And I'm the guy who posted Rot Forever in the last thread, and for the guy who was asking; i have heard Daymoon and overall i think it is fine, only a few tracks truely stand out whereas everything on RF and the two EPs they have realeased in the past year were phenomenal. Honestly the reason Daymoon flopped is because it has been recorded since winter and in the meantime they have been able to do what they want in terms of recording and expannding their sound. Im hopeful for the future but Daymoon really was a bad formal reintroduction On the topic, does anybody have Daymoon by Strange Ranger? That was me I liked it a lot overall and thought it was probably one of the better releases from this year, and while there weren't as many major standouts as Rot Forever I thought it felt more focused as a whole. I didn't realize that it had been finished for so long before they put it out, but it def feels like more an autumn record than a summer one. Did you like the production on it compared to RT? I thought it was solid, really moody and atmospheric, but energy def took a hit in some spots. Think they'll keep taking the microphones root or do you think they'll turn the energy back up? Also definitely catch them live if you can, they were awesome. That said, hard to deny that Most Perfect Gold of the Century is a 10/10 track.

Fred also dropped the ball on Hydration is key, the melody is actually pretty good he just exicutes it terribly and I hope to god that melodica thing disappears for good. In general his bass playing is really under utilized which sucks because i have a huge musician crush on him and I was hoping for more moody melodic lines > turn the energy back up? Not to the point where it was in RF, but I can see them shooting for an even bigger and expansive sound when they feel like better song writers. Honestly this is best because they wont be re creating RF 3 times then quiting for good like so many Indie rock and post bands have As for my favorite tracks, I REALLY like Seesaw it is the most feelsy track by far and the lyrics are A1. Most Perfect Gold, Glow, House Show, Everything all at Once and Outerlude are all stand outs and are what I want more of from them. The biggest problem I see right now is how they have keys on almost every track and that the new drummer is nowhere near as talented as the last one, which is fine when it comes to the new material but he absolutely butchered Copy/ Paste in the Audiotree set. Unless you do REDICULOUS amounts of peer to peer uploading and arnt a complete dumbass you will be fine. Sharing music is rewarding and keeps the threads alive so unless its weeb shit pls share

I'm thinking I need to go back through their catalogue and pay more attention to the drumming now. I didn't think Hydration turned out too bad, a bit mumbly, and I actually really like the melodica on that one lol. But then again, Crushed was my least fav on RT. The only song I didn't like on this one was Subaru, just felt really out of place, especially that early in the record. I think you're right on the energy, I wish there'd been at least one or two tracks with blown out jams like RT, but eh, maybe editing everything down was for the best. I can see their next record being really strong, and maybe it won't be as long till it comes out seeing how quickly they can write. What'd you think of Leona from the AT set? I just really hope they blow up more.
