd Howard?

You fail to see that the laziness of nepotism is what enables everyone to at least occasionally be lazy.

I'm not gonna judge Lily rose 'acting' until I see planetarium(Yoga hoser doesn't count everyone was god awful in that)

Apparently from the interviews I saw Portman says she pretty good and has potential to be a great actress.

This could be the true or maybe Portman just banging lily rose so much she not in right of mind to judge that girl 'acting'

shit i meant ron howard lmao

i want to _____ bryce

>Smith's weirdo son

He's decent in that Hip-Hop show on Netflix...but everything else...yeah he's pretty shit. I think when it comes to "actors" and "actresses" like them...they can only play niche roles. Like him playing that weirdo faggot role on the Hip-Hop show is perfection. Kinda like how Jason Statham playing the bald quiet guy that kicks ass in EVERY SINGLE FUCKING MOVIE...put him in a lead role in a movie like Concussion or something and it would just be an absolute joke.

The problem is people don't see this because MOMMY AND DADDY HAS CONNECTIONS. And mommy and daddy's little girl/boy HAS to be the star. So they get thrown into these roles they have no business in. It's sad but after enough shit reviews they'll finally tell them to fuck off.

I just wish the music industry was the same way, then maybe Miley Cyrus would fuck off and stop making music. Take a hint, Rebecca Black and Kesha were able to take a hint, just fuck off Miley. I'd rather see her take dick to hear her open her mouth to speak or sing again.

did i rewind the part where she took her top off in black mirror?

YES I DID

>i'm not married to BDH in this timeline

jdimsa ( ._.)

It's even worse in England. Most of them are privileged private school kids with connections to the business.

>"I am a product of nepotism,I don't think I would have had the profession that I'm in currently ... if it wasn't for my dad.”

Nepotism exists in every field. It's not like most big stars in Hollywood "earned it" anyway since the casting couch is a huge part of how stars become prominent.

Nepotism is completely fine because it happens in literally every facet of our lives.

Just because some people are luckier than others doesn't make it bad.

Are you a fucking communist or something?

In this picture she reminds me of a teacher I had in high school. Fuck she was beautiful.

>she's become successful in her own right.
Without the opportunity given to her through nepotism though she might never have had the chance.Think of how many aspiring actors out there never get their chance, ever. It doesn't matter how great an actor they are because they never get cast, they never have the opportunity to demonstrate it. With nepotism that's not an issue, it's a huge leg up even for someone who's genuinely talented.

>tfw kind of liking dirk gently

>if you hate nepotism, it's because you've been stung by it or come from a shitty family.
Or maybe it's because they want people to be able to succeed based on their own merits rather then what vagina they fell out of?

Your assumptions are all backwards. Nepotism IS the attempt to further acheivements based on merit. Someone has to attain power to even practice it.

>this entire post
Literally what in the fuck are you talking about.

>Without the opportunity given to her through nepotism though she might never have had the chance.Think of how many aspiring actors out there never get their chance, ever.

If this even remotely bothers you, you should be much up in arms about the fact that virtually every actress relevant actress over the age of 18 fucked a major producer/director/exec at some point to get to where they are.

Nigger she was in plays before she did movies. She even tried to go by the name Bryce Dallas and only changed it because thought it sounded like a porn star name. M. Night Shayamalan saw her in a play and was impressed enough to offer her a role in The Village, her first film role

and he's still a top 10 actor

Jeff Bridges is GOAT tho

You only say that because it's not that well known that he's the son of an actor. A lot of people know BDH is Ron Howard's daughter. Even if you told people who Bridge's father was, it wouldn't matter because they don't even know who Lloyd Bridges is, whereas Ron is a famous director.

Literally everything that's upper middle class or higher. Academia, politics, any actual positions where you don't have to work 24/7. Then you have high paid middle/lower middle class positions such as law enforcement, garbage collection, having a bakery or a kebab stand, etc.

Most office jobs and low/mid-tier government office jobs are affirmative action hires nowadays, if you count that as nepotism.

Then you have highly sought after no-requirements-needed jobs such as fast food, where you have to know someone working there.

Oh and also anything related to being self-employed or an entrepreneur, where nepotism is mostly about the opportunities presented to you such as financing, loans, connections needed for it to succeed, etc.

>((connections))

Is this some meem I'm not aware of?

>Is there an industry more plagued by nepotism than film and TV?
Politics and banking spring to mind

>undderated poast

no I said that because Jeff Bridges is a good actor. I wasn't railing on BDH either. Benefitting from nepotism and being a good actor aren't mutually exclusive.
