Shuzo Matsuoka Edition:

youtu.be/bavZbQHbuOk

After learning kanjis "all the way" up to 4th grade. (638 total) I've started learning compound kanji readings.
Is there an anki deck for each grade? That would help A LOT.

Heh

Stop learning in grade order. Unless you're gonna finish in like a month in which case order doesn't matter much I guess. But you can't just ignore stuff like 誰 for a long time.

wtf im inspired now

You mean on'yomi?
I think it will be pretty tough to learn kanji the native way, they undergo years of seeing kanji with only X reading, then learn a few extra readings during highschool, you'll find yourself hard pressed to find study methods following that.
You can always go with Core 10k (or 30k) and see what cards it offers for each kanji you're learning next, just have a Wikipedia table of joyo kanji by grades (or refer to the Kanji Grid plugin table, sorted by grade).

This seems rude

The dog doesn't look offended.

Is there any way to hook the Steam version of Steins;Gate? ITHVNR doesn't work.

Any tips to improve ones handwriting, still on hiragana learning the basic vowels and I can't seem to write (a), (o), and (i),(u) with only the tiniest of mistakes

does anyone have a torrent file/magnetlink/link to that 35 gigabyte Japanese Mega Resource Torrent? I seem to have lost my copy and I need to re-download it

who cares, it's handwriting not calligraphy
real japanese handwriting looks like shit

it also means to have sex

殺る

why japan-san

Post your kanjifu

橄欖 for sure

I have no motivation to review my flashcards. Help

do it you lazy piece of shit

遥 is blasphemy.

Somewhere, out there, there exists someone who gets off of kanji.

I don't know why but being told that by a German guy on the internet helped

RÉÉMIGRATION

pls stop spamming 日本語スレッド

well that's what happens to a thread filled with trip- and namefags, there's always a bigger autist

that's funny coming from a thread that was run off Sup Forums for its autism

do people actually use this in reference to something being inferior like their dog?

>their dog
Wow, I bet you also say stuff like "I have a sibling" and "I didn't have time". How egocentric of you to think people truly possess anything in this universe

Why are we learning Japanese again? Isn't Japanese society extremely xenophobic, extremely overworked, and utterly soul crushing? And Japanese people are just people so it's the same old shit. Is anime and clean cities really worth it? Have you ever considered that nothing as good and idealistic as anime never sprouted out of other first-world societies because we didn't need it as much?

>we
>first-world

>Why are we learning Japanese again?
I want to say "thank you for existing" to my favorite porn artists.

>you will never fuck anri okita

Too late for that I guess, my sensei teaches using grade order. After I learn all the kanjis in a certain grade she gives me a book in that grade to transcribe to learn new words and sentence structures in overall.
What order of kanji do you learn?
Jukugo (熟語).
Onyomi, yes.
I don't like anki. I can't stick to a regular routine. I sometimes stay a week or two without studying just to come back and study for like a month non-stop.

I want to be bilingual
I love linguistics
Japanese is allegedly one of the hardest languages for native english speakers to learn

"let's just see about that"

Good choice

Then you'll just need Arabic as the third leg of your linguistic stool in order to start balancing some mild stuff like Hungarian and Hindi.

>my sensei
Was nice knowing you, mate.

FINALLY

JAPANESE IS COMING TO DUOLINGO

How long will it take me to learn it if I study for 5 hours every day?

I call her sensei, she's 80 years old and strict about manners. I dont call her anything else.

>How long will it take me to learn it if I study for 5 hours every day?
Woah there pal, that's physically impossible for any human being. First things first, you gotta set realistic goals

I'm a NEET right now and I love learning languages, so I can definitely do a couple of hours a day at the very least.

It was a jest. Go read the guide, forget about duolingo, and study as much as you want

Always cracks me up. How do they count minutes, by the way? I always do 5 lessons a day, manually, takes from 30 to 40 minutes.
Seems like I'm the polyglotest madman around Duo!

おはよう

i wish was left side was 水 though

xenophobic is a meme, i completely forget that i look different at/after work with colleagues
somewhat unexpectedly i find a freedom of being and expression that i don't feel in my native country, and being a person who actually likes working and studying i feel that is more socially accepted
i haven't decided whether to stay long term yet, depends on how bad my home country turns out the coming years, but it definitely is an option

Can someone translate this for me:

ビッテ母天使娘

The google translation seems pretty accurate on the kanjis, but no on the kanas, so I don't now. Also, yes is the title of an h-manga.

I really want to learn Arabic, South Korean, Mandarin, Cantonese, and Spanish

I just don't know where I'll find the time.

What's your home country?

Anyone here is using/used sub2srs? If so, how did it work out for you?

I just found out about it today. I'm hoping it'll help me bridge the gap to reading a bit sooner.

oh great all the weeaboos at my school are going to try and speak to me now with broken shitty japanese

a slave state within the european union

not very specific

I feel you, man. Best of luck.

whoops this isn't Language Learning Thread

How do you bring back the suspended cards? I got rid of them by accident through leeching them before I knew to turn it off.

Browse>Suspended and remove the tag

Don't though, just leave them suspended. You've already seen them like 12 times if they leeched, just learn them through reading/listening.

Don't bother, even if you could read kana properly google would still translate it wrong.

>12
Default is 8
Try writing them down, if they still don't stick then just leave them be until you encounter them in the wild

I have successfully recovered from leeches several times, whereas cards I used to dominate pretty easily have recently become leeches. Burying them will only give you more stuff to review later on in real life..

It's a lot easier to remember things when you hear them with audio in a variety of contexts than when you just keep seeing them as a flashcard though. A leech just means you're probably spending more time on the card than the benefit you are actually getting from it.

Are you sure you copied it right? Google gives zero results.

Argie don't know kana
book.dmm.co.jp/detail/b450eagcl01185/

>ビッチ
Now that's much easier to understand.

>ビッテ
For a moment I actually thought they had loaned the German 'bitte'.

It's an h-manga, it would obviously be borrowed from French!
en.wiktionary.org/wiki/bitte#French

Some1.

i just spent 3 hours from midnight repairing my deck with some metaphorical javascript duct tape

my data format is growing tumors everywhere and i fear ill hafe to amputate something soon

>bitte f[eminine] (plural bittes)
>(nautical) bitt, mooring post
>(slang) cock, dick, prick
A feminine dick that could also mean mooring post? That is some Kancolle shit right there.

なのん

Can you please post a preview screenshot of the front and rear of your kanji deck? There is a kanji deck with school grade order sorting on this computer; the layout can be changed to match your current one and uploaded/linked here.

How good is Doulingo with languages?

What was wrong with it, user先輩?

I tried French a few years back. It is very 'casualized' in a way. It's catering to minimum investment. If you want to go slow and steady, I guess it could work out for you. But it's not really the most time-efficient of methods.

Over in the general language learning thread there tends to be more Doulingo discussion. This thread has an Anki bias, making it great for Anki related questions but not great for questions regarding Doulingo, Memrise, etc.

Where can I find a sort of unboxing of this boxset?
amazon.com.br/Kanji-Study-Cards-James-Heisig/dp/0870408852
I cannot find anywhere. I'm almost sure of buying it anyway.

This thread has a strong bias towards actually learning japanese instead of just fucking around, yeah. But an anki bias is another way to say that I guess.

Buy these paper flashcards and you get 20% off your next sundial or typewriter purchase

Isn't that just RTK?

Might as well print out the entirety of RTK and cut the pages into cards yourself

Too much work.
What?
I don't think so.
It's just flashcards.
ebay.com/p/Kanji-Study-Cards-Set-by-James-W-Heisig-1992-Paperback/564305
I tried to do mine but it's too much work and most of the time the kanji looks kinda weird.
If you know of any other place that sells kanji flashcards here in brazil I'd be happy.

What's wrong with using an RTK anki deck or whatever this is polarcloud.com/kanji that I just found

Bro, why are you so insistent on using paper flashcards? Did Anki steal your girl or something?

I hate anki with all my guts.
I dont have a fix schedule so It always gets fucked up eventually fucking up all my study time.
Sometimes I go 2 weeks without studying then I come back and study for a month non stop and so on.Anki is not for me tyvm.
I'd much rather have the flashcards myself

Ah, sorry to hear it doesn't work out for you.
I hope whatever method you decide to use works out for you.

You can probably jury rig something out of a deck and send to a gráfica for printing and cutting - it'll probably end up cheaper than an amazon purchase and shipping.

>jury rig

R$484 reais.
I already work so this kind of money is ok if it's for a good cause.
I just wanted to know if someone knew it or reccomended it.
Does anyone know or recomend it???
This, I mean:
amazon.com.br/Kanji-Study-Cards-James-Heisig/dp/0870408852

Not necessarily incorrect here imo en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jury_rigging

Pic related

James Heisig is the author of Remembering the Kanji, so I'd at least suppose it follows the same principles as RTK. It uses a mnemonics isolated kanji study method. You can see the pros and cons of the different methods here.

djtguide.neocities.org/guide.html#Benefits and drawbacks of isolated kanji study

I don't personally know anyone that used RTK, but it's a rather popular book series/method, so it probably works.

>I don't personally know anyone that used RTK, but it's a rather popular book series/method, so it probably works.

It works for learning to hand write. It does not work for learning Japanese. Many people do have learning to handwrite as their goal, and it does have benefits towards learning Japanese, but it's important to know what you are going for. If your main goal is learning Japanese and not learning to *write* Japanese then it would be a mistake to spend months on RTK while postponing your main goal.

Huh I always saw jerry rigged but I guess that's actually less common.

Had I known earlier I wouldn't have bought this shitty leaking clay bucket.

what would you say the major downside of duolingo is? I don't even know what it really does, but I know some friends who use it.

>見解
>guess かいけん
>精算
>guess さんせい
>催促
>guess そくさい

what do i pick? Again or hard?

also am i becoming dyslexic?

Read this
kumasensei.net/learn-japanese-duolingo-review/
It's basically just a step up from Rosetta Stone.

>which of these means night
