The new info about Trump University does not look good. And it's all tied to Mr. Trump, because this was a profit center for him, unlike deals where he licensed his name.

Nothing, really. A Jew who used to work for Trump University revealed "shocking" information about Trump University's sale tactics: commission-based sellers aggressively try to sell Trump's product. Apparently the Jew has ties to Glenn Beck and Never Trump. Until the past few months I had only heard great things about Trump University; they're grasping for straws, anything to attack Trump with.
Owen Perry
>Someone mansplain what's going on to me.
as revealed by unsealed court documents released Tuesday, it was something that more resembled the way timeshares are sold — get people in the door and persuade them to buy for as much as possible.
Sworn testimony from a former Trump U. manager said he believed it was a "fraudulent scheme" that "preyed upon the elderly and uneducated to separate them from their money."
The idea was to get "buyers" in the door for a 90-minute seminar, where Trump U. sales associates used high-pressure tactics to try and get prospects to shell out as much as they could — $1,500 for a three-day event, then anywhere from $10,000 to $35,000 for bronze, silver and gold packages.
and it wasn't a university in any sense, so they had to change the name. it was a fraud from the get-go.

Its a scummy practice but it's far from fraud. A fool and their money are easily parted. There's no doubt there's fine print in the program that says 'no guarantee of success' or some shit like that. With the lawyers he can afford there's simply no way that there isn't. Frankly I'm surprised people still go for these since TV shows demonize them as scams whenever depicted.

All Donald Trump is guilty of is being ahead of the curve. He realized he could sell information that wouldn't get you a job for $20,000 well before the universities started charging that much.
Hunter Adams
I like how before anything at all came out that could possibly be considered dirt, Clinton was already attacking them for promoting "buying on a low and selling on a high" the most basic fucking concept of real estate and many other trades.
Christopher James
>Aggressive sales and broken promises.
The takeaway is that his entire campaign for president is likely more of the same bullshit. Unfortunately, the same sort of people who will borrow $35 thousand dollars and give it to Trump so they can get rich are the same sort who are at his rallies chanting "make america great again".
Grayson Jenkins
It's worse.
You pay taxes to pay high school counselors to peddle that lie. It's not just academic, it's systemic.
Eli Davis
The only considerable promises he's made are a 10 billion dollar construction project and something that could be done by executive order.
The tactics are hardly comparable. He's promised the least out of all the existing candidates, and has promised things he can actually do as a president without congressional approval.
Adrian Clark
And where did he lie? "Handpick" and "mentor" are not legally-defined terms. Nothing Trump said was a lie.
William Hall
Sweet fallacy, my man.
Adam Morris

Lincoln Foster
>has promised things he can actually do
you're missing the point. In his promotions for his University, he promised things that he could conceivably do, but when you look at the materials given to his staff, it was just a ruse to extract as much money from the "students" as possible. his promises during his campaign could evaporate the same way. how many times has he said "oh golly gee I was joking about that! who took it seriously?"
Gabriel Edwards
Wow this sure is gonna save hillary from being indicted.
Landon Williams
NPR is basically dead to me. They bring on editors from huffpo and buzzfeed all the time to talk about their irrelevant SJW matters. What a load of crock it's becoming. And they're always bashing Trump and never have pro-Trump guests on.
Jack Young
>whitey why u try and say i iz not scientistist? :( :( :(
Gabriel Gutierrez
>it was just a ruse to extract as much money from the "students" as possible
No, the only one calling it is a ruse are you, some butthurt morons, and Trump's political opponents. The materials given to his staff included sales tactics and nothing more. A service was provided for money, it's not like people received nothing for the cash they decided to pay. A scam would entail that the ones "falling for it" received nothing at all. They received a service and it didn't meet their wildly unrealistic and delusional expectations. It's not Trump U's fault that it attracted incompetent people.
Adrian Reyes
Y-you don't understand, Trump used AGGRESSIVE sales tactics and even FORCIBLY ASKED PEOPLE who couldn't afford it to empty their bank accounts / take out mortgages to pay for classes.
PURE RUSE
Eli Roberts
>It's not Trump U's fault that it attracted incompetent people.
but that's exactly what it tried to do. read the manual for his sales staff, uhh, i mean instructors. they were to identify those who could be upsold from 10k to 20k or 30k, with no attention at all being paid to whether or not the "student" showed any intelligence or ability to learn the real estate market.
it's not illegal to separate a fool and his money, but at least admit that that's all this scam ever was.
Carter Phillips
>they were to identify those who could be upsold from 10k to 20k or 30k
you mean they were supposed to look for ways to make more money? gosh how surprising
>with no attention at all being paid to whether or not the "student" showed any intelligence or ability to learn the real estate market.
emphasis yours. nowhere in the materials does it say "heh look out for the retards especially and gouge them." They only mention that the salesmen should try to upsell when they can, which is not at all abnormal
Nathaniel Ross
>people trying to get "educated" lose money
And this is different from "real" higher education how?
Brandon Lewis
>they were to identify those who could be upsold from 10k to 20k or 30k

Benjamin Miller
>even McShit tries to up sell you at the drive through
at least you get something for your money at mcdonalds. that's the whole point that the trump shills are glossing over. as I said, it's fine to separate a fool or an elderly person from their money, just don't pretend you are actually selling them something of value.
Wyatt Hernandez

Andrew Carter
That's not illegal nor is it their responsibility to seek out those who have the mental capacity and strength or character to succeed, it is their responsibility to make sales, and if people are willing to pay more for the same product why not convince them to? You ever been to a car dealership or furniture store? Did they every try to upsell you and not look to ensure you had the mental capacity or strength of character to pay that shit and not default?
It's like out of every sales and marketing type of career possible, you deem the only one to have any moral responsibility to be trump university and it's directly making Donald Trump responsible for the intestinal fortitude of his consumer... Go back to the USSR you fucking cuck
Julian Robinson
there are no arguments
David Bennett

I haven't seen anything from the Trump campaign on this. All I have seen is negative attacks from the left but that's the story of this whole race so I'm not going to rush to judgement.
I think those of us who don't live under a rock can agree that there are definitely shady companies out there who's business model is to just take as much money as they can from a person using deceptive measures.
I also spent a short amount of time working in real estate and I can tell you there are lots of companies out there pushing their methods to new agents as well as seminars from so called 'gurus'. most of it is all horse shit but that being said I've never heard of anyone charging $35,000 for a course.
I will say this though, these people were looking to be entrepreneurs and that means taking risks, with your own money and with others. If these guys got taken for a ride by a salesman that is unfortunate but that is also part of the real world, better to lean the lesson with a few grand than with a 6 figure business venture that you never recover from.
I can also tell you from my own personal life experiences working for a company that is in the middle of multiple lawsuits, which I've done depositions for that there are many people out there looking for a hand out and free ride and they will exaggerate, misrepresent, lie, and blame blame blame whoever they can and try to suck successful people dry. If you think a pushy salesperson is bad wait til you're on the receiving end of a lawsuit and then you'll see how pathetic and greedy a person can really be.

thoughtful post.
however. Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders have dedicated their entire lives to helping improve the world, while Mr. Trump has spent his trying to amass wealth, and he has been shown to say anything one day if it suits him, and to deny having said it the next day, or if proof is given, he then says that it was a joke.
Adam Young
>charged for 3 day seminars >it wasn't even a real university Are people this fucking stupid? If you pay for a 3 day seminar no shit it's not a fucking university, that's not even false advertising at that point, it's just a cool name.
>house of blues >but the carpet is red, this is no blue house at all!! I'll see you in court!!
Jaxon Sullivan
I wonder how auto dealerships exist at all, or regular universities with toxic practices such as "encouraging opening up credit cards"
Liam Howard
>Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders have dedicated their entire lives to helping improve the world, How you figure? Bernie Sanders has literally done nothing in congress but talk and not influence policy, while hillary clinton laughs about having started wars, ignored military personnel and being involved in multiple actually illegal acts. The only thing they have improved it their wallets and generated no positive value to anyone but themselves.
Also, note that even the unsealed documents show the overwhelming majority of the ones who went to the courses were satisfied, and that the sales playbook is little different from the one of a normal real estate salesman.
To be fair, America's litigation culture did make red bull get sued because it doesn't give you out right wings.

It's like calling fast food reprehensible when they ask if you want fries with that or an upsize.

Yup. Same thing. Except one costs you two dollars and you get a larger order of fries and the other costs $35k and gives you nothing.
John Gonzalez
Bernie hasn't accomplished a single thing with his life. It is not surprising that a man who has lived on nothing but government money his entire life is a proponent of socialism. He is pathetic and not fit to lead his own life let alone a nation.
Hilary has spent her life ruining others lives. She used illegal means to defend the rapist of a 12 year old girl. She ruined the lives of the women who accused Bill Clinton of sexual assault. She destabilized an entire region, with thousands of people dying as a result, including Americans.
But here we are talking about Trump University overcharging people who signed up of their own free will.
Makes me sick.
