I just want to find some people tired of living in modern society or doing nothing who would share the idea of making a group, getting resources/knowledge, building/affording a ship and claiming some uninhabited island at the Carraibeans?
>building/affording a ship Laughed at this bit. Not just because sailing is and can be very difficult, but just imagining Sup Forums sailing together, each performing repetitive feats of physical behavior that isn't masturbating or defending traps with the keyboard.
Ryan James
I'm on board with escaping society but finding an island and building a group isn't necessary.
Just buy a cheap house on the outskirts of a cheap city, and live there. Far far easier
Evan Wright
That's been my dream for a while
Except it's now moved to something that is actually more feasible, Starting my own Space company similar to what RocketLab in NZ has done
And over time, build a space station... And people can pay for 3 month visits to get away from the stresses of society and earth, maybe focus on study, work, maybe just time to reflect on themselves and get a better understanding of the universe
Jason Perez
How did you manage to open such company without few billion $ of capital?
Traps could be allowed, why not? Plus, I bet we would find people skilled in sailing.
>inland skipper with certificate reporting in
It's something...
I bet that with resources of 100-200 people we would be able to afford/build a ship. Living the dream dude...
That would be fucking hilarious and scary at the same time. Imagine it happened. Wouldn't you feel free?
But that's the very, very small version of the above described.
Easton Perez
>But that's the very, very small version of the above described. That's a good thing. The plan needs to be as simple and small as possible in order to have the best chance of success.
Joshua Rivera
>How did you manage to open such company without few billion $ of capital?
Investing... Hopefully, I'll have to start a fund first, maybe grow a small investment firm to pay the overhead of such a business venture... But god almighty I want it to happen so bad, I feel it in my bones
Elijah Wilson
>I bet we would find people skilled in sailing. Open water/open sea is a bit different. And professional sailors with a focus on sailing only (as would be with pic related) can be quite expensive.
>Wouldn't you feel free? Sure, when I'm rowing away on the only lifeboat because the other ones were thrown overboard in autistic rage during a discussion as to whether or not traps are gay.
>I bet that with resources of 100-200 people we would be able to afford/build a ship More than just the ship. It's tools, food and water, a marine carpenter (needed on a tall ship during long voyages) and more.
Grayson James
I think I'll just continue with my idea of living innawoods alone. Thanks anyway
Lincoln Taylor
Remember that the people that would like to take part in the adventure would be for example sailors or other skilled people, as I asid, everyone would be useful. Few sailors, carpenter etc. and we would be fully crewed (or teached how to do what by some wise guy/guys).
I would love to see the "trap tent" in the ship. Kek.
I know it's different, however, people learned the skills needed somehow, we would do the same. Learn from mistakes.
I wish you best and I hope you succeed. I am trying to invest too, but I am a poorfag with no capital.
That is possible my friend, we just have to be able to manage people.
PS. Traps are not gay.
Anthony Green
>Remember that the people that would like to take part in the adventure would be for example sailors or other skilled people People with those sorts of qualifications usually just have their own yachts/get drunk in Thailand.
Joseph Bell
What are you investing in?
Connor Adams
ITT anons create there own Somalia yar har a pirates life for me
Levi Jenkins
Nothing yet... Not recently anyway
Jonathan Peterson
I'm in Attach onaholes to paddles, infinite rowing
Jordan Lee
So what were you investing in? And how much would you need to fulfill your dreams?
Carson Lee
>That is possible my friend, we just have to be able to manage people Anything is possible, but why make things more difficult? That's the entire problem I have with all of these schemes when they come up.
Nicholas Lopez
>I wish you best and I hope you succeed. I am trying to invest too, but I am a poorfag with no capital.
Thanks man. good luck yourself
My father was a marine engineer and i've been on a few ships in my 20 years, Helped in the engine room on a really big yacht once.
Navigated my fathers Hartley a few times too, Also helped him repair and restore the Hull in a slipway. I know a little about seafaring life.
Maybe if you get a Kickstarter I'd contribute, And if it took off, I'd join... But my heart is pretty set on succeeding at the space station idea, however far down the road that might be... Who knows though
Thomas Reed
hate to break it to you but a caribbean island is a shit place to go. indifferent water supply, poor soil, exposure, huge fucking weather, malarial and other insect-born diseases, etc etc
Charles Rogers
Just a word of advice, dude. Anyone that answers this ad and wants to go along with it is probably not the person you'd want to be alone on a deserted island with. just sayin'
Jack Ward
Where do we start?
Left or right?
I'm also in. Who else?
Jaxon Kelly
>a caribbean island is a shit place to go In complete agreement. But I'm not OP.
Landon Cook
Yes.
Ryan Mitchell
Oil and Foreign Exchange originally
I approached it wrong as new trader and was trading my limited capital with emotion.. It's been 2 years since I started, Been taking my time, Using demo accounts, Learning all the resources and building my knowledge and strategy... And how much? I don't know, How long is a piece of rope?
I think I could made it work with an initial capital of 20k, Maybe even 10k
But 50k would be a whole lot nicer and leave a whole lot more wriggle room
Jonathan Brown
it's not 1703
Levi Wright
If we start something, I think it's better to have some people because we do not know what we would have to face. More people = safety and manpower. Of course, food supply, water, medicines etc. is also needed in huge volume then.
Everything is possible.
Where are you from user btw?
Not Somalia, we are not fucking blacks.
Evan Lee
Not sweden obviously, don't want my balls to freeze off.
Carson Peterson
>Where are you from user btw?
Australia, Land of alcoholism, big egos and dumb youth
You?
Jace Foster
But we could hunt the islamcucks and spread fear. We would name our ship after Breivik, "White Breivik" let's say, and we would pain our ship with white patterns. He would be proud.
Jackson Anderson
Hermits don't want to live on an island together. Much less a bunch of autistic neets.
Blake Miller
I just want to suck a LOG out of his asshole
Camden Cox
I live in Poland, land of catholic-socialism, alcoholism, poverty and stupid catholic fanatics that are banning abortion after the rape and anti-pregnancy pills as the pills are "killing people".
I work, try to study, contribute, and I am awarded with poverty, huge taxes and everything worst.
I want to get out and live.
Lucas Adams
>I would love to see the "trap tent" in the ship. Kek. Shit like this is why I sail alone.
Gabriel Myers
Somalia, aren't there still pirates?
Aiden Brown
Former Boatswainfag reporting. I can teach you all you need to know and I can even sail the vessel into and out of port. Got my master helm qualifications.
Elijah Jenkins
"In other news the coast guard rescued 138 autist who were floating in the ocean today kept afloat by piss jugs and water wings, half of them were dressed like women. "
Liam Ward

Benjamin Gray
>dreams only the CREAM and the STEAM
Nolan Clark
I'm actually in total agreement. But we would need to set up trade with someone. If it's an island, depending on size, resources would be an issue. Also would need a low maintenance way of getting traded goods. So a ship like what you posted would be a good idea.
Blake Rogers
Yeah but I served on a cruiser
Jaxon Parker
Or you could just get a bunch of Invester/TraderFags from here to join, And they can pay all our overhead
why live the hard way? we could live in luxury
Bentley Nelson
I want to say "Fuck It!" to modern society and go off into the wilderness and become a Mountain Man
Luke Sanchez
There's even a movie about it, forgot the name though. It was somewhere in the UK I think.
Asher Peterson
soooo any coordinates to undiscovered or unclaimed land/island? We can make all this talk but if there is no land that we can claim, without forming a small army and going to war, what's the plan? Space? UNDERWATER!!!! if we had the capital, the engineering, the location and the willpower, fucking sealab2021
Asher Diaz
kek
Jeremiah Johnson
See... someone already thought of space
William Scott
>abandoned oil rigs Are there even abandoned rigs? They're quite expensive, even if it's only for scrap value. Pirate radio may have been 'Sealand'. Also a reason why structures like that aren't usually left.
"Reports indicated they were attempting to reach the Carribean but were found drifting in the harbor they left from"
Jeremiah Morris
Why don't you all come live with me here in my Mom's basement. Nobody ever comes down here.
Kayden Martinez
Does she let you swear?
Lincoln Sanders
>758524768 >Buy Uss Missouri >Anons work 24/7/365 restore it to current day specs >invade new zealand kick all males to australia >establish pitcairn 2 republic >main economy based in space exploration and sheep wool
Alexander Hernandez
Well, a basic rule is that they would need to get something out of it as well. They aren't just going to volunteer all that money for people to live off them for free. It's only common sense.
Christian Barnes
No, but she will bring us down juice boxes every now and then
Nathan Allen
Why settle? A well-outfitted ship can serve as a permanent residence. You pay about a dollar per watt for solar power if you buy solar panels from China. I think it's $10k for a system to purify water. Food costs are negligible if you stop in the right places.
Of course, a ship is only comfortable as a permanent residence if it's huge. And huge ships almost always have high operational costs, besides huge sailing ships which are very rare.
War, with 100-200 armed people suddenly arriving at some small island we would conquer it, learn the terrain, set camp and we would be able, I guess, to defend it. Plus no huge forces would be sent as who would waste resources?
We could raid. Or trade. Or both.
Haven't considered it. It's unstable highly. On real land you can farm etc.
You won;t kill our dreams.
Plus we would need like 80-90% of crew and only 10-20% traps to maintain order and have some fun.
Zachary Ross
Great idea! I'll join you only if I can get a date with Lorde
Mason Jackson
You good at blowjobs?
Unrelated....
Jordan Sanders
yeah well thousands of people think of space... i mean it's kind of the next obvious step unless you want to get into crazy ass theories of multidimensional travel and all that shit, which would still require some resemblance of a space program or a way to launch from space/land rather than risk the planet by tearing a hole through space and time. *queue theremin* besides that the other short term option for taking advantage of surface area on earth that the likelihood of having to go to war to acquire it would be underwater. at least in my opinion
geothermal power from underwater vents
Luke Adams
Governments care more about their surrounding islands than you might think. For example, you couldn't attack anywhere in the South Pacific without New Zealand retaliating, assuming that military operations in its surrounding islands aren't just for show.
Ethan Hernandez
...
Brody Garcia
Back when I was 12 and a faggot I did. You can't own your own Island anymore what do you think this is goodwill or some shit? The governments of the world won't even let scientist have their own why would you think that they would all let a fuck wit like you own one?
Nolan Long
You know ANZAC stands for Australia & New Zealand Army Corps
Fuck with New Zealand and we'll be fucking with Australia, No thanks, Fuck that noise
Jacob Long
its not very self sustaining once you consider maintenance and parts. what are you gonna do sail to another country and raid them for ship parts? yar har
Easton Evans
ITT: pussies
The whole OP's idea is to get crew, ship and CLAIM a land, defend it later as other autists join adter our success. Not that hard. In america we buy guns or other shit (or somalia) and we defend our new land, like fucking Cpt Flint did.
Asher Gomez
It's a pirate's life for me
William Adams
i get what you are trying to say, but honestly man this they really do, and people misconstrue sovereignty to mean you are just free, but it really means you are only a free nation if you can defend yourself against any attacking force that wishes to say you aren't or want to take what you have, if you are unable to do that, you are unrecognized by the united nations as well as the world as a sovereign nation...So i hope you have the money for warships, heavy artillery, anti air, and advanced firearms in order to help protect a small population on an island. Now not to say there aren't a few RARE places where you could establish a settlement with little to no resistance but i honestly think you aren't gonna find any in the world today without some major connections.
Nicholas Baker
Not to mention the resources. If you won't just be bombed into oblivion, you'll likely have to face a trade embargo. If you can't grow your own food and make your own ammo and everything else required, you'll likely be starved out before being charged with invading whatever nation's soil it is.
Thomas Kelly
You eat plenty of pineapples to make your cum sweeter?
Asking for a friend.
Isaiah Carter
you persuaded me YAR HAR ME M8ES WE SLITTIN THEIR THROATS AND THROATIN THEIR SLUTS! YAR HAR!
Brandon Martinez
Anyone got a picture of a trap-pirate?
Friend is asking, need that to confirm if he joins the band.
Xavier Perry
Have you ever been pepper sprayed for dropping that line?
Jackson Bennett
Why are those islands inhabited?
Cooper Green
No. But I pepper spared a few people.
ALso once accidentally sprayed myself a little, kek. Wind is glorious.
Justin Wright
All you need is good maintenance, and knowledge of which parts are liable to fail. Anything to do with liquid (pumps, water storage) is likely to develop issues no matter how good your maintenance is. Anything to do with power is extremely reliable if you know what you're doing, but pretty much guaranteed to fail if you don't. Engines should run basically forever if they're built correctly and not overexerted. Wooden hulls last forever, but are harder to repair and can rot if neglected. Metal hulls are strong, but require maintenance if made of steel, and that takes good knowledge of welding as well as welding equipment that works underwater.
You could always construct an island. I've noticed that sea life will eagerly develop on anything in the water. Someone left a bit of fishing line in the water, literally just a narrow string of plastic, and it's coated in seaweed.
Liam Parker
Wooden hull with brass. The top tier.
Angel Martin
yeah i didn't even want to get into that or the difficulty of establishing infrastructure, fighting off inside rebellions and disagreements, etc etc etc. I mean outside of just getting bombed out of the waters on the way there, the list just goes on with barriers in the way you would have to prepare for.
Owen Sullivan
You mean a brass outer hull? It's pretty expensive, you'd be paying many times more than you would for a steel hull. I don't know enough to know if there are any durability advantages to a brass-plated wooden hull; obviously, the wood means that if the metal corrodes there's still wood to get through, but is brass better than steel/aluminium?
Andrew Ross
>pepper spared
Matthew Roberts
Brass? In seawater? Shit son that's a nightmare waiting to happen.
Leo King
There have been a TON of these types of threads, some quite serious and yet none to my knowledge have ever been successful.
If you actually want to get this off the ground for real, you have to find out why the previous efforts failed and what you can do to make your effort succeed.
Without digging into these reasons, the whole thing is likely go nowhere. How do you plan to address this?
John Nguyen
It should be sprayed you frogfag. You banned from our ship.
Yeah, brass is highly corrosion resistant asnd "soft". It does not crack.
Jordan Lewis
OP you can get used battleships from the US govt for pennies on the dollar
Nathaniel Jones
was that a reference to the South Park episode?
Adam Evans
Wonder what happens when they realize we already killed and raped all the natives and we're the only ones left on it.
Rhymes with nuke...
Eli James
>There have been a TON of these types of threads, some quite serious and yet none to my knowledge have ever been successful
Haven;t seen any similar threads. Source or pics?
William Carter
O captain my captain
Xavier Cook
There were so many at one point, I didn't even bother to keep the information. One guy wanted to buy an island like you, another wanted to buy land up in Maine, yet another had a pretty detailed plan of an off-grid settlement, it went on and on.
I'd monitor /out/ a bit, that's where I've seen at least half of them.
Grayson Green
bro its all good i know it was sprayed, it just brought a funny image to mind chill faggot
Christian Lopez
Usually all fall down on the fact that so much money, and so many skilled personnel, resources, tools etc. are needed that it quickly becomes unfeasible to do unless already life or death.
Not to mention that almost every land mass is under the protection of one nation or another meaning that taking it over will be classed as an invasion and fought against with military resources.
Bentley Sanchez
shhh
Asher Bennett
No hurricanes in sweden. . .just blizzards and shit
Nolan Johnson
Spoken like a true do nothing neet. I'm not getting into the costs because I know others already have. I'll skim the thread and make fun of you more at the end.
Landon Perez
I love how the one feasible idea goes unnoticed because shitpost.
Colton Hill
>retards say retarded things seriously That doesn't make it any less retarded
Julian Sanchez
Link it then Sir Skelington I'd be very surprised if it isn't equally flawed
Brayden Smith
Which one's feasible?
Andrew Baker
definitely. if you ever played assassins creed 3 where you could develop a homestead that was self sufficient with every member providing something to the existence/longevity of the homestead. that's my dream user. to live on a close knit homestead that is completely self sufficient. and to have a shit ton of kids
Lucas White
It's gonna be some retarded thing he said an hour ago that he thought was clever but actually wasnt
Gabriel Collins
you never answered the question of how do you acquire those parts? that was the main point, not what parts will fail. Engines should, but they don't, gaskets, valves, rods, metal shavings mixing in the oil, the maintenance would be daily/and weekly to keep it going indefinitely, and that again begs the question of where do you get the parts needed. Also it would most likely have to be a warship to protect during the formative years, so once again, when the stockpile of 10 heavy artillery shells runs out, how do we get more?
Constructed islands are a weak foundation, do you want our nation to have a weak spine? is that how you see our great country? as some weak thing that could easy be taken down from beneath, no roots, no foundation, no stable ground to call home and protect us?!?! heresy
Nolan Martinez
Most likely. Only other idea I recall seeing is something about buying a ship from the US gov for cheap, ignoring completely what 'cheap' means to a boat/yacht/ship owner.
