I loved it pretty quickly. It's genuinely a fun song.

Heard it a dozen times and still couldn't tell you what it sounds like.

Other way around, at first I liked it, then I realized I only liked it because the video made me believe it sounded like goth.
It sounds like any other indie song. And it sounds dated, it's so 00s.

You've got a pount there Fred.

>look guise we're goth now!

Late to the party, MGMT.

that bravery album is a huge guilty pleasure of mine

only pop punk i actually like

no. mgmt confirmed trend-hopping insincere posers

Did they steal the cover art from some Maruo illustration?

I can already tell it's the weakest song on the album, they are intentionally not revealing too much

i have no idea who this band is but i listened to it once and unsuprisingly it is complete shit

you don't know mgmt. YOU are shit

>hey guys hippies aren't really trendy anymore so we're goths now haha
>we'll still play the same generic synth pop, as before except we'll play in minor keys
>hopefully this way we'll appeal to the more momentarily relevant subculture
pathetic move desu

>doesnt know who mgmt are

were you under a rock in the late 2000's?

it's just music.
the song was okay.

>it's just music
What do you mean?

The bravery guy was more trying to be emo elvis. Emo was popular at the time.

I mean, Electric Feel has a completely different sound than this new song... but it's all just music. MGMT really do not strike me as a band that subscribes to genre in any way.

>none of their albums sound alike
>listens to one song and decides it's all shit
Fuck you and the horse you rode in on.

MGMT is one of those bands that is really shitty in every way but they got lucky with a hit single so all the hipster kids try to convince themselves that the rest of their music is worth something. They should have put out an underwhelming sophomore release and then hung it up. What's the point in even putting out material if it's so far removed from the song that gets played in college neighborhood bars?

yes

>I don't like it so it's bad

>i like it so it's good

I think the only complaint i see from people who hate MGMT is "WHY DONT YOU MAKE ORCAULAR SPECTACULAR AGAIN REEEEE"

I liked their second album, flash delirium and congratulations are good.

Their third album was the meh forgettable one.

I want them to go more electronic, they should get darker, maybe the next album should be like some NIN industrial shit

I loved it the first time I heard it.
Step up little man.

No, they bought it legally

>maybe the next album should be like some NIN industrial shit
LOL they'll keep doing their indie shit, except now the vocalist wears some eyeliner instead of painting his face with neon colors.

how is that a criticism?
You are just describing actions they have done.

he doesnt like indie shit, so that makes it a valid criticism

And he's right.

It's not a criticism, he's just informing the other user why MGMT won't do something that sounds like NIN.
Although who knows, maybe the vocalist will start eating more and lifting, and will try to look like Trent for the next video.

You gotta be fucking retarded to not see MGMT are being tongue in cheek. They were just doing a dress up for the video. You obviously never listened to their albums to think they are just synthpop

mgmt is literally turbopleb status by the way. you might have been in a coma when their songs were endlessly played everywhere and on every college campus over and over

No, the illustrator, a famous plagiarist, did.

Nope.

did you listen to congratulations my dude? They were doing this 7 years ago.

they were artrock hipsters from the start, who happened to make some catchy songs on accident. congratulations is what they were actually going for from the beginning.

>congratulations came out 7 years ago

Nope.
