station to station is unquestionably the best.
blackstar rlly isn't bad. Low is pretty great
quicksand is the greatest bowie song
Hunky Dory isn't underrated. It's a pretty well liked album. The demos and other songs Bowie did in the Dory years were pretty good

>unquestionably the best.
no it isn't. When compared to 1. Outside, Heathen and The Berlin Trilogy it does sound good but not fantastic.
Toy is wonderful, what are you talking about?
youtube.com
>le bermeme trilogy
i guess it's a matter of subjective taste but
the noisey, plastic-soul, disco type music on it fucks me up. and then the lyrics, coming from a place of desperation and sickliness and crypto fascism. so intense
What if my favorite is Lodger
What then
I know people say Ziggy Stardust is reddit, but some of the songs on it are undeniably brilliant
Reddit: calling others Reddit
Sup Forums: also calling people Reddit because Sup Forums is a Reddit colony
>all these people saying Blackstar is normie
Only like 3 songs are radio friendly, the rest of the album is too weird to be genuinely loved by normies. They bought the album after he died, listened to it once, praised it and never listened to it again.
Low, Heroes and Hunky Dory are normie
>Patrician: Blackstar, 1.Outside, Leon Suites, Low (2nd side), Heroes (2nd side)
>Normies with good taste: Low (1st side), Heroes (1st side), Ziggy Stardust, Station to Station

Just because teens on Sup Forums like Low it doesn't make the album bad. Every song from Station to Station was released as a single and some had good rankings in the charts. Not Low. Now imagine having that album called as a 'failed attempt in avant grande music' . Just because it's popular now doesn't mean it was the start of the reinvention of Bowie. Don't taint his legacy by calling The Berlin Trilogy as >le memes
as others have.

Lodger is great, you have good taste
I agree with you. Ranking Bowie's albums is completely pointless and you are going along the same line as the music journalists who called Heathen//Reality/The Next Day as 'the best thing he's done post-Scary Monsters
Bowie was a fucking faggot who never made anything worthy of recognition. He was famous becouse he was a flaming faggot and now that he died you plebs blindly worship him instead of discussing real artist who actually changed music, like The Beatles, Pink Floyd and etc
My nigga

So are we just gonna forget that his best song is a cover?
Repetition is becoming one of my favorites, lodger is just really solid throughout
pleb
oh I wholeheartedly agree with you. Station to Station is a very emotional and solid album. But to call it his best album would be unfair. I think the album version of Word on a Wing doesn't do it justice.

but ranking Space Oddity the album as good is going a bit too far don't you think?

I'm already familiar mate! Thanks though!
>but ranking Space Oddity the album as good is going a bit too far don't you think?
I only dislike Janine and Letter to Hermione from it. I think it's solid.
It isn't. Most 'normies' have only heard Lazarus/Blackstar, not the full album. It's an amazing album and a very personal one. Wonder when they'll release the other 5 tracks, especially Blaze.
>Sup Forums is suddenly calling blackstar a normie album despite cumming all over it when it got released
What's your opinion on Toy? I loved Shadow Man. Life is A Circus is another song that Bowie did from '69 which I think is pretty good. (Check out Lover To The Dawn) It's really irritating sometimes to think about all the unreleased Bowie stuff that hasn't been released. I'm sure that they won't even release Blaze until the last box set. Don't even get me started on the rumoured 22 hr long Leon Suites.
>I think it's solid.
Well, I love Black Tie White Noise so I don't think I have a 'good objective Bowie ranking' either.

user, I want it. It's my holy grail together with the unreleased/unmade/unfinished Bowie soundtrack to The Man Who Fell to Earth.
>What's your opinion on Toy?
I don't know, it's from that Heathen/Reality era which is far off from being a favorite. I like Shadow Man as well, but the version from 1971.
gay, contrarian, pleb and lame. kill yourself.
Hunky Dory, Heroes, and Scary Monsters are my favorites.
>unreleased/unmade/unfinished Bowie soundtrack to The Man Who Fell to Earth.
were there any leaks for that? All I know is that I'm thankful for TLS leaks, I don't even think that they are going to revisit 1. Outside properly in the following box sets. Heck, they couldn't even release Alabama Song, Abdulmajid or Some Are in ANCIANT.

Hunky Dory is more intimate for me.

Didn't "No Plan" have some from Blackstar?
"Killing A Little Time" definetelly suits the themes and concepts of Blackstar.
no, the No Plan EP is different. They also reduced the time for Blackstar. There is one song that I know for sure was supposed to be on the album called Blaze. There are 4 more songs that Visconti said were supposed to be on the album. I agree on the Killing A Little Time part.
thanks for the links, I didn't really know much about these. It's really sad how they've been rereleasing stuff that everyone knew for years now. Hopefully we'll get to hear them.
blackstar is amazing
the band david bowie used for blackstar is amazing

absolutely
I don't know why these newfags are hating on it. Making an artistic statement out of your own death is the most Sup Forums thing someone could do.
eh who cares. Blackstar and The Next Day were perfect. I really love Girl Loves Me.
